As I opened my eyes, I saw my mother Esther, or should I call her my woman Esther.

She still slept soundly clinging to my arms, her peaceful face a testament to yesterday's passion.

I rolled my eyes, still lying comfortably in bed with Esther resting peacefully beside me. Her soft breathing and warmth made it hard to think about anything else, let alone moving on to another mission.

"Gaia, seriously?" I whispered, trying not to wake Esther. "What's the hurry? I finished the mission ten days early. Can't I get a day or two to relax? I mean, come on, I've earned it."

There was a brief pause before her voice returned, calm but firm.

"Samuel, you don't seem to understand the situation properly. Time is ticking. These are just measly missions—simple ones meant to ease you and familiarize you with the system.

I frowned. "Still, what's the harm in taking a little break? It's not like I'm slacking off."

Her logic was frustratingly sound, and I couldn't argue with it. I glanced at Esther, still peacefully lying beside me stroking my chest, and sighed again. "Fine, Gaia. Let's hear the next mission."
