Reborn in a cultivation world with my Ex girlfriends

Chapter 3: The Dao of Surviving Exes

Wang Li had narrowly avoided death. But now, he had a new problem—he had just sworn an oath upon the heavens to make amends with all of his exes.

In other words, he had willingly tied himself to four of the most dangerous women in the cultivation world.

Was this really better than dying?

As he knelt on the ground, still catching his breath, the tension in the room slowly eased. The flames surrounding Li Qingyun dimmed, Mu Yuechan's ice swords vanished into mist, and Zhao Lingxi put away her dagger with a smirk. Even Bai Lianhua, the imperial princess, folded her arms and looked at him with an air of quiet judgment instead of outright execution.

But the air was still heavy.

The four women stood before him like celestial judges, each radiating overwhelming power.

He had to be careful. One wrong word, and he was still doomed.

Li Qingyun was the first to break the silence.

"Since you're so eager to make amends," she said coldly, "we might as well see just how sincere you really are."

Wang Li forced a smile. "O-Of course! I'll do anything!"

He immediately regretted saying that.

Because Zhao Lingxi's eyes lit up with amusement.

"Oh?" she purred. "Anything? What an interesting choice of words, dear Wang Tian."

Wang Li wanted to slap himself. Why did I say that?!

Mu Yuechan sighed, her expression still unreadable. "Very well. If you are truly sincere, then we shall test you."

Bai Lianhua nodded. "You will accompany each of us for the next month and fulfill whatever tasks we assign you. If you prove your sincerity, we may consider forgiving you."

A whole month?! With each of them?!

Wang Li's soul nearly left his body.

Before he could protest, Li Qingyun smirked. "Unless you'd rather face our wrath right now?"

He gulped. "No, no! A month is perfectly fine!"

The women exchanged glances, as if satisfied.

But then—Zhao Lingxi suddenly stepped forward, closing the distance between them in a single movement.

Before Wang Li could react, she cupped his chin with two fingers, tilting his face up.

His breath caught.

Zhao Lingxi's crimson lips curled into a mischievous smile, and her blood-red eyes gleamed with something dangerous.

"Since you're so eager to make up for your past sins," she murmured, "why don't you start by serving me first?"

Wang Li shivered. He had a bad feeling about this.

Task 1: Survive Zhao Lingxi's "Favor"

Ten minutes later, Wang Li found himself kneeling on the floor outside the Celestial Lotus Sect, bound in black silk chains that glowed with demonic energy.

Zhao Lingxi sat on a floating lotus cushion, sipping tea like a noblewoman watching a public execution.

Around them, hundreds of disciples from the Celestial Lotus Sect had gathered, staring at the scene with disbelief.

"What… what's happening?"

"Senior Brother Wang Tian?! Bound like a prisoner?!"

"I heard rumors that he angered his exes, but this is insane!"

Wang Li wanted to die of embarrassment.

Zhao Lingxi dragged him here on purpose. She wanted the entire sect to see him like this!

She delicately placed her cup down. "Now then, my dear Wang Tian, let's begin your first task."

He winced. "…What do you want me to do?"

She smiled sweetly.

"Kowtow three times and say, 'Zhao Lingxi is the most beautiful and powerful woman I've ever met. I was a fool to leave her. I beg for her forgiveness.'"

Wang Li's soul cracked.

This demoness was pure evil.

The surrounding disciples exploded into whispers.

"Did she just say kowtow?!"

"He's really going to do it?!"

Wang Li clenched his teeth. If I refuse, I die. If I do it… my reputation is ruined forever.

But then he remembered something important.

This body wasn't really his. He was Wang Li, not Wang Tian!

Did he really care about Wang Tian's reputation?

Not at all.

So he smashed his forehead into the ground.

THUD!

"Zhao Lingxi is the most beautiful and powerful woman I've ever met!" he declared. "I was a fool to leave her! I beg for her forgiveness!"

THUD!

He did it again.

And again.

The entire sect froze.

Zhao Lingxi blinked. Even she hadn't expected him to do it so eagerly.

Li Qingyun, Mu Yuechan, and Bai Lianhua watched from the sidelines with unreadable expressions.

For a moment, there was silence.

Then—

Laughter erupted.

The disciples burst into cheers, shouting and clapping.

"Senior Brother Wang Tian, so brave!"

"He admits his mistakes! What a true man!"

"This is the greatest day of my life!"

Wang Li blinked. What just happened?

Zhao Lingxi sighed dramatically. "Oh, Wang Tian, how bold of you to confess in public~"

Wang Li realized something horrifying.

This wasn't a humiliation. This was a show.

And now, the sect thought he was some tragic romantic hero, desperately trying to win back his lost love.

His reputation hadn't been ruined—it had been rewritten.

Zhao Lingxi pouted. "How boring. I was hoping you'd resist."

Wang Li mentally screamed.

I survived… but at what cost?!

Task 2: Li Qingyun's Challenge

Just as Wang Li was about to escape, Li Qingyun stepped forward.

"My turn," she said with a smirk that made his stomach drop.

She pointed toward a colossal stone pillar in the center of the sect. A massive boulder sat on top of it, held in place by ancient formations.

"If you want my forgiveness," she said sweetly, "you'll have to destroy that boulder in one strike."

The crowd gasped.

"That's impossible!"

"That boulder is protected by elder-level formations!"

Wang Li stared at the enormous rock.

Then he stared at his hands.

…I can't do that.

This body was technically a genius's body, but Wang Tian had barely trained properly. He relied on lucky treasures, shortcuts, and sect favoritism.

He wasn't actually that strong.

Wang Li broke out in a cold sweat. This was an impossible challenge!

Li Qingyun folded her arms. "If you fail, I'll take it as proof that you're still a weak, spineless liar."

Wang Li's soul screamed.

He had one chance.

One option.

And it was the dumbest, most reckless thing he had ever done.

He charged toward the pillar, jumped onto it—and grabbed the boulder with his bare hands.

The crowd gasped.

"Is he crazy?!"

Wang Li gritted his teeth, forcing all of his spiritual energy into his arms.

One chance. One shot.

I either succeed… or I die.

He took a deep breath—

And heaved.

The boulder cracked.

Spiritual energy exploded outward.

The entire pillar shook.

The crowd screamed.

And then—

The boulder shattered.

BOOM!

Dust filled the air. The shockwave knocked disciples off their feet.

When the smoke cleared, Wang Li stood in the wreckage—barely standing, gasping for breath.

But the boulder was gone.

Li Qingyun's eyes widened for the first time.

"…You actually did it?"

Wang Li fell to his knees, barely conscious.

But before passing out, he muttered:

"Forgive me yet…?"

Li Qingyun stared at him.

Then she smirked.

"…Maybe."

Wang Li survived.

Barely.

But the real challenges had only just begun.
