Chapter 105 - 105 The Object of Obsession Became Someone Else

Chapter 105: Chapter 105 The Object of Obsession Became Someone Else

A classmate’s birthday was today, and in the afternoon, they took everyone to a luxurious upscale club in the city to celebrate.

It was said that this club had excellent privacy. Many officials, nobles, and artists liked to go there, and it was possible to run into a couple of big stars.

Wen Li’s roommate was incredibly excited upon hearing this and dragged Wen Li to join them.

Unable to refuse their classmate’s warm invitation and persistent pestering by her roommate, Wen Li ended up going along with everyone.

Glasses clinked amidst the boisterous laughter, and the spirited music blended with the joyous atmosphere, resounding through the private room.

After drinking a little, Wen Li felt her head spin because of the noisy chatter inside and made the excuse of going to the restroom to leave the room.

The thick door muffled the noise inside, allowing Wen Li to breathe a sigh of relief.

She checked her phone.

She wondered if Xiao Yu had been too busy to remember; their chat was still on the last question she had sent.

Wen Li’s heart was filled with disarray, unable to calm down.

Just as she sighed, she faintly heard a familiar voice.

“If I didn’t need to avoid the paparazzi recently, I wouldn’t have left Mother in your care, you bastard. How could you just leave her alone and come here?”

“She said she wanted to pick up a dress first before coming over, and it’s not far from here anyways.”

“The place has changed so much; she can’t use navigation, and yet you’re quite content.”

“…”

Wen Li followed the voices and saw two tall men walking out from a nearby private room, bickering as they went.

The man dressed in a black suit had a tall figure with a touch of coldness and impatience on his hard facial contours; his dark eyes were deep and inscrutable, and he moved with a leisurely stride.

The man beside him had his face covered by a hat, wearing a loose casual suit, glasses on his nose that seemed meant to disguise him. Even without seeing his face clearly, his graceful demeanor was unmistakably handsome and charming.

These two men, with their noble air, merely had to stand there to attract most people’s attention.

It was Ji Tingyang and Ji Zeqiu.

It had been a long time since she’d seen them.

Wen Li’s head buzzed, her mind went blank, and even her body froze in place.

She was standing close to the club’s entrance, and the brothers were approaching in her direction.

Their paths would inevitably cross.

As Wen Li’s palms started sweating and she felt increasingly tense, debating whether to stay or hide, a sudden voice rang out beside her.

“Why are you standing here, won’t you go inside?”

The door of the adjacent private room opened, and Wen Li’s roommate came out, surprised to find Wen Li standing against the wall in a daze.

“I’ll go in soon,” Wen Li stammered, taking a sneaky glance at Ji Tingyang, her expression growing tense.

“Oh.” Her roommate didn’t ask further, just noticing that the restroom inside was occupied and decided to go use another one.

She was about to pass by when her gaze inadvertently swept over the two men, causing her to stop dead in her tracks.

Coming to her senses, she suddenly grabbed Wen Li’s arm and whispered with a high-pitched scream, “Ah!!!

“Wen Li, am I seeing right?”

“Is that Ji Zeqiu?!”

“Yes, that’s him. Calm down,” Wen Li said, trying to soothe her roommate, who was so excited she was almost jumping.

Taking several deep breaths to suppress her excitement, her roommate suddenly had a thought and looked at Wen Li with surprise. “You’re friends with Ji Zeqiu, aren’t you here to meet you?”

Wen Li forced a smile, her expression a bit stiff, “Probably not…”

They didn’t even know she was here.

“Let’s go say hello.” Her roommate’s attention was all on Ji Zeqiu; she didn’t hear Wen Li clearly and pulled her toward them to greet them.

“Wait… Ah.”

In the midst of the tussle, Wen Li lost her balance and stumbled, falling squarely on the ground.

“I’m so sorry, so sorry,” her roommate hastily apologized, reaching out to help her up, “Wen Li, are you okay?”

It was too embarrassing.

Wen Li’s cheeks were burning hot. Just as she was about to push herself up from the floor, she saw Ji Tingyang and Ji Zeqiu nearby, their expressions changing abruptly, their footsteps quickening as they walked toward her in a flurry.

A ripple disturbed the calm waters of her heart, and a moment of panic flashed through her eyes.

Were they coming for her?

Did they see her fall?

Wen Li scrambled to her feet, and as they approached, she said nervously, “I, I’m not…”

Before she could finish, the two brushed past her.

It was as if they didn’t see Wen Li at all, walking straight past her.

“What happened to your forehead?!”

“Are you hurt?!”

Their voices, shocked and worried, rose behind her.

Wen Li looked back to see Ji Tingyang holding a woman’s hand, his dark eyes filled with intense unease and concern, his low voice trembling subtly.

He gripped the woman’s hand tightly, his composed facade showing signs of pathological obsession and tension under the glaring white lights.

There was a time when Ji Tingyang had looked at her with the same frightening intensity.

But now, his obsession had shifted to someone else.

Ji Zeqiu’s worried expression was no less intense, his hands cradling the woman’s face, his eyes fixed on the reddened patch of skin on her forehead.

The woman cried out in pain the moment his fingertips made contact.

“Hiss.” Lin Xu swatted Ji Zeqiu’s hand away, holding her forehead and drawing a sharp breath, “The glass door at the clubhouse was too clean, I didn’t notice it and accidentally walked into it.”

The impact was so severe that a large area swelled up red in less than two seconds.

Although it was nothing serious, Ji Tingyang and Ji Zeqiu acted as if it was a major crisis, insisting on taking her to the hospital for a check-up.

“It’s all Ji Tingyang’s fault, this useless guy. If he had brought you over, you wouldn’t have been hurt,” Ji Zeqiu frowned, seizing the opportunity to belittle Ji Tingyang in front of Lin Xu.

Ji Tingyang’s face darkened, his aura heavy and repressed, but unusually, he didn’t retort, apparently feeling regretful as well.

“It’s my own fault for not being careful, it has nothing to do with you,” Lin Xu tiptoed and patted Ji Tingyang’s head, urging him not to blame himself.

Ji Tingyang’s gloomy expression finally eased.

“Alright, let’s go eat, I’m starving,” Lin Xu placated the two brothers who wanted to rush her to the hospital.

“I’ve already ordered food for you!” Ji Tingyang moved quickly, pulling her towards the private room.

Ji Zeqiu followed.

As they passed by Wen Li again, an excited voice called out to him.

“Ji Zeqiu!”

Ji Zeqiu stopped in his tracks.

Wen Li’s roommate, thrilled, said to him, “I’m Wen Li’s friend, you probably know each other, can I get your autograph?”

Hearing this, Ji Zeqiu turned toward her and for the first time noticed that Wen Li was also there.

Their eyes met.

He saw Wen Li’s reddened eyes.
