Chapter 182: The Blue Girl (3)
In the darkness where it was hard to see what was in front of her, the woman took out a glass bottle and began shaking it. The two types of sticky liquids inside slowly mixed together before emitting a soft light.
When she looked at the face of her younger sister in her arms with that light, she saw that she had her eyes tightly shut and was holding onto her tightly. Finding her younger sister’s appearance a little cute, she tapped the tip of her nose with her finger.
Then, her younger sister opened her eyes slightly and looked around. She then opened her eyes wide and let out a long sigh as soon as she realized that she was safe.
“I was so surprised, Unnie! That guy was trying to bite me just now, aren’t they?”
The woman nodded and said with a slightly gloomy expression.
“That’s right. I thought the entrance would be safe, so it was completely my fault. I should have considered the possibility that the alchemist was already dead…”
The younger sister shook her head and consoled her.
“It’s okay, Unnie. Even though I was surprised, I’m not hurt, am i?”
The younger sister was sweating profusely as she spoke. She was so surprised that even after quite some time had passed, her heart was still beating hard.
The woman listened to her sister’s words and patted her until she calmed down. Then, when her heartbeat stabilized and her complexion improved, she lifted her up and stood her up properly on the ground.
“Now, let’s go find the alchemist’s workshop.”
The woman held up the potion bottle that was shining brightly and started walking ahead. After walking through a dark cave for a while, a peculiar city unfolded before their eyes.
While the younger sister was just admiring the strange scenery, the tattooed woman slowly looked around the city with a frown.
It seems to be a copy of the capital of the kingdom, but there are some differences. Is this the appearance of the capital from a different time period than the one I knew? Or is it a completely different city?
She was looking at the city which had the same architectural style as her hometown, albeit its slightly different appearances while coming up with various hypotheses.
Before long they landed in the quiet, empty city and started walking. Thinking that there might be some danger lurking around the city, she held hands with their younger sister and moved. However, even after walking for some time, they didn’t see anything that looked dangerous.
However, unlike her, her younger sister seemed excited, as if she was completely out sightseeing.
It was really impossible for the city to not have any danger lurking around, but it was so quiet that it made her feel uneasy.
“Look at that, Unnie.”
In the place the younger sister was pointing towards, there was a large cauldron.
It was a large cauldron used in alchemy.
While laughing at the younger sister who was making a fuss about how much taller the cauldron was compared to a person, the woman saw strange debris in the corner of their eyes.
It was the debris of something white.
And that was the reason why the area was safe.
The woman slowly approached and began to examine the debris.
It was a guardian that looked the same as the guardian that had been standing at the entrance, but it had been bitten here and there and stopped moving. The face of the remains was intact, although it was slightly torn, while its human ears and teeth were clearly visible.
“It’s really disgusting… Why do they look like that? Is it the taste of the person who made it?”
Her younger sister, who had been excitedly looking at the cauldron, had already come to the woman’s side and was frowning.
“Muscles or ears may be the creator’s taste, but the teeth shouldn’t be. There is only one case where a guardian grows human teeth.”
The woman said so as she took out the core she had used to make the colored ogre from her pocket.
“It’s a characteristic of a guardian who had swallowed the core used to make it.”
Looking at the core, the younger sister covered the mouth of the colored ogre that was standing quietly on the floor and said to it.
“You should never eat that!”
The woman smiled slightly as she watched her younger sister, who seemed determined not to let their guardian grow human teeth.
“Since we will lose control of the guardian if they eat the core, a sane alchemist wouldn’t do something like that.”
“Ah, so that’s why you said the alchemist has probably died?”
The younger sister clapped her hands slightly in admiration upon hearing that.
“Anyway, it looks like someone else was already here before us. Judging from the fact that they took care of the guardian, they seem to be a more capable group than expected.”
The area was enveloped with a faint human blood.
Moreover, there were some destroyed guardians.
The group of humans who came faster than the woman who rushed in as soon as she saw the news should probably be part of this country’s ‘government.’
It’s only been about 30 years since the Magic Book appeared in this world, yet they’d reached this level.
It was simply astonishing.
“Okay, let’s hurry and go.”
The woman took her younger sister’s hand again and slowly began to advance deeper into the alchemist’s dungeon.
*********After tearing the disgusting Hungry Ghost-look alike apart, we walked proudly down the street.
Plop-! Plop-!
The Golden Reapers and the Black Reapers held each other’s hands as if they were having fun and walked ahead as if they were taking a stroll.
All the Mini Reapers were wearing hats that looked like white glutinous rice cakes. Since it looked soft it went well with the aesthetics of the Mini Reapers. mini ogres.
The identity of those hats were the small White Hungry Ghosts.
The extremely small ogres were placed on top of the Mini Reapers’ heads like hats.
Thanks to them killing a ‘Bad Object’ it seemed like their status had risen from emergency food to hats?
However, when I saw the Mini Reapers occasionally munching parts of their body, I realized that their status hadn’t changed much.
Still, the Hungry Ghost that had become hats looked a little brighter than before.
…Except for the one on top of the Red Reaper’s head.
That Hungry Ghost was slowly and continuously burning because it was set on fire by the Red Reaper’s breath that it inadvertently exhaled.
While being guided by the Orange Reapers, we crossed through the city.
After passing through luxurious buildings made of gold, something which seemed like had been placed in reality from my memory, a strangely shaped structure greeted us.
A deep cliff with no bottom and countless rails adorning it. It was tails which looked like those which could be found in an amusement park. And near the cliff, there was a place that looked like a cable car station.
