Rhythm of dreams

Chapter 16: The high of performance

As Jaxon walked off the stage, he was met with thunderous applause and cheers. The crowd was on its feet, whistling and shouting for more.

Marcus Thompson, the wealthy businessman, was beaming with pride as he watched Jaxon take his final bow. He turned to his daughter, Sophia, and saw that she was smiling from ear to ear.

"Sophia, what did you think?" Marcus asked, his eyes shining with excitement.

Sophia nodded enthusiastically. "Dad, he was amazing! I loved his music."

Marcus smiled, feeling pleased that his daughter had enjoyed the performance. "I'm glad you liked it, sweetie. I think Jaxon has a lot of potential."

As they made their way to the dressing room to congratulate Jaxon, Marcus couldn't help but think about the possibilities. He had been impressed by Jaxon's talent and charisma, and he was eager to discuss potential business opportunities with him.

When they arrived at the dressing room, Jaxon was sitting on the couch, sipping on a bottle of water. His friends, Alex and Jake, were sitting on either side of him, grinning from ear to ear.

"Dude, that was insane!" Alex exclaimed as Marcus and Sophia entered the room.

Jake nodded in agreement. "You killed it out there, Jaxon."

Jaxon smiled, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. "Thanks, guys. That means a lot coming from you."

Max, Jaxon's producer, was also in the room, a proud smile on his face. "Jaxon, you were phenomenal tonight," he said, shaking Jaxon's hand.

Marcus extended his hand, congratulating Jaxon on his performance. "Jaxon, you were incredible tonight. I think you have a lot of potential, and I'd like to discuss some business opportunities with you."

Jaxon's eyes narrowed slightly, and he felt a sense of caution. What did Marcus have in mind?

"I'd love to hear more," Jaxon said, his voice neutral.

Marcus smiled, seeming to sense Jaxon's wariness. "Don't worry, Jaxon. I'm not going to try to manipulate you into doing something you don't want to do. I just think you have a lot of talent, and I'd like to help you achieve your goals."

Jaxon nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Marcus. Maybe this was an opportunity he shouldn't pass up.

As they chatted, Jaxon's friends and Max listened intently, eager to hear more about Marcus's proposal.

But just as it seemed like Marcus was about to reveal more, Samantha, the talent agent, burst into the room.

"Jaxon, congratulations on an incredible performance!" she exclaimed, a bright smile on her face.

Jaxon smiled, feeling a sense of unease. What did Samantha want?

"Thanks, Samantha," Jaxon said, his voice cautious.

Samantha's eyes locked onto Marcus, and a look of surprise crossed her face.

"Marcus Thompson," she said, her voice dripping with sophistication. "I didn't know you were interested in Jaxon's music."

Marcus smiled, seeming to sense the tension between Samantha and Jaxon.

"I'm interested in helping Jaxon achieve his goals," Marcus said, his voice smooth.

Samantha's eyes narrowed slightly, and Jaxon could sense the wheels turning in her head.

"I see," she said, her voice dripping with skepticism. "Well, I think Jaxon has a lot of potential, and I'd like to help him achieve his goals."

Jaxon felt a sense of unease, sensing the tension between Samantha and Marcus.

"I appreciate your interest," Jaxon said, his voice cautious. "But I need some time to think about my options."

Samantha smiled, seeming to sense Jaxon's wariness.

"Of course, Jaxon," she said. "Take all the time you need. But I think you'll find that my proposal is the best option for you."

As Samantha left the room, Jaxon couldn't help but feel a sense of uncertainty. What did the future hold for him? And who could he trust to help him achieve his goals?
