Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 180: Open Gates

Kael and Chloe rushed as fast as they could, speeding over the waters and covering tens of meters with every second that passed.

Kael's heart beat faster and faster, he didn't know where the sudden sense of urgency was coming from but he could feel it clearly.

It felt almost like someone was about to touch his property and it caused palpitations within him.

Chloe flapped her wings, struggling to catch up with Kael, hoping to also reach that place as soon as possible.

If she and Kael could sense her signal, surely, Alora and the others could feel it as well. The chances that they were already there were very high and this meant that she had a chance to go back to them.

Thinking about this, Chloe flapped her wings once again, causing an aggressive gust of wind to push her forward from behind.

The two of them tore a long line over the sea as they moved, cleaving the water behind them into two opposing parts.

The two long fissure lines on the water stretched back for hundreds of meters and were slowly closing back to join into one mass of water once again.

They moved so fast that it seemed they were chasing the horizon and were afraid it would disappear from sight. Yet, Kael still felt that his speed was not fast enough.

The more time passed, the more he felt that unwanted hands were about to touch his property. He frowned, not liking the fact that his mentality was almost taken over by his sensation.

But this feeling served as evidence of what Stella had implied. The so-called treasure was already discovered and foreign entities were closing in on it.

These foreign entities didn't care that they couldn't understand the nature of the treasure or who it belonged to, they just wanted it and that was all.

Jet flames spewed from Kael's paws, creating enough force that propelled him faster than before.

Slowly, he was creating more distance between him and Chloe, yet it still wasn't enough for him.

His body expanded, his muscles bulged, and his bones enlarged. Two golden fangs sprouted from his upper jaw, jagged and sharp. His claws curved out of his digits, burning hot as they made contact with the spewing flames.

This transformation into his War State affected not just his main body but also his new wings.

The two large golden wings on his back also underwent their own transformation. They stretched out and the bones enlarged. The muscles grew and became dense and more compact.

Golden spikes grew out of the joints and the two tips, giving Kael a menacing appearance.

Chloe stared, awestruck at this transformation. Now she was sure, Kael was definitely not a chimera.

This transformation was just too…impossible to have happened. Yet, it happened right in front of her eyes.

Her eyes widened when she saw Kael raise those wings again to flap them. Those same wings that had nearly doubled in wingspan, those same wings that were now brimming with raw power.

Kael flapped the wings and he burst forth like a missile, creating enough force to splash the water beneath him and split it into a deeper longer-lasting fissure.

The air screamed as Kael tore through the sky at unprecedented speeds, a booming sound erupted from his movements as he neared the speed of sound.

A double barrier consisting of Space and Air essence was constructed in front of him to shield him from the bone-stripping power of the world.

Suddenly, purple sparks began to be generated from Kael's large wings, causing him to leave two purple-gold trails behind him.

Every flap caused a sound similar to a thunderclap. Soon the distance between Kael and Chloe had gotten too wide and she could only follow in indignation.

She was already going faster than she had ever gone before, her wings trembled from having to flap so hard and she felt as though her feathers were about to fall off.

With a sigh, Chloe slowed down and let the distance between the both of them grow wider and wider. Kael was just too magnificent, she realized, she was starting to believe he was indeed the Primordial Lion.

Two different powers, sure, she had seen chimeras with that, three was very rare but it was very possible. Four different powers being used at once was something else entirely.

Not to mention Kael only started using Air Lion powers after she signed the contract, something that was unheard of. She would be delusional to still think that Kael was an ordinary Chimera.

He didn't have the fiery fur of the fire lions, nor the electrifying body of the Electric lions, just a powerful golden body.

'All the powers he showed are linked to the lionesses in his pride.

The teachers themselves had no idea what a Primordial lion would look like or what he would be able to do, it had been so long since one appeared,' Chloe thought to herself.

She decided to just follow Kael's trail from behind, they were going to the same place anyway.

Over at the region that the signals were coming from.

The whirlpool was getting wider and more violent, the countless octopuses and squids had to move away to avoid getting sucked into the vortex.

Even then, some of them could not escape fast enough and got caught in the terrifying wave.

A white squid waved his tentacles around as he activated the two jet streams that all squids had. Yet he hadn't moved fast enough.

He squid noticed that no matter how he struggled to move, he remained in the same spot. What was worse was that he was slowly moving backward against his will.

"Guys?" The squid hurriedly sent a telepathic message to his comrades who were ahead of him.

The dozens of squids turned around to see their kin slowly being dragged toward the spinning water vortex. If they didn't act fast, their friend would die.

The white squid looked at them expectantly, sure that they would save him. He was the spirit squid after all, they needed him for communication since the majority of the squids had not even reached the level of being able to use telepathy naturally.

But to his dismay, his comrades just kept looking at him with fear and caution, none of them swam forward to help him.

He had overestimated his value to them.

"Help me," He shouted, but they refused to reply or move to save him, they just stared with caution.

Seeing that his comrades were not coming to save him, the white squid panicked and waved his tentacles around with all his might while sending telepathic curse words at them.

Why should they risk their lives to save him? Wasn't that too much to ask for? He was just a medium for communication, not their mother.

Perhaps, if they tried, they might have been able to save him, especially with how one of them possessed power over the water. The whirlpool was strong, but they could try.

Unfortunately, the white squid went beyond the saving point, this was a point of no return. The squid was instantly ripped to shreds after reaching this point.

This scene was appearing everywhere around the unstable whirlpool. Octopuses and squids were being torn to pieces as though the water was made of sharp blades.

"Xu Ying, what's happening?" Adolf asked as he looked over the edge of the magic shuttle to see the countless squids and octopuses being turned to meat shreds.

"The entrance of the place where the heavenly beacons are is opening." Xu Ying said lightly.

"Entrance? Do we have to enter a place to get those things? Aren't they supposed to just be lying around like they usually do?" Adolf asked as he rubbed his nose bridge.

Xu Ying gave him a side glance, "That should be the least if you're worried right now.

This whirlpool has traces of spatial elements in it, this is because the entrance that is opening isn't just to any place, it's the entrance to a whole separate dimension.

The spatial gate is stabilizing itself that's why the whirlpool is so dangerous right now,"

"Another dimension?" Adolf repeated as he realized something.

"Could it be that those heavenly beacons were intentionally placed on his world?" He asked.

"That's very likely. It's possible the ancient lion king knew he was going to die and made all these preparations for the next lion to inherit his heavenly beacon.

But that doesn't explain why there is more than one," Xu Ying sank into thought.

"Look, the whirlpool is calming down," Thawne said as he narrowed his eyes and his irises released yellow lights of fortune.

The lion youths stared down from the floating magic shuttle with disdain like gods staring at mortals.

They saw the whirlpool suddenly become calmer and less dangerous than before.

At the same time, down in the deep sea, at the center of the whirlpool, a completely stable portal that covered two hundred meters in diameter appeared.

The gate that separated the world from the heavenly beacon was not open, and with it, a rising desire for aggression was born among all the involved parties.
