Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Adventuring again (2)
G'day mates, haven't had a breakie yet?
I'm back and planning to continue this. I'm also going to correct some errors on the earlier chapters, there are a lot that can't be changed but I will correct those I can, especially those grammatical and spelling errors (due to some mistyping and autocorrect)
Anyway, let's pray I would be able to write a lot before IRL things makes me unable to write again. JDon my soul🙏

After lunch, we made our way towards the forest in the west. It took us about an hour to reach it.
"Hey, Yuu-chan, do you know what kind of Pokemon do you think there are in this forest?" Asked Saki.
"Well, we should be able to find most of grass and bug type Pokemon here. There should also be a lot of poison type ones and some Pokemon from other types who lives in forests. And there should be a lot of ghost type Pokemon and some dark type ones in a certain location in this forest."
"Uwah, I think Onii-chan would hate being here. He wouldn't like those he calls 'creepy-mohns' which are mostly bug type and ghost type along with the snake-like ones and the gooey ones."
"Haha, yeah. I remember that time we went to the Phoenix wonderland's haunted house attraction. He said he would take care of us since he's born to be a star but he ended up the one who was the most scared of it and ran away so we had to search for him. And it wasn't even that scary." Said Shiho.
"Haha, yeah, I remember it. He even had a nightmares that night and had to sleep with mama Rin." Said Saki.
There were multiple paths that go through the forest so we just chose a random one. While it may seems unnatural, they seems to be made by humans. There are some theories that the mini worlds inside the pokegates are fragments of worlds where humans and Pokemon lived before since it's also possible to find some technologies that didn't exist in this world in those worlds. That's actually where the first PokeBall came from, and from those, multiple types of PokeBall were developed.
As we continued our way thorough the forest, I felt a Pokemon falling from a tree above me so I caught it in my arms.
"Pie!" It was a green caterpillar-like Pokemon with yellow belly and red antennas, A Caterpie. It then looked at me without trying to flee which was surprising since Caterpie would flee when they find others as they're at the bottom of the food chain in the wild.
I got interested in this one so I took a luxury ball and caught it. It didn't resist and I easily caught it. Caterpie are to weak to resist anyway so it wouldn't have been a problem.
"Huh? Yuu, you caught it? Why did you catch a weak Pokemon like a Caterpie?" Asked Shiho surprised.
"Well, Caterpie lines aren't that weak, you know. If trained properly, and with a good strategy, they can even win against strong Pokemon like Salamence." Salamence is the only well known pseudo legendary Pokemon in this country since the local champion owns one. Most of them aren't well known due to the fact they're rarely used in tournament and that the ones that owns them don't share anything about them. Also, Tyranitar is still an undiscovered evolution since those who owns a pupitar never managed to evolve them.
"Eh, really?"
"Yup. If you don't really believe me then I'll show you by using it in my main team during my school days."
"Well, it's not that I don't believe you but it was a common sense that the Caterpie lines are among the weakest species of Pokemon."
"I know what you mean but there are a lot of Pokemon that are way better than people thinks. It's just that people tend to focus more on their raw powers and don't know there are a lot of possible strategies." Well that's also understandable since they would need to spend less time to train their pokemon instead of trying to figure how to better use a weaker pokemon but that would also limit their options.
"Whoa, Yuu-chan, you're really knowledgeable when it comes to Pokemon!" Exclaimed Saki.
At that moment, an Oran berry flew toward Saki but it stopped before hitting her thanks to Célia, her Alolan Raichu's psychic power.
"Whoa! That surprised me! Where did it come from?" We looked toward a direction where we found an aipom on a branch holding an Oran berry with its tail.
"Aipom pom!"
It then threw the berry but Miyabi, my Mawile caught it and ate it.
"Maaa!"
"Ai ai ai!"
The Aipom got angry and prepared to throw another berry.
"Hey, that's mean! Célia, let's punish it!" Said Saki.
"Raiii!"
"Thunderbolt!"
"Rai chuuuuu!"
An electric attack shit toward the Aipom who let go of the berry and his behind a tree. The thunderbolt passed on its previous location before it got out from behind the tree then used swift to shoot multiple stars toward us.
Lina, my Gardevoir, used psychic to make a barrier to protect us while Célia just tanked the attack which didn't do that much damage due to the fact the Aipom was much weaker. Some of the stars that hit the barrier bounced off and ended up hitting a Pokemon in the area.
