Having believed he was trapped in a pincer attack, Zhao Kai gnashed his teeth as he needed to make a decision fast.

'That flying creature's speed is too fast.' He quickly deduced that targeting the flying creature was a foolish decision.

His only way out was utilizing the same method he had done previously against the Cursed Gargoyle: charge forward to the Warden.

However, before he got to commence the action, he heard a voice from behind.

"Shadow Blade, no need to worry! That flying creature is Flint, the Raid Leader's Pet." Carmen informed him before he could do anything impulsive.

After all, even she had nearly struck at Flint in the beginning. Thus, she needed to inform everyone that Flint was a comrade and not an enemy.

And she was sure Xu Feng wouldn't mind her informing everyone.

Otherwise, there would have been a warning to keep the matter a secret or outright not reveal Flint at all.

"This is Feng's pet?" Zhao Kai's mouth was left agape as he could feel a sense of danger emitting from Flint.

Just how lucky was his buddy to obtain such a ferocious pet?

'This Feng is hoarding all the good stuff. He should be banned and allow us poor players a chance.' Zhao Kai thought sarcastically.

Sometime later, Zhao Kai cooperated with Flint in deflecting the Warden.

"Wow, Flint is something else!" Zhao Kai exclaimed in disbelief at how well Flint cooperated with his movement and positioning.

Whenever he tried to use his shield to block off the Warden's stone arm, Flint would start attacking its side.

The combination of these two successfully hindered the Warden and caused it to be infuriated, unable to target either one of the two.

If the Warden tried to target Flint, Zhao Kai would bash it off with his shield, and if the Warden tried to target Zhao Kai, then the same scenario would play out.

"Very nice, Flint!" Zhao Kai complimented Flint joyously.

"Chirp!" Flint responded with a chirp, and stomped heavily on the Warden, causing severe damage to its stone structure.

Disgruntled, the Warden wanted to free itself from these two annoying pests, but it was a little bit too late.

Carmen had already instructed Veronica to be on standby, so as the Warden decided to take a few steps back to retreat, an opening was created.

"Now, Vortex Viper!" Carmen narrowed her eyes and commanded, unleashing her own stack of spells to launch at the Warden.

"Yes," Veronica nodded and quickly cast numerous spells.

Soon, a whirlwind of elemental magic spiraled from their staff, colliding with the Warden's body, and their spells struck with pinpoint accuracy.

Each hit destabilized the Warden further, cracks forming all over its stony exterior.

The combined force of spells and Flint's heavy attacks overwhelmed it.

In one final shudder, the Warden's stone frame shattered, crumbling to dust under the relentless magical onslaught.

No matter how well their adaptability was, what they lacked in the end was still the time required for them to adapt. And Carmen was not generous enough to give the Warden any chance to adapt to the addition of Flint as their new combatant.

"Good, let's strike the iron when it's hot!" Carmen exclaimed and hurriedly instructed others to finish off the last Warden on the battlefield.

Though it wasn't much needed, given that Zhao Kai had already zoomed ahead along with Flint.

"Let's go, Flint. You and me in the flank respectively." Zhao Kai chuckled, clearly appreciating and loving Flint's near-perfect cooperation with him. Flint was so much better than Ardent Lance in terms of everything.

Thus, the moment he arrived at the final Warden, Zhao Kai shouted at Ardent Lance. "Yo, move aside and go rest somewhere else. You're not needed here."

"What?" Startled and baffled by the sudden interruption, Ardent Lance thought he had misheard Zhao Kai's words.

After all, only Steelshot had shown his hostility and insulting remarks toward him. Yet now it was actually Zhao Kai who seemingly impersonated Steelshot?

"What do you mean by what? I'm speaking the same language as you, so just move aside and don't block Flint's way." Zhao Kai waved his hand in annoyance.

Ardent Lance's current position was blocking Flint from being able to move freely, so if anything happened, it would be Ardent Lance's fault.

Meanwhile, Steelshot, who was fighting at the backline, was dumbfounded by Zhao Kai's remarks as well.

'Did Ardent Lance offend Shadow Blade?' Steelshot wondered silently.

Amidst their confusion, Carmen arrived at the scene and was astonished by Zhao Kai's behavior. She wanted to reprimand him, but it wouldn't be appropriate considering they were both in the same Guild Rank.

'He's the Raid Leader's friend, but his conduct isn't tolerable.' Carmen pursed her lips, taking a deep breath before deciding what to do.

"Shadow Blade, enough of your action! Cooperate well with the teammates; do not demean them!" Carmen shouted fiercely, choosing to scold Zhao Kai's action on the spot.

What he represented was not just him alone, but the Vanguard Guild's reputation behind. Hence, she couldn't allow Zhao Kai to act so rudely and impulsively.

Carmen already anticipated Zhao Kai might rudely respond or even question her authority, but she couldn't care less. What was wrong must be corrected, otherwise, it would only fester to unimaginable consequences if left alone.

Contrary to her anticipation though, Zhao Kai didn't argue or get angry. In fact, he even took an extra step to apologize to Ardent Lance for his conduct.

"Sorry, Ardent Lance." Zhao Kai said softly. "I got too excited and heated."

"I-It's alright…" Ardent Lance replied and tilted his head slightly, seemingly confused by his swift change in behavior. It was almost as if Zhao Kai was suffering from bipolar personality disorder.

Even Carmen was confused until she received another message notification.

Stunned, she opened it and her expression changed as she glanced around the surroundings before spotting Xu Feng's resting from afar.

'Are you being serious right now?' Carmen wanted to yell at him loudly for putting her up in such a ridiculous test.
