Regressor Instruction Manual

Chapter 1075: Picnic (38)

‘It’s really over between us, you jerk.’

Kim Hyun-Sung was so annoying that I couldn’t withstand him.

‘There’s another regressor in Rohen. I can probably use the Regressor Instruction Manual on him.’

At this point, I had no choice but to consider that. He slapped my hand away and called me selfish. Then, he had refrained from chasing after me. He was guilty of those three serious charges. If he were someone else, I'd cut ties with them and throw them far away.

‘Jerk.’

This had already happened on that snowy mountain. If I were to talk about the seriousness of the situation, I’d say this one was way more serious than what had happened on that mountain.

“Hey… hyung-nim,” Park Deok-Gu said.

In addition…

‘He didn’t even send an apology text.’

When I opened my eyes in the morning, I checked my hand mirror but saw no apology text from him. I wondered whether he left Laves, but Kim Hyun-Sung was still in his room. After I went into my room last night, he immediately went to his room instead of heading elsewhere.

I couldn’t help but think that he was trying to bring me down.

“Hyung-nim, are you listening to me?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“...”

“Hyung-nim? Aren’t you going to eat breakfast? If you’re not going to eat that, can I eat it?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“...”

“Th-Then I’m going to eat it. Thanks for the food. Mmhmm… I don’t know why I can always eat so much food in the morning. Ah! About what happened yesterday…” Park Deok-Gu trailed off.

“...” “Nom. Don’t be too harsh on Hyun-Sung, bro. Nom. I don’t know what happened afterward, but you two looked like you were having fun while riding your griffons before all that mess. What if you guys fought over something petty? Maybe it wasn’t something worth fighting over.” Park Deok-Gu paused.

“...”

“And it seemed like Hyun-Sung bro drank a lot as well. Of course, I’m not saying that he hadn't done anything wrong, but I don’t think that what he did was that bad. He was drunk, after all. He did say some pretty harsh things… but he didn’t do anything that deserves a heavy punishment,” Park Deok-Gu added.

“...”

“It’s because he was drunk. I’ll tell him to cut down on the alcohol, so just forgive him. We’re on vacation, so we shouldn't be like this. We don’t have a lot of time left! We don’t have enough time to enjoy our time here, so nothing good will come out of being angry at each other!” Park Deok-Gu shouted.

Right, I could be lenient with him.

‘Since he was drunk...’

He couldn’t think properly because he was drunk. The punishment for crimes committed under the influence ought to be severe, but I felt like I had to forgive Kim Hyun-Sung, especially when he wasn't exactly mentally stable.

“Anyway, it was yesterday when I realized that Hyun-Sung bro isn't a good drunkard. Normally, he’d just sleep quietly whenever he was drunk… but it’s like he was possessed by something yesterday.

"It was to the point that I thought some sort of hypnosis spell was cast on him… I’ve never seen him act that way. Nom, nom,” Park Deok-Gu explained.

“Deok-Gu,” I said.

“Yes?”

“Stop making so much noise while you’re eating,” I told him.

Ah, ahem, got it. Anyway, did you listen to what I said?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“I was listening. A bit,” I replied.

“They haven’t said anything, but I’m sure the new guild members are feeling really anxious. We just think of it as some sort of annual event but think about how anxious they must be when the two pillars of the guild were glaring at each other and were fighting. R̃ᴀNՕ₿Ɛꞩ

"Even Ye-Ri looked nervous. She told me not to say anything, but this morning, she asked if you two had made up yet,” Park Deok-Gu revealed.

“...”

“Hyun-Sung bro must be regretting his actions… and I think he’s acting this way because he missed his chance to apologize, so how about you send him a text so he can apologize?” Park Deok-Gu suggested.

‘Should I do that?’

“...”

‘Yeah, I’m sure he made a mistake.’

He was the type to wear his heart on his sleeves. I was sure he had slapped my hand away, called me selfish, and chose not to chase after me because he was trying to vent out the frustration within him. He was probably going to apologize to me soon.

The more I thought about it, the better Park Deok-Gu’s words sounded in my ears sense, especially when he mentioned Kim Ye-Ri asking him if we had made up yet. At this point, I thought it wouldn’t be so bad to create an opportunity for him to apologize.

The Kim Hyun-Sung I knew was slowly becoming more and more mentally mature.

I nodded and looked at my hand mirror.

[Do you have nothing to say about what happened yesterday? But don’t think that things are going to be okay if you give just a simple apology like you do every time.]

“Did you send him a message?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“Yeah,” I answered.

“He’ll reply as soon as he sees it,” Park Deok-Gu said.

“I don’t really care. Let’s eat,” I said.

The text was marked as read, but I got no reply. He was probably thinking about how he ought to apologize, so I placed my hand mirror on the table, but it remained silent. Just as I started eating, my hand mirror rang.

I grabbed it, but…

[Jo Hye-Jin: Did you two make up?]

It was a stupid text.

“He’s probably still out because he’s hungover,” Park Deok-Gu said.

'I shouldn’t have sent that text. It’s all because of this pig.'

“I’m sure he’s going to send you a reply,” Park Deok-Gu added.

Park Deok-Gu had to have realized that I was glaring at him because he cowered. I had invited him to eat, as it had been a while since we ate breakfast together, but I had never imagined falling for his tricks.

However, he was too busy stuffing his face to notice my feelings.

