Rebirth Of The Second Strongest

Chapter 2: The Sequence

**11:30**

Jayde couldn't help but feel anticipation as he looked at the clock. He had spent fifty-two whole years preparing for this day.

**11:43**

Jayde did nothing but continuously stare at the clock. If one looked closely, they would notice faint simmering veins running through the whole building. It was the same around the world; all of Jayde's properties could be seen glowing.

**11:56**

Even children could notice the shift in the atmosphere. All humans and beasts alike could feel the slight changes taking place. It was as though Earth was rewriting its very own laws. Various machinery began shutting down one by one, and different power plants were rendered inactive.

**11:58**

Suddenly, there was a global power outage. Electricity, cars, and all other forms of technology were rendered inactive. Earth had changed at its very core. The laws of reality had been rewritten. But even in all this chaos, the government was prepared. Their key facilities and some private organizations remained unaffected. The government used this opportunity to establish their power and took measures to calm the mass hysteria.

**12:00**

'Finally, it had begun,' Jayde thought to himself.

Suddenly, all humans and animals around the world saw and heard the same voice directly in their heads as an interface popped up into their view.

[INITIATING SEQUENCE.....]

[SEQUENCE ACTIVATED....]

[ADMINISTERING TALENTS...…]

Immediately after the last statement, all hell broke loose. Everyone began writhing on the ground, feeling a pain that surfaced from their very souls. This could be seen happening everywhere, to animals and humans alike. It was as though they were all shedding their mortal shells. Even Jayde wasn't exempted from this as he lay on the floor, his body in a sorry state. But unlike others, he had an ecstatic expression on his face.

For fifty-two years, he had waited for this moment. He had missed this very feeling—the feeling of getting stronger. He could feel the surge of ether in his body, reinforcing his muscles. He could feel his bones being restructured, his skin being shed. All this didn't wipe the large grin off his face.

[ADMINISTRATION COMPLETE.....]

[PHASE ONE- SEQUENCE ACTIVATED.....]

After the voice spoke once more, the changes occurring around the world stopped as all creatures on Earth evolved.

Standing up, Jayde went directly to the mirror in his room. As he looked at his reflection, he smiled. There he was, finally back.

This was also happening worldwide. No matter what age anyone was or how fragile or disabled they once were, after the sequence, all humans on Earth regained a healthy, youthful appearance.

Along with these changes came something else. All humans now had a system.

Jayde didn't waste any time. He directly opened his interface.

Name: Jayde Bane

Race: Human

Talent: Darkness Wielder (F+)

Lineage: God of Darkness (Incomplete)

Physical: First Circle

Mental: Third Circle

As he expected, it was the same as the first time. Suddenly, he heard a muffling noise. He smiled as he looked towards the direction of his aunt. There she was, standing in her patient's gown, examining her body, shock evident on her face.

Her hair was deep black like his. Her once hazel-colored eyes were now sapphire blue. Her face expressed her beauty. But unlike Jayde, who had reverted back to his twenties, she was middle-aged.

"Follow me, noona. Your questions will be answered," he said. His words snapped her out of her thoughts. She now realized that Jayde was in front of her. Previously, she was too engrossed in observing the changes that had occurred to her body.

Seeing Jayde, her eyes turned moist. It had been decades since she went into a coma. She thought she was actually dead and wouldn't be able to see Jayde anymore. Now, having another chance to see him, her emotions were evident. After all, she never had a child; Jayde was all she had.

She nodded as she followed behind Jayde, who led her to a hall. There were thirty-six people in the hall, some subordinates and nine guests. The hall was rowdy as they talked about the strange event that had just occurred, but they all turned silent once Jayde came into view.

He directly walked to a platform at the very forefront of the hall. Standing in front of the crowd, he started to speak.

"I'm sure you all have just experienced the event that just occurred," he paused, then continued. "This is known as the sequence. By now, the government and various organizations should be briefing others around the world. The laws of Earth have been rewritten, reality is changing, and all creatures have been gifted with talents. The era that is coming promises to be a dark one." Once more, he paused, letting his words sink in, then continued.

"This is the first phase of the sequence. More is to be expected in the second phase. All of you gathered here are not here by chance. You were all carefully selected by me. Through my means, I was able to determine your talent before they surfaced. So now, I will only ask once: will you all enter into this era under my banner?" Jayde paused once more, waiting for their reply.

In truth, back in the future, he had been a dog of the government. So he had gotten the chance to look up details of various people scouted by the government. Using this knowledge, he had selected those with the most promising talents. Now that Earth was still in the first phase of the sequence, everyone's talent should still be at the F level.

It's in the second phase—the emergence of dungeons—before they were given the chance to grow stronger. But Jayde had different plans. He had not spent the last fifty-two years in waste, after all. He had secured various locations of future dungeons. With his knowledge of inscriptions, even though it was shallow, he had the means to activate a dungeon ahead of time, long before the second phase of the sequence.

Jayde silently observed them as they made their decisions. He was confident that they would agree to join him. They didn't have much of a choice in this department, but he had to maintain formalities, giving them the illusion that they were in control and had a choice.

He gazed at a certain individual among them—a tall man with a robust stature, red crimson hair, and deep black eyes. He met Jayde's gaze. He went by the name Valesco Griffin. Back then, while Jayde firmly held the position of second strongest, this man firmly held third place. He was known as the Blood Monarch. He didn't have any affiliations with any organization, which was why he never had the chance to move up in ranks. It was the same with Jayde. Even though he worked for the government, he was kept on a tight leash and firmly suppressed, not given the chance to bring out his true potential. But this time, that was going to change.
