Chapter 376: Mana Link
While Theodore and Lara's private conversation was ongoing, Xu Feng himself had established the mana link with the Mini Earthrender.
Once the mana link was constructed, there was now an intangible sense of aura that was only special between them.
"It seems like you have grown stronger from the mana link." Xu Feng mused, noticing its sudden surge of aura.
The reason why he even bothered to establish the mana link with the Registration Link item in the first place was because of this benefit.
Currently, Xu Feng was stronger than the Mini Earthrender, so part of his mana and attributes were shared with it.
Of course, the sharing does not actually affect his actual mana and attributes.
It remained the same, but the Mini Earthrender would be similar to borrowing his attributes and mana without actually taking it from him.
Such a mana link was a win-win situation for the owner and their pet. In fact, once the Mini Earthrender grew stronger, the one benefiting from it would be Xu Feng.
Rubbing its small, rocky head, Xu Feng smiled, "Shall we test what skills you actually have in store?"
Initially unsure or understanding its owner much, with the mana link established, the Mini Earthrender seemed to have comprehended or at least understood what Xu Feng meant.
It coyly rubbed its head around Xu Feng's soft hand and chirped happily.
When obtaining a pet, most players probably thought they could just analyze its skills on the spot like in some other video game.
However, that was actually far from the truth.
Other than the evolution and growth process was revealed to players, allowing them to see the progress.
Nearly 90 percent of the things revolving around their pets required the help of the Pet Association— or more specifically, the special equipment devices that only the Pet Association had.
The Pet Association's shrewd nature ensured their monopolization, with only a few individuals not needing the association's help.
Shortly after waiting in line for another few minutes, it was finally Xu Feng's turn.
"Hi, how may I help you." The female clerk behind the counter asked softly.
"I wish to rent a pet assessment room." Xu Feng responded.
The pet assessment room was a special room designed specifically to test the pet's potential, growth, and power. Within the room, there were many complex runes and formations to power up the function.
As for the precise details, not even Xu Feng himself knew much about it.
"Understood, there are three types of pet assessment rooms: basic tier, advanced tier, and elite tier. May I know which tier room you wish to rent?" The clerk offered and showed the details.
It was basic procedure, so unless the customers themselves went straight to the detail, they were required to explain it in detail. Although it was repetitive and boring, the pay was great, so they could only continue to do so.
Glancing at the detail, Xu Feng furrowed his brows.
A basic tier room costs 10 copper coins per 30 minutes, an advanced tier room costs 5 silver coins per 30 minutes, and lastly, the elite tier room costs 1 gold coin per 30 minutes.
Such pricing was a scam, to say the least. After all, to improve your pet's strength, not renting the elite tier room was a dumb move.
Each of the tier rooms functioned nearly the same, but the effects were totally different.
Think of it like one needed to grind monsters for experience points. The basic tier would provide only level 1 monsters whereas the elite tier provided level 30 monsters.
Both tier rooms provided monsters for players to hunt and grind for experience points, but even a fool knew the level 30 monsters give more compared to the level 1 monster.
'This is really a place even more scummy than me.' Xu Feng inwardly cursed, especially when the interval time was 30 minutes before one must be required to pay again to activate the function.
Additionally, they had a policy of no refund.
Once a person rented the room, the association would not refund the money no matter the reasons. And if you entered the room and then exit midway. The timer would not pause whatsoever.
"Sir, have you decided which room to rent?" The female clerk asked after seeing Xu Feng silent for a few minutes.
"There are still customers waiting on the line, so I hope you can make a decision soon." She patiently urged him in a polite tone. She didn't care how long a customer would take, given she was still being paid regardless.
However, the same could not be said for other customers waiting in line.
Their time was precious, so to be stalled by another would irk them quite a bit.
Meanwhile, Xu Feng snapped out of his thoughts and nodded.
"I'll choose to rent an Elite Tier room for 30 minutes." He said, retrieved 1 gold coin and placed it on the counter desk.
As much as it pained him to lose 1 gold coin just like that, Xu Feng refused to be stingy regarding the Mini Earthrender's growth.
At the end of the day, this was his pet and its strength would boost his adventure. Being stingy now was equivalent to halting his power.
"Very well, this is your token." The female clerk readily accepted the gold coin and proceeded with the process.
"When the time is up, the function within the room will cease all activity, and you should leave within 3 minutes." She handed him the token and warned softly.
Accepting the token, Xu Feng turned around and proceeded to head toward a magical-powered platform.

After entering the platform, Xu Feng hovered the token to a scanner.
The token itself acted as a pass and permission to enter the upper level of the floor.
This was to prevent an incident of some unruly people from trying to cause trouble or yelling outside to tell the occupied person in the room to get out.
Suddenly, the Mini Earthrender chirped in shock and wrapped its tiny tail around Xu Feng's neck.
"What's the matter?" Xu Feng mused. "You're scared of this moving platform?"
