Re-Awakening: I Ascend with a Legendary class

Chapter 381: Truth of the Grimworld Tree

Almond's consciousness that arrived in this mysterious place was startled as he heard the voice and immediately responded. "Who are you?"

"Why did I see this Omega at first, while in the official database, there was no chaotic dimension like this?"

A laugh echoed in response to Almond's questions.

"I'll answer your questions and tell you more since you are here. Let's start with my identity."

"Well, I am someone from the Grimverse, the same place from where this Grimworld Tree came from. My name is #$@%. Yes, sorry, but you can't listen to my name. The other words are something I am converting so you can perceive them, but my name is not something to be perceived as names in Grimverse are an asset, a power. Anyway, you can call me Vorgos."

Almond's consciousness had taken shape and was now before the Omega gate. "This is merely an illusion. It's not the same Omega of the Horizon I experienced the first."

"Yeah, of course. I can't afford to let you see the true one here, or Grimworld Tree will actually kill you."

Almond was taken aback while Vorgos continued talking.

"Now, listen carefully. You are trapped. Not just you, but everyone in your world is essentially a tool for Grimworld Tree to reach its next step."

"It is rooted in this world because it needs an immense amount of nutrition. Your world, the plane of 9999 cosmoses, was too weak, which allowed the Grimworld Tree to root itself in and begin transforming it. It needed to make strong powerhouses to get strong nutrition for it to progress."

"Moreover, this Grimworld Tree has a master in the Grimverse, and I am a captive of that master. There was only one way I could infiltrate, and that was through one of the Grimworld Tree's systems."

Almond raised his eyebrows. "So you chose an Insight Stone?"

"Haha, of course not. I sent a wisp of my power in disguise to prevent Grimworld Tree from detecting it and gave it instructions to appear before someone who can potentially destroy this Grimworld Tree from within."

"Omega of the Horizon is one of my powers. Grimworld Tree simply downgraded it and shaved half of its meaning to make it a phenomenon for people of this world. But when you used your insight stone, the wisp I sent with instructions felt you had that potential to destroy the Grimworld Tree, so it appeared before you in that Insight Stone, with the original Omega of the Horizon."

"You are my 7th attempt now. The previous six died before they could break the Grimworld Tree and get out. And now, the Grimworld Tree needs just five thousand years at most. Once it's done, it will return."

"But once it unroots itself to return, this plane of 9999 cosmos will cease to exist. The entire plane will simply be erased. Actually, the Grimworld Tree will simply turn the entire plane into energy and absorb it. Naturally, everyone inside will die."

Almond was shocked and bamboozled as he digested this information.

"So we are like…fucking nothing more than livestock that's getting raised for this Grimworld Tree?"

"Kind of, yeah. So well, you are the last chance now. You h- shit, you have to return now. Grimworld is paying a bit of attention here, and we can't afford to get caught."

Almond was startled and quickly asked, "How can we meet again?! How can I see the true Omega of the Horizon again?!"

But Almond's eyes opened as he was successfully revived in the Warden Grove, where he had designated his revival point since everyone could designate a spot for their revival that Grimworld gave.

Almond was still reeling from the truth of this Grimworld, but there was no time. Moreover, the time he spent talking to that mysterious person didn't seem to count in the Grimworld.

He contacted Lily as it was time to attack the second Hollow Defiler.

The other one was getting killed by a big party, while the last one was being held off in pure defensive formation with Lily and six other Supreme Emperors barely surviving against it with others' support.

That Hollow Defiler could attack from any part of its body, releasing rays of varying size and shape with utter destructive attributes.

'Lily, you can start now!'

Almond arrived and supported Lily while Lily began making her ultimate move, drawing her will, using her two Innate Talents—Achromatic Domain and Blood Reckoning, empowering her next move.

She activated Ruler of Dreadspire from her Ability Tree and combined the four Dreadspire Elementals while using the Axiom of Weakness to create a mark on the Hollow Defiler.

And then, she used Absolute Dreadspire Devour as everyone saw a hazy, dreadfully tall spire extending from Lily's aura, with eccentric branches extending from it at the top, forming a strangely structured mouth.

Exerting her will, she made it as potent as possible, reducing 95% of her blood as she became pale white and half dead.

But only for a moment, as the Absolute Dreadspire Devour unleashed dark red shining strings that struck the Hollow Defiler and absorbed 58% of its stats and power of recovery.

She could absorb Soul and Prana energy as well, but given that they were corrupted, she didn't absorb them.

Lily's aura burst out as everyone was shocked. She appeared more dreadful and powerful than the Hollow Defiler!

The other six Supreme Emperors suddenly made a move upon detecting the situation first, wanting to deal a finishing blow to the Hollow Defiler and gain more rewards.

"Nope," Almond's eyes coldly glinted as he forcefully halved their powers and erased them, even at the cost of straining his will more.

Right as he halved their powers, Lily stabilized with Almond's ability and unleashed an attack without hesitation.

Four additional arms appeared, each holding a dagger, before she vanished. In the next second, the Hollow Defiler was shattered into billions of pieces.

Almond's eyes intensely glowed as he clawed his hand, forcefully absorbing the dead Hollow Defiler to turn it into a true Spirit.

It wasn't possible to make it into a normal Spirit because Hollow Defiler was corrupted and didn't have memories. It merely had instructions that seemed to be berserk energy.

But if he absorbed everything, then he could convert it into metaphysical data and transform it into a true spirit.

The other group of Supreme Emperor Yezewan had just arrived since they had finished off their Hollow Defiler and saw this second Hollow Defiler vanishing.

Lily died after releasing her attack but was revived at Warden Grove.

Everyone cheered as the main threat was gone with no casualties thanks to revival, but at the place where the Hollow Defilers died, the cheers also died down as soon as a Supreme Emperor shouted at Almond, "What was that?! Why did you cancel our attacks?"

"Cancel their attacks?" Supreme Emperor Yezewan raised his eyebrows as he repeated.

The other Supreme Emperors with him were also surprised.

Almond turned his head to the one who shouted, a human man with long, wild, dark blond hair, wearing a furry coat and outfit made out of monsters.

'He is called Gojegar, I think. Trash.'

Narrowing his eyes, Almond coldly spoke, "Why did I do that? Don't you already know? You thought you could take advantage of our hard work and get a reward?"

"Fuck off," Almond added with a snort.

"You!"

"Let's all calm down first. Almond, what exactly happened?" Supreme Emperor Yezewan asked.
