Seven Deadly Sins System

"Bang!"

The paws of the three-tailed fox landed on the body of Chu Wuyao's Gem Beast form, causing a large amount of sparks to fly everywhere.

Although its attack failed, the three-tailed fox didn't remain in place nor did she attack again.

Instead, just when Chu Wuyao turned around, her figure disappeared, seemingly teleporting behind her.

As she appeared behind her, a sharp glow flashed in the three-tailed fox's paws as she waved them forward.

But just then, something unexpected happened.

The gems that adored Chu Wuyao's body suddenly flashed with a dazzling three-colored light, and the next moment, this light turned into a colorful shield that protected every single part of hers.

The nails of the three-tailed fox were only an inch away from landing on this shield, and if nothing changed, they were bound to collide with it.

"Gem Defense...", the three-tailed fox thought in her mind and her intuition warned her of danger, letting her know that attacking this shield would have dire consequences.

The three-tailed fox understood why.

The Gem Defense was the representative ability of Gem Beasts and it consisted of two different parts.

First, the shield made out of light could defend against the incoming enemy attacks, and then, if the shield managed to hold on, it could turn the attacks back to where they came from.

The latter part of the Gem Defense ability was actually what allowed Gem Beasts to make up for their lack of speed and agility and was especially effective if they managed to catch their opponents off guard.

After all, a random, unexpected attack was more than enough to turn the battle around and could even seriously injure their opponents.

But faced with the sudden appearance of the Gem Defense, the three-tailed fox didn't show any abnormal reaction.

She had already seen that the invader was a Level 3 Gem Beast, and as such, she had been mentally prepared to face its famous ability.

"But it's too late for you to use it! I've already won!", the three-tailed fox spoke as she took her paws back and flashed in front of Chu Wuyao.

This time, she didn't use her paws to attack nor did she take the initiative to step closer, but instead controlled her three tails to wave around.

As the three tails moved, many complicated golden runes appeared on their surface.

As soon as these runes appeared, they flashed with a golden light that engulfed the three-tailed fox's body.

Then, the three-tailed speed moved forward, at a speed that was even higher than what she used before.

In the blink of an eye, she had arrived in front of Chu Wuyao, and bypassing her Gem Defense, she stretched her paws and touched her body.

However, the expected collision didn't happen.

Instead, the moment her paws came into contact with Chu Wuyao's body, her body began getting smaller and somewhat transparent, before drilling into her.

When the three-tailed fox reappeared, she was no longer outside, but in a dark space that stretched seemingly endlessly.

"Is this the soul space of this Gem Beast?", the three-tailed fox thought as she looked around, her eyes flashing with curiosity.

Even though she seemed to be asking, her question was actually rhetorical and she didn't expect anyone to answer.

After all, she had already used the ability of the Tailed Fox race, an ability named "Soul Invasion".

Every time a Tailed Fox came into contact with their target, they could leave a special coordinate behind, and then, when these coordinates were enough, they could use them to invade the soul space of their opponent.

Once there, they could wipe out their enemy's soul, enslave them, read and tamper their memories, etc.

Although the Soul Invasion ability sounded very strong, one had to accumulate enough coordinates on their enemy's body before they could invade their soul space.

As such, even if other monsters were to obtain this ability, they would find it tasteless.

If they were able to come into contact with their target multiple times, then there was no reason for them to use Soul Invasion, as they could just kill them head-on.

Only members of the Tailed Fox race, a race with high speed and agility but low attacking power could make use of this ability.

"Although the Gem Beast is famous for its defense, it's only its material defense that is strong. Its soul should be very weak.", the three-tailed fox thought, and this was also the reason why she had dared to conflict with a Level 3 Gem Beast.

In a sense, the Tailed Fox race was very suitable for dealing with Gem Beast, as they could avoid its attacks and bypass its defense by attacking its soul.

"Let's see...", the three-tailed fox thought and stepped forward, planning to search for the soul of her target.

Her eyes were calm and her expression was confident, looking as if she had already killed the Gem Beast.

Of course, the three-tailed fox had reason to be confident.

The entire fighting style of Tailed Foxes revolved around attacking their opponent's soul, and because of this, the strength of their soul was extremely strong and far surpassed the monsters of the same rank.

This meant that as long as they invaded the soul space of another monster, they would hold an absolute advantage over it.

However, what the three-tailed fox didn't notice was that while she was wandering around searching for her target, a semi-transparent figure stood in the sky and was observing her movements.

This figure was a giant humanoid monster, with pinkish-white hair, scarlet eyes, and long sharp nails, who wore a golden armor engraved with many patterns and paintings.

The mouth of this monster was slightly open and revealed the countless razor-sharp teeth inside, as well as a strange long tongue.

Not surprisingly, this was the soul of Chu Wuyao's Devi Clone.

"No wonder this little fox is so confident in fighting against a Level 3 Gem Beast...", Chu Wuyao thought as she observed the three-tailed fox and she had to admit that even she was caught off guard.
