Chapter 1006 RAPID GROWTH
1006 RAPID GROWTH
TSK.
Nero clicked his tongue when he saw the extent of damage Trevor Kesser caused after blowing up a portion of the Imperial Shrine.
That blasted Sorcerer, I'm going to send him the bill for the renovation!
Of course, the Imperial Family had the money to renovate the Imperial Shrine. But he wanted to hold Trevor Kesser accountable.
I'm going to bleed him dry.
"Y-Your Imperial Majesty," Melvin greeted him nervously. His secretary definitely noticed that he was pissed after seeing the damage Trevor Kesser caused to the Imperial Shrine. "I made sure that the witnesses won't talk."
As expected of the future Imperial Chamberlain.
"Call the Imperial Mages and tell them to start the renovation right away," Nero said, sighing. "Tell them they may use as many Mana Stones they need if their Mana isn't enough to renovate the Imperial Shrine."
"Your Imperial Majesty, we're expecting a war soon. Will it be wise to spend that much money on a renovation that we don't need to rush anyway?"
"The budget won't be coming from the Imperial Treasury."
"Then will it come from Your Imperial Majesty's personal funds?"
"Trevor Kesser will shoulder the cost of the renovations," Nero said, smirking. "So, make sure to tell the Imperial Mages to use this opportunity to improve the Imperial Shrine's aesthetics. They may replace the pillars with gold for all I care."
Melvin smiled as if he realized Nero's scheme, but that smile soon disappeared when Nero coughed.
Nero coughed up blood, to be precise.
"Y-Your Imperial Majesty!" Melvin yelled worriedly. "W-What happened?"
"Calm down," Nero said while wiping the blood off his mouth with the back of his hand. "Just call my doctor…" He paused when he suddenly felt dizzy, and then he felt his body lose its strength as his consciousness started to fade away. "Don't panic, crybaby…"

IT WAS a strange occurrence.
Dahlia was in awe while watching the change in Emperor Nero's body.
She could see it— she could see the midnight rose embedded in the emperor's heart grow bigger.
Emperor Nero had always been a talented Roseheart.
If His Imperial Majesty had more interest in his power and privilege as a male Roseheart, he might have surpassed the Mona Roseheart by now. But since His Imperial Majesty only cared about his Moonglow and divine power, he didn't bother using his Roseheart Blood to its full potential.
But perhaps the emperor had always known that even if he didn't put that much effort, he'd still grow stronger as a Roseheart.
That kind of annoyed Dahlia.
"Miss Dahlia, how is His Imperial Majesty?" Melvin asked worriedly. "His Imperial Majesty wasn't poisoned, was he?"
Dahlia's irritation disappeared while looking at Melvin's teary eyes.
When she felt Emperor Nero's presence suddenly became faint, she immediately ran towards the Imperial Shrine.
She found Melvin crying while shaking Emperor Nero who fell unconscious on the ground.
I'm glad that the Imperial Knights didn't see Sir Melvin cry like a child.
Dahlia then used Lapiz to carry Emperor Nero and bring him to his chamber.
I needed to protect Sir Melvin's dignity as the future Imperial Chamberlain.
"His Imperial Majesty wasn't poisoned, Sir Melvin," Dahlia assured him politely. "His Imperial Majesty only coughed up blood because his Roseheart Blood practically poured too much "blood" into the midnight blue rose embedded in his heart to make it grow bigger."
Melvin looked confused by her explanation.
It's not surprising since only a few understand a Roseheart's power.
"To put it simply, it's similar to a Core getting bigger to accommodate more Mana for its user."
Melvin, who was a Mana-user, finally understood what Dahlia was saying.
"I see," Melvin said, nodding. "His Imperial Majesty got stronger again."
Dahlia smiled and nodded. "That's correct. His Imperial Majesty probably's Roseheart Blood probably got influenced by—"
<"What happened to this loser?">
She trailed off when the Spirit of a young male Roseheart suddenly appeared beside the sleeping emperor.
<"He probably got exhausted because he played with us.">
This time, a teenage boy Spirit appeared on the emperor's other side.
<"I can't believe he passed out after acting tough on us— how embarrassing!">
Dahlia covered her mouth with her hands when she gasped after a young man— still a Roseheart Spirit, of course— hovered above the sleeping Emperor Nero.
And then another one appeared.
Then one more kid.
One more teenage boy.
Another young man.
Male Rosehearts' Spirits kept appearing one by one that Dahlia had already lost count.
How did they follow His Imperial Majesty here?
"G-Ghosts!" Melvin, who could also see the "ghosts" surrounding Emperor Nero, yelled in a scared voice. "M-Miss Dahlia, are those g-ghosts I see?!"
"Y-Yes, Sir Melvin," Dahlia said, gulping. "But I don't know how they got here…"

IT WAS heavy.
Nero woke up because he felt like something was trying to crush him.
And he wasn't wrong.
When he opened his eyes, he was greeted by the Roseheart Spirits that he was pretty sure he left at the Abyss.
He was curious as to how these bastards followed him, but first things first.
"Get off me," Nero complained to the "child" sitting on his chest. "Are you trying to kill me, child?"
It was the child who kept provoking him back in the Abyss.
Anyway…
Nero could see Dahlia and Melvin in the corner of the room— looking helpless and apologetic.
The two probably tried to drive away the Roseheart Spirits but failed.
<"My name is Jacob Roseheart,"> the "child" said, grinning. <"If you were going to die just from this, then I would have killed you already.">
"Why did you follow me here?"
<"Because it's boring in the Abyss! We want to play!">
"Jacob Roseheart, do I look like a free person to you?" Nero asked, scoffing. "Didn't I tell you I have a war to prepare for?"
<"And we're here to help you win the war!">
"How do you plan—"
Nero shut his mouth when, suddenly, Jacob Rosehearts and at least ten other Roseheart Spirits in the room transformed into their Soul Beast forms.
Now at least ten Soul Beasts— in the form of mythical creatures— surrounded him.
Surprisingly, he felt light.
Controlling these many Soul Beasts should have put a heavy toll on his body. To be precise, even his heart should feel heavy.
But Nero felt like he could control this many Soul Beasts all at the same time.
I beat Father's record for owning the most number of Soul Beasts in the de Moonasterion History.
