Reincarnated in Naruto World with a System

Chapter 2: It Hurts

Uchiha Tatsumi stared angrily at the panel. "This is too bad. My ranks in Taijutsu, Chakra, Shuriken, and Hand Seals have only reached Level 2. In other words, I've just reached the normal level of an Academy student. Everything else is at Level 0."

"System, don't hide my strength from me! I feel like I could take on a Genin now."

"Host, this is your true strength," the system responded bluntly.

Uchiha Tatsumi's expression turned bitter as he quickly understood the system's settings. The system currently had 13 attribute indicators, almost all standard indicators for judging a ninja. Whether it was Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, or the elemental nature of wind, fire, lightning, water, and earth, these were the most standard attributes to measure a ninja's talent.

In recent years, Uchiha Tatsumi had only been exposed to Chakra extraction, shuriken training, and simple Taijutsu and hand seal practices due to his young age. Because of his mature thinking, he was calmer than most children. The two years of training had brought him to the level of an ordinary Academy student.

Although his current strength was considered very good among his peers, it was just "good" and nothing more. Without proper guidance, he couldn't fully develop his potential. Kakashi graduated at 5 years old and became a Chunin at 6, thanks to his outstanding innate talent and the guidance he received. The difference between having a teacher and learning alone was immense.

Uchiha Tatsumi's father, Uchiha Kagami, was a disciple of the Second Hokage. Kagami was a man with a vision beyond the clan, like Shisui. Such people were not easily accepted by the clan. Tatsumi had been relying on the scrolls left by his father, which were too basic and did not match his potential.

Compared to children who received proper training, Uchiha Tatsumi was just an ordinary child, not fitting the role of Uchiha Kagami's son, the father of the famous Uchiha Shisui. Was talent not inherited? Did he run out of luck? Uchiha Tatsumi wondered.

Realizing he needed to work harder, Uchiha Tatsumi decided to make himself noticed at the Academy. If he wanted to be assigned a good Jonin teacher when he graduated, he had to showcase his talent. Konoha only nurtured two kinds of people: the future of Konoha and the cannon fodder. If Uchiha Tatsumi didn't gain special attention from Konoha, he would end up as cannon fodder in the upcoming Second Shinobi World War.

His current goal was to become stronger. He had found the pattern: as long as he exercised hard, he could earn ninja points, regardless of the immediate effect. He decided to add his 2,000 points to each indicator.

Uchiha Tatsumi's eyes widened as he saw his ninja points: 0. "Wait, what's going on? It must be an illusion. Stupid system, come out!"

"Host, what's the matter?" the system responded without any fluctuation.

"Where are my ninja points?" Uchiha Tatsumi gritted his teeth.

"2,000 points were used to open the panel."

"What?! It took 2,000 points just to open the panel!" Uchiha Tatsumi clenched his teeth in frustration.

"Yes, host. Correct. Add 1 ninja point."

Uchiha Tatsumi didn't give up and continued, "Are there any newbie packages?"

"Yes."

"Why didn't you say so earlier?"

"You didn't ask."

Uchiha Tatsumi decided to wait until he became a peerless expert before discarding this annoying system. "Host, open the panel, complete the novice mission, and receive a newbie gift package. I wish you good luck."

"Benefits, benefits!" Uchiha Tatsumi felt relieved. He lost 2,000 points, so he hoped to get something worthwhile. Wood-Style, Sharingan, or Chakra would do.

A new item appeared in the system interface, "Newbie Pack." The instructions read: Hit me, come hit me!

"Okay, open the gift package!" Uchiha Tatsumi gritted his teeth.

"The newbie package has been successfully opened. Congratulations to the host for receiving a 1,888 points rebate!"

"Host, thank the system with a grateful heart."

The [1,888 points Rebate Volume] would give him 1,888 ninja points immediately after use. Uchiha Tatsumi exchanged the rebate for 1,888 ninja points and added 1,000 points to the Taijutsu indicator. The Taijutsu indicator became Level 3 (0/2,000).

"Congratulations to the host for upgrading the Taijutsu rank to Level 3. The host's speed, endurance, strength, and Taijutsu understanding are greatly improved compared to Level 2."

"At Level 3, the host's Taijutsu is already like a top student among students."

Uchiha Tatsumi felt a sense of irony. "Upgraded anyway, no matter how much!"

He was going to the Academy to sign up the next day. At his age, with limited Chakra, Taijutsu and shuriken skills played a crucial role. He urgently needed to add ninja points to Taijutsu to improve his physical strength. The fatigue from exercising and training was wiped out, and he felt he could run another two hundred laps.

Uchiha Tatsumi felt extremely light and agile. "Is it the result of adding points?" He felt he understood many things about Taijutsu that he hadn't before. Moves that were previously difficult were now second nature.

As he tested his new strength, Uchiha Tatsumi condensed Chakra towards his legs. His figure turned into an afterimage, much faster than before. He felt like he had unlocked the Eight Gates Guy experience.

His movement speed and distance had vastly improved. But then he noticed he was moving towards his table. "No! My hundred-year-old elm table!"

With a loud crash, the table shattered, and Uchiha Tatsumi's figure finally stopped. He stood among the fragments, his perfect black hair and Uchiha clothes making him look unspeakably cool.

"It hurts..." he muttered, sitting on the ground. "Being this handsome..."