The sight made me want to flick his forehead.

Ahem… ahem…

“What?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

Park Deok-Gu had to be embarrassed because he served me coffee with his head lowered. He looked like he was walking on eggshells, but he finally made a sound when breakfast time was almost over.

“Hey, Hyun-Sung bro is over there,” Park Deok-Gu pointed.

“So what?” I said.

“What do you mean?! He came here to apologize because you’re here. You said you texted him earlier! See, I told you!” Park Deok-Gu shouted.

“So what? It has nothing to do with me. Just eat your food,” I said.

I could hear Kim Hyun-Sung's hurried steps, so there was no need for Park Deok-Gu to shout like that.

I assumed Kim Hyun-Sung had come here, as he couldn’t think of a proper response to my text. Although I had decided to disconnect the Regressor Instruction Manual after what had happened yesterday, I could still feel his emotions without it.

‘He’s desperate.’

“Over here, bro,” Park Deok-Gu called him over.

“Good morning, Mr. Deok-Gu,” Kim Hyun-Sung greeted him.

'Too bad. I don’t plan on accepting his apology.'

While I was imagining the scene in my head…

“Enjoy your breakfast,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.

Ah…

Kim Hyun-Sung walked past the table where Park Deok-Gu and I were sitting.

He went to the breakfast buffet and quietly placed his food on the table before him.

He looked indifferent, and he didn’t even bother looking at me. After getting his food, he started reading the newspaper while chewing on his omelet. He was enjoying his morning and was casually drinking his coffee.

It was like what happened yesterday had never happened at all.

Moreover…

“You’re here, Mr. Cheon Kwan-Wi,” Kim Hyun-Sung greeted.

“It’s an honor that you invited me, Guild Master of Blue. You said you wanted to talk to me, right?” Cheon Kwan-Wi replied.

“Let’s talk about it as we eat. Ah! You’re here, Miss Park Yeon-Joo. Miss Hye-Jin will be arriving soon,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.

'Looks like he invited other people to breakfast.'

It was then that I realized what he was trying to do.

‘He’s challenging me.’

When was Kim Hyun-Sung going to learn that he would always be the loser in this kind of fight? Of course, the situation had to have made him feel determined so I could understand what he was trying to do despite the odds.

He even showed me that he wasn’t willing to yield.

Now that I thought about it…

‘I actually think that he has learned…’

Kim Hyun-Sung and I would argue quarterly, and every argument would always end with my victory. Of course, they were pretty trivial to be called arguments.

They were trivial things that were too embarrassing to list, and they would always be resolved in the same way and pretty easily at that.

Kim Hyun-Sung would give me a sincere apology, and it would end with me accepting that apology. I would receive many gifts during that process, but the gifts weren’t the important part.

The important part was the fact that I would always get what I wanted in the end.

Thanks to our numerous arguments, he had to have learned that fact—the fact that I would always get what I wanted.

‘That’s probably what he’s thinking right now.’

He wanted me to apologize first. Then, he’d accept the apology and use that against me to destroy my plan to go to another continent.

Of course, I could be wrong, as Kim Hyun-Sung wasn’t clever enough to drink with that plan in mind and fabricate this ongoing situation. He had to have done all this out of fury, but I was sure that he learned many things from me.

“Something suddenly came up. Do you mind if I leave first, Guild Master of Blue?” Cheon Kwan-Wi asked.

“Mr. Cheon Kwan-Wi,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.

“It’s really urgent. I received a call from Dawan… I’m sorry,” Cheon Kwan-Wi replied.

“Then next time,” Kim Hyun-Sung said.

“Sure. I’ll do my best to make time for you,” Cheon Kwan-Wi said.

In addition to Cheon Kwan-Wi, who had received an urgent call from Dawan, I saw other familiar faces. I found this situation to be pretty ridiculous because it was like he was showing off that he had many friends.

Most of them were famous adventurers and celebrities, but besides Park Yeon-Joo and Jo Hye-Jin, the rest of them weren’t really that great. It was different when the Mist Summoner was there, but he was gone now, so the squad looked pretty useless.

‘He must be crazy.’

“Deok-Gu,” I said.

“What’s wrong?” Park Deok-Gu asked.

“Bring Miss Chanelia Hermes to me,” I ordered him.

“Right now?” he asked.

“Go get her right now,” I told him.

It felt like I asked the wrong person, but Park Deok-Gu still obeyed me.

“God of Sacrifice and—”

“You can just call me Lee Ki-Young while we’re here,” I interrupted her.

“Th-Then I’ll call you Mr. Lee Ki-Young,” Chanelia said.

“Okay. Can you tell me about the regressor in Rohen?” I requested.

“Yes, of course! The data hasn’t been organized yet, but if you give me some time, I’ll organize everything,” Chanelia answered.

“It’s fine. You can just give me what you have,” I said.

Naturally, I looked through the documents as if I wanted to attract Kim Hyun-Sung's attention. Instead of his stats, job, title, and personality, the regressor’s face was printed on the first page. I first noticed his blond hair and then his tan skin.

He had strange earrings all over his ears, and there was a huge tattoo on his shoulder.

Overall, he looked pretty normal, and he wasn’t exactly handsome…

‘What’s with this guy?’

“What do you think?” Chanelia asked.

“He's…” I paused.

“...”

He looked like a punk who had dyed his hair blond and got a tan.
