Reincarnated in Douluo: A Million‑Year Samsara

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Apologize or Die!

They couldn't believe what they had just witnessed. How could a work-study student be so extraordinarily wealthy?

Rumor had it that Qian Yu had already lived ten lifetimes in this world, and every treasure he had ever acquired was meticulously stored in his unique system.

In fact, it wasn't an exaggeration to say that his wealth now surpassed that of an entire kingdom.

"Who is this kid?"

one student whispered, eyes wide with disbelief.

"How can he be so rich?" another added, while yet another scoffed, "If he's so loaded, why would he choose to live in a work-study dormitory?"

The older students, already chattering amongst themselves, fell silent when a confident sixth grader declared, "Someone who spends so freely must be someone we shouldn't mess with. Let's go!"

As a group of those who had just mocked Qian Yu moved to leave, a clear voice cut through the murmurs.

"Wait…"

Qian Yu's calm tone resonated as everyone turned back. Standing with an unruffled expression, he gestured toward Xiao Wu, who was standing by his side, and said in a steady, unwavering voice, "Come over and apologize to her."

Their initial defiance gave way to snide remarks.

"Who do you think you are?"

"Why should we apologize?"

One retorted. "Don't think your money makes you important!" another sneered.

"Do you even know who we are?" they demanded in unison.

Before they could press on, a series of loud, echoing thuds—bang, bang, bang—suddenly filled the cafeteria.

The same older students that had been mocking now dropped to their knees as an overwhelming, palpable force radiated from Qian Yu.

One by one, they were pressed into the floor by the sheer intensity of his aura, fear tightening its grip around their hearts.

"What did you do?" someone gasped, struggling as if caught in an invisible vice.

Qian Yu's eyes turned ice-cold as he addressed them with a chilling ultimatum: "Either apologize or die. The choice is yours."

His words, delivered in a tone as quiet and final as the whisper of death, left no room for negotiation. At that moment, the threat was all too real.

With panic rising, one of the older students stuttered, "W… we're sorry!" His voice trembled so much that tears began to stream down his face.

Another, so overcome by terror, stood frozen while humiliation and fear left him visibly shaking.

After ensuring his message was received, Qian Yu swept his gaze over the subdued crowd and then turned to the work-study students trailing behind him.

"Alright, let's go eat," he said, his tone now warm and inviting.

The work-study students, who had long been the targets of ridicule and bullying, could hardly believe the turn of events. Not only did Boss Qian Yu allow them access to the second floor of the cafeteria—a privilege rarely granted—but his imposing presence had also forced the arrogant regular students into submission.

Their whispered exclamations soon turned into loud cheers:

"Boss is mighty!"

"Boss is the best!"

"Boss, you're amazing. I'll always follow you!"

Nearby, a master and his disciple watched the scene unfold. The pair, Tang San and the Grandmaster, had been observing from a discreet corner.

Although Tang San had initially planned to stay in the work-study dormitory, overcrowding had forced him into a regular one—with the Grandmaster's help.

Aware of Tang San's humble background, the Grandmaster had accompanied him to the cafeteria.

"Xiao San," the Grandmaster asked while watching Tang San eat, "weren't you and Qian Yu both from Holy Soul Village? Who are his parents, and how did he amass such fortune?"

Tang San shook his head. "He isn't from our village at all. Our village chief found him at the village entrance a few months back, and no one really knows why he's so rich."

The Grandmaster offered a word of caution, "Water that's too full will overflow, and the moon when too bright will wane.

Xiao San, always remember that being too high-profile can invite trouble."

"Yes, Teacher!" Tang San replied, nodding in understanding.

Later, Qian Yu led Xiao Wu and the others to the second-floor dining area. Despite her delicate appearance, Xiao Wu's appetite was surprisingly hearty.

As she devoured two chicken legs, she couldn't help but exclaim, "Mmm—delicious! Human food is simply the best!"

A gentle smile played on Qian Yu's lips as he responded, "What did you say?" Realizing her words might have been too outspoken, Xiao Wu quickly corrected herself, "I mean, this chicken leg is incredibly tasty."

With a tender pat on her head, Qian Yu replied, "If it tastes good, help yourself to more." "Thank you, Big Brother Qian Yu!" she chirped, her voice filled with affection and gratitude.

"Big Brother Qian Yu, why are you so kind to me?" Xiao Wu asked, tilting her head as she admired him.

"There's no special reason," Qian Yu answered with a warm smile. "Sometimes, you don't need a reason to be good to someone."

After their meal, everyone returned to the dormitory as dusk settled over the campus. "Big Brother Qian Yu, let's go to sleep!" Xiao Wu called out, her voice sleepy yet full of trust.

Qian Yu nodded and climbed into bed. In an instant, a soft, warm embrace wrapped around him—it was Xiao Wu, who had come to cuddle by his side.

"Big Brother Qian Yu, can I sleep while hugging you?" she asked innocently, clutching his arm.

"Of course," he replied gently, patting her head before drifting off to sleep. Under the serene glow of the moon, he watched the little girl with a fond smile.

In his past life, he had once thought of a little rabbit as merely cute, but fate had its own plans. Now, having Xiao Wu—this charming, spirited "bunny girl"—by his side was a delightful twist of destiny.

Later that night, as Qian Yu settled into a peaceful meditation, he absorbed the surrounding Soul Power, aware that his strength was gradually increasing.

However, he had reached a bottleneck. It was time to seek out a Soul Ring—a potent artifact rumored to reside in the nearby Soul Hunting Forest, where mighty Soul Beasts roamed.

Confident in his ability to battle even ancient ten-thousand-year beasts, Qian Yu planned to hunt a thousand-year Soul Ring.

Unlike the Grandmaster's theory, which held that only those of a certain age could safely absorb a Soul Ring, Qian Yu believed his unique constitution allowed him to withstand any Soul Ring's power.

For him, the older and more storied the Soul Ring, the more advantageous it would be.

His ultimate ambition was to ascend to godhood, and he knew that laying a solid foundation early on would ease the arduous journey ahead.

With that thought, he gently patted Xiao Wu's head and allowed himself to drift into a deep, focused sleep.

The next morning, Qian Yu awoke to find Xiao Wu sprawled on top of him. Her head peeked out from beneath the quilt as she rubbed her sleepy eyes.

Snuggling closer, she teased, "Big Brother Qian Yu, why did you sleep with that dagger last night? It poked me and hurt!"