It was a station with many rides with complicated mechanical devices. Since it was fascinating just by looking at the complicated machines, the Mini Reapers swarmed in and fiddled with them.
They tilted their heads as if they didn’t know what they were, but also tapped them as if they were curious. They jumped on the lever and lowered it, and pressed the button while punching it.
Then, suddenly, a ride which was full of Mini Reapers shot out at high speed like rockets.
Ohhhhhhhh…
This was the first time I’d seen the Mini Reapers do something like this.
Such machines could be easily found in the research institute,
There must have been a lot of these machines in the lab, but why were they doing this this time when they didn’t even touch them?
Was it because they thought humans would be sad if they did it?
Now that I think about it, I’d never seen the kids destroy the lab facilities.
I often break the doors or walls of the research institute, but I never saw them doing so.
Even the Black Reapers who couldn’t turn into phantom would just turn into a liquid and go through the gap instead of breaking the door.
Poke-!
When I suddenly felt something poking my cheek, I turned my head. There, I saw a Golden Reaper looking at me and beckoning me somewhere.
‘You want me to drive that?’
After receiving the will I conveyed, the Golden Reaper tilted its head and continued to wave with its finger, telling me to go with it. Following the Golden Reaper’s guidance, we arrived at a place where several vehicles were lined up in a row.
Each of the vehicle had a mini reaper of different types on board.
The vehicle that was full of Golden Reapers had Golden Reapers hanging from all sorts of levers and buttons.
In the vehicle full of Blue Reapers, a large water golem could be seen in front of the steering wheel.
Just like that vehicle, a large Black Reaper could be seen in front of the vehicle filled with Black Reapers.
The steering wheel of the last vehicle was empty, it was the vehicle filled with the Red Reaper and the Orange Reapers. They were all waving their hands towards me from the back seat.
Was it a race?
For some reason, I had a feeling that I would be defeated miserably, so I couldn’t move my feet easily. But when I saw the bright face of the Red Reaper and the Orange Reapers, I just couldn’t bring myself to run away.
*********The tattooed woman and her younger sister held hands and slowly moved forward, and eventually they could see a cliff and numerous rails leading up to it.
“It’s a rail capsule.”
The woman said with a calm expression as she looked at the vehicle on the rail.
“Wow.”
In the meantime, her younger sister was amazed by the rail capsule.
The rail capsule, decorated in an antique brass style, had the feel of a work of art.
“Sister! It’s a dead end. Or, should we ride those things?”
“I guess so.”
The younger sister made a frightened expression as she looked at the capsule, which looked even more unstable because it looked like a slender work of art. She was even more terrified because the capsule was placed so poorly that it looked like it would fall off the cliff if you touched it lightly.
“It looks like it’s going to fall, is it okay?”
“Even though it was made in order to fall easily, it’s fine.”
The woman boarded the capsule that seemed to be in the best condition and looked around. There were no footprints on the solid rock cliff, but judging from the traces on the rail capsule, it was clear that someone had been there a few moments ago.
“Let’s go, hold on tight.”
The younger sister swallowed hard and gripped the handle tightly.
When the woman lowered the lever, the capsule shot out at rocket speed.
The younger sister tightly shut her mouth as if she was going to scream. She wanted to scream right away, but she held it in because she had been warned that making noise carelessly would be dangerous.
And then the capsule ‘jumped’ off the rail.
“Gyaaaaah.”
The younger sister couldn’t hold it in and screamed as she felt as if they were going to crashed into the cliff.
However, the capsule landed on another rail and began to move at high speed again.
A ride that jumped and changed rails!
The younger sister’s face turned pale as she had that bone-chilling retaliation.
**** * ****“Ugh, I feel like I’m going to throw up, Unnie.”
Fortunately, the capsule ride ended just before the younger sister fainted.
Unlike her sister who was pale, the woman’s face was slightly flushed as if she had had fun.
“You’ll get used to it after riding it a few more times.”
The woman patted her younger sister’s back as she gasped for breath.
“I absolutely don’t want to ride it anymore.”
“Unfortunately, we have to ride it again to return.”
The younger sister’s face, which was gradually regaining its color, turned pale again.
While the younger sister was dizzy and unable to control her body properly, the tattooed woman was looking at a place surrounded by thick darkness.
In the darkness that seemed to be devouring the light, she could vaguely see things like large bookshelves lined up endlessly.
And behind it, something white and long appeared for a moment and then disappeared.
It was something like bean sprouts with human teeth growing out closely together.
**** * ****Grrrr-!
The vibration of the heavy machine that became active slightly kick the dust that had piled up in the room, making the air slightly hazy.
Dust was piled up on the bed, on the blue girl lying on it, and on the girl sitting next to the bed looking down without moving.
Perhaps because of the sudden vibration, something slowly began to move in the room that had been dormant.
The girl sitting next to the bed began to move along with the creaking sound that occured when a liquid that has solidified for a long time suddenly moves.
The girl who jumped down from the chair was barely a meter tall.
The silhouette of the girl, whose entire body was as white as a sheet of white paper, looked very similar to the ‘Gray Reaper’.
The white girl took out a white bead that had the same colour as her own white hands and placed it in the blue-haired girl’s hand.
The girl’s hands, which were neither breathing nor moving, were cold but still soft.
As if she was still alive.
Drip-! Drip-!
At that moment, tears fell from the face of the white girl who was standing silently into the dusty blanket.
But it was a silent cry.
Then, the white girl left the blue girl and slowly walked out of the room.
Above the girl’s head, there was a drooping antennae of a Hungry Ghost sticking out.
