Chapter 1460: Visiting Evercraft’s Adventurer Guild
-----
After seeing Red’s Status, the girls were left a bit shocked, but it couldn’t be helped. I guess knowing they touched Demonic Beasts must be a traumatic experience…
The ones we dealt with at the Dungeon were much bigger and fiercer than these little guys though, it’s almost as if they aren’t even demonic beings.
Maybe demonic beasts born from a demonic authority that has never consumed souls creates an equally… "pure" demonic creature?
Although they still got a monstrous appetite equal to a true demon… their only rival in this regard would be Glutton.
And maybe Mist, she’s the annihilator of pastries.
"I gained a new Skill Scroll that contained some of the power of Allocer, so I gained a skill he had to be able to summon these guys… the thing is, because I haven’t consumed souls to strengthen these powers. The only demonic beast I was able to summon were the weakest of them all, this little guy." I explained.
The three girls looked at one another in confusion and bewilderment.
"I don’t know what she’s even talking about, can someone elaborate a bit?"
And Ruby was lost… I couldn’t blame her."Ah, we’ll explain later but yeah I guess that happens sometimes…" muttered Celeste. "W-What else did you get?"
"Um, a Skill from the Evil God of Dungeons?" I asked with a slightly nervous smile.
"Wait, what?! Really?" asked Celeste. "That’s not fair at all…!"
"Well in exchange for not being able to level up and rank up normally, I get to have these abilities and skills! I think it’s totally fair!" I said. "Anyways, these guys are like the same being somehow. Apparently Red has the power to divide… I think, but right now they had only divided once."
"That’s interesting…" said Celica. "So eventually they could become a huge swarm?"
"Maybe," I said. "Though I don’t know the specifics of how it exactly works… It can certainly divide and will do so more in the future… I hope."
"So now you’ve got those critters to level up and also we got Ruby to do the same," said Celeste. "I guess we gotta hurry with the leveling then, we can’t waste all our life in that."
"Well yeah, I was thinking on going to the big dungeon next, not today though. But we could visit a smaller dungeon? I’ve heard there’s a few around here." I said. "Though for that we should first check-in on this city’s adventurer guild! I think we haven’t done that at all!"
"Oh yeah!" said Celica. "We should try to register?"
"Silly, we’re already registered," said Celeste. "Once you register once you’re already registered forever in every other adventurer guild… usually. We have to show them our adventurer medals."
"I haven’t registered…" said Ruby. "How do I do that?"
"It’s not too hard? Well, I was able to register easily with my parents help…" I said. "But I think you have to just do a small exam. Sometimes a test."
"Huh… okay, I do feel quite energetic, maybe we could do that? you don’t mind?" she asked.
"Not at all! Let’s register you then!" I drank my coffee and licked my lips. "Let’s get going."
While Celica was still eating her mini muffins, we made our way to the adventurer guild, moving from streets full of merchants to a small plaza where children were playing around.
The noisy yet peaceful atmosphere of this city and their energetic drive was contagious, giving us as much energy as all the dwarves and other races living together and working hard every day.
Despite the cold outside, the city was very hot due to all the machines and smithies producing heat. Whole factories constantly producing steam were also present.
And because this was all inside a massive cave, the heat accumulated and made the place very warm!
Most people we saw walked around on shirts, and the cold outside served as a way to cool down the immense heat this city had, or it would be even more unbearable.
"Here we are, this is the Adventurer Guild," Ruby guided us as she knew more about the city and its places than us, serving as our tour guide, pretty much.
"Oh nice, it’s huge?!" I gasped.
It was a huge tower of over ten floors, made entirely out of steel plates, with several chimneys and windows everywhere across its ten floors.
"It’s pretty massive yeah," Ruby nodded. "I’ve heard its full of drunkards and aggressive people so be careful inside…"
"Sure," I nodded. "Let’s go!"
We entered the building by opening the metal door, pulling it and then finding ourselves in the middle of a bar fight.
Mostly composed of dwarves and some demons.
"Oi who the hell did you call a neckbeard?!"
"You horn-faced fucker come here!!!"
"I’m going to bring your mother your decapitated head!" Experience new tales on empire
"Who do you think you’re scamming?!"
They were beating each other like there was no tomorrow! It was a bit unnerving how hard they went. And once we entered, everything suddenly turned silent.
"Hey lads, the boutique is at the other street," a young dwarf laughed.
"Hahahaha!"
And the rest of the adventurers all laughed after hearing his terrible joke.
"Eh, what the hell is this place?" Celeste wondered.
"It really is very chaotic!" Celica said. "Not at all like the adventurer guild at Agartha…"
"I-I told you that it was a weird place and dangerous!" said Ruby. "Maybe we should go-"
"Where do you think you’re going without even saying hi?!"
However a trio of dwarves suddenly walked to our side trying to stop Ruby.
"It’s rare to see cute lasses like you around! Although I don’t like elves."
"It’s always ugly bearded motherfuckers."
"Are you girls single? Gahahah!"
"They’re terrible at picking up girls," said Celeste, crossing her arms.
"What did ya say?!" one of the dwarves groaned at her, he was clearly drunk.
"You stink! Don’t you dare give another step," said Celeste.
"Hah? And what if I do, eh? Don’t worry I like unruly lasses like you!" a dwarf with red beard, who seemed young, smiled cockily, pulling his hands towards Celeste.
"I told you to not give another step…" she sighed, as a shockwave of darkness surged from her shadows, encompassing the dwarf and then trapping him within a cocoon of darkness.
"Uuaaggh! Mmmgghh!"
He was groaning and screaming inside, but he couldn’t even free himself…
Naturally, the other dwarves weren’t going to let that slip though.
