Primordial Draconic Incubus With A Gourmet Chef System

Chapter 216: Lucian Sets Off

Grandma Jun sighed.

"Young Master, you aren't fit to live the life of a chef. You are someone who belongs in the clouds, while chefs are pitiful existences. Please, reconsider your path."

Lucian chuckled and placed his knife and fork down on an empty plate. He expected it from the moment he saw her hesitation.

"Did the Elders ask you to say this?"

"Yes… but it's also my true thoughts." Grandma Jun agreed straightforwardly. They were words directly from her heart. "I don't wish for the Young Master to die early. The lifespan of a Mage is almost endless if you continue to break through, but a chef's only future… is to rot away."

"Grandma Jun, are you pitiful?" Lucian suddenly asked.

"No… but," Grandma Jun hesitated. "Are you not afraid your Mage Rank will be delayed?"

"I'm not." Lucian shook his head and then stood up from his chair. "Let's talk about this some other time. I'm tired. Good night."

"Good night, Young Master." Grandma Jun sighed and watched Lucian leave the dining room.

The morning of the next day, Lucian woke up naturally, then took a shower, and donned a new set of the same robes from yesterday.

After a quick breakfast from Grandma Jun, who had woken up earlier than he did, Lucian made his way to the Sect's entrance.

Watching him leave, Grandma Jun sighed. "He's really going to Tianshan Mountain."

It was unknown who she was talking to. But soon, five figures silently walked out of the shadows.

"This brat. Just when will he learn?" A middle-aged man with a crown on his head asked, speechless.

"Sect Master, just let him go." A female Elder at the side said through gritted teeth.

The Sect Master looked at her with narrowed eyes. "What if he gets injured or worse… killed? We can't allow that to happen."

"He won't die. Just for that reason, we silently attached the Sect's number one Defensive Artifact to protect him." Another Elder reminded.

"I almost forgot." The Sect Master breathed a sigh of relief and patted his chest. "This time, he'll give up. I'm confident of that."

"Stop."

Meanwhile, Lucian had just reached the Sect's large, imposing gates when he was stopped by a disciple in black robes.

Black-robed disciples were part of the Sect's Law Enforcement Hall and were known for their discipline and unwavering loyalty to the Sect's rules.

Though… it was unknown how many had remained loyal in the face of bribes.

Law Enforcement Hall Disciples and Elders held immense authority within the Sect.

They were in charge of maintaining order, delivering punishments, and ensuring that the Sect's rules were followed. Sometimes, they even did odd jobs, such as guard duty or menial tasks that others might find beneath their dignity. Today, this disciple had been assigned one such task.

"Where are you heading, Senior Brother?" The Law Enforcement Hall Disciple asked, despite already knowing the answer. In fact, everyone in the Sect, from the Sect Master to the servants, knew where Lucian was heading. His journey to Tianshan Mountain had been a topic of much discussion since yesterday morning.

However, he still asked because he was tasked to record each Disciple's and Elder's movement in and out of the Sect. Your next read is at My Virtual Library Empire

"Tianshan Mountain," Lucian replied, without hesitation.

The black-robed disciple nodded and dipped his ink brush into an inkstone, before making a quick note in the logbook he carried.

"Very well, Senior Brother, safe travels." The disciple said after finishing his entry.

Simultaneously, the gates opened, and Lucian walked out, soon disappearing from the sight of the disciple and the Sect Master and Elders watching from a distance.

However, Lucian was unaware of their presence.

In his memories, Tianshan Mountain was a five-day journey from the Illusory Butterfly Sect. If his Mage Rank was not sealed, the journey would have taken a day, but with the restriction in place, he had to rely on his physical endurance.

However, Lucian had other plans before he ventured to Tianshan Mountain.

Roughly an hour-long run from the Sect was a small city called Qingyun City. That was where Lucian was headed.

The city was the perfect place for him to gather supplies and visit the Adventurer's Guild.

Along the way to Qingyun City, Lucian changed out of his Sect's robes and into something more casual: a simple white t-shirt and black shorts.

A few minutes shy of an hour later, Lucian approached the city gates. Not even a droplet of sweat could be seen on his body or a musky odor after running. He was in pristine condition.

He lined up in the queue and waited for his turn.

Not even a minute had passed, and it was his turn to be inspected by the guards in front of the city gates.

"State your name and purpose for visiting." One of the guards said.

"My name is Lucian, sir. I'm passing by and wanted to resupply, while also hoping to acquire a quest from the Adventurer's Guild."

The guard nodded, then activated his Mana Sense to scan Lucian. In an instant, surprise flickered in his eyes.

'This young man isn't a Mage.'

It surprised him, but it was not his place nor did he care if a stranger wanted to die.

"Very well. You can enter." Simultaneously, as the guard spoke, he signaled for the guards above the city walls to open the gates.

"Thank you," Lucian said as he entered the city.

Although Lucian was famous in the Illusory Butterfly Sect and in the Illusory Butterfly City, he was no different from a grain of sand on a beach to the rest of the world. So the guard and the passersby did not recognize his identity, especially because he was not wearing his Sect's robes.

That was exactly why Lucian had taken off his Sect's robes He did not want to be noticed.

After asking a kind-looking old man where the Adventurer's Guild was located, Lucian walked a straight path directly to it.