"Turt!!"
It was a green turtle like Pokemon with a brown carapace and a tree shoot on its head, a Turtwig. It got angered due to getting hit. Hoshi-chan's interest was sparked when she saw it.
"Hey, Vileplume, let's catch that one."
"Vile!"
With her Vileplume, she went toward it and began to battle.
"Célia, use psychic!"
"Raichu!"
Célia's eyes shone with a blue light. Aipom got lifted in the air before feeling a strong compressive energy for a while until its protective energy got dispelled causing it to faint.
Saki then took out a PokeBall and threw it toward the Aipom catching it in the process.
On Hoshi-chan's side, the turtwig used tackle but it didn't do much while the turtwig bounced back and feel in the ground.
"Vileplume, use vine whip!"
Two vines grew from Vileplume's back before hitting the Turtwig causing it to faint. Hoshi-chan then took out a PokeBall and caught it.
After congratulating that, we continued walking in the forest. About a minute or so, a Pokemon jumped out from a nearby bush. It was a short, green, bipedal plant Pokemon with an eggshell like cap on the head, a Capsakid.
Hoshi-chan got excited seeing it and approached it.
"Hello you!"
"Cap? Capsa!!"
"Uhm, do you mind being my Pokemon?"
"Cap? Kid! Kid!" It showed a fierce look as if saying it wanted a battle.
"A battle? Okay then. Come on, Twhackey!"
"Thwackey!" It was a light green monkey like Pokemon with two sticks on its head.
Hoshi-chan sent out her Thwackey which got in position for the battle while waiting for the Capsakid to make the first move while taking the sticks from its head.
The Capsakid started to run towards the Twackey while its teeth got covered in a dark aura before trying to bite it.
"Thwackey, double hit!"
The two sticks on its hand shone with a white energy before hitting the Capsakid with them. The capsakid who was hit fell on the ground. I thought it would faint from that but it managed to endure it and bit thwackey, which only dealt a minimum damage.
"Thwackey, finish it. Branch poke!"
One of its stick shone with a green light and hit the capsakid with it causing the capsakid to faint. Hoshi-chan then threw a PokeBall and caught it.
"Yay~! Good job Icchan! With that, you should have completed your team right?" Asked Saki.
"Yes, with it, I now have six Pokemon."
"Yosh! I won't be left behind! Let's continue!"
"*Sigh* Saki can't stay still for a moment. Then again, I still need two more so, let's go." Said Shiho.
With that we continued our way. Even though there were a lot of Pokemon in this forest, it takes a while to encounter some since most of them hide themselves when they sense humans nearby or when there's a strong Pokemon. It's mainly due to the fact that most Pokemon in this pokeworld are pretty weak and peaceful. That's also the reason why the league and the government made a school near a pokegate on this island.
"Wait, what's that?"
As we traveled, we saw a gray weird shaped gray boulder blocking the path, though we can easily bypass it, unlike in the games where you have to find another way if there's a small tree blocking the way. When we were closer, we found out that the boulder was actually a sleeping Pokemon.
"Wow, it was actually a Pokemon! Wait, I think I saw this pokemon in the textbook! What was its name again?" Said Saki.
"It's a Rhyhorn, a rock-ground type Pokemon. From what I remember, it's very rare here in Yamato. They're commonly found on the Arion and Alkebulan continents and, though not as common, they could also be found on the west and middle Euria." Answered Shiho.
(A/N: Arion = America / Alkebulan = Africa / Euria = Eurasia)
"Oh! Really? Then let me catch it!"
"Wait, Saki, I'm going to catch it."
"Eh? Shiho, but I want it tho!"
"But you already have 5 Pokemon. I still need two to complete my team."
"Yeah but, this is a rare Pokemon you know! And it looks pretty cool! I want it!"
Shiho and Saki were having an argument and Hoshi-chan was trying to calm them.
"Ufufu, it's been a while since I saw those two arguing like that." Said Saki while chuckling.
"Eh, is this alright? Um, shouldn't you stop them?" Asked Sakura.
"Don't worry, Sakura-san. It's pretty common for them to argue like that, but they're still best friends."
"Vile!!!"
At that moment, something fell from a tree and landed next to Hoshi-chan's Vileplume while making a jingle which startled it causing it to release a stench.
"What the, what the heck is that smell?" (Shiho)
"This smells so baaad!!" (Saki)
Everyone couldn't help but pinch their nose due to the smell so I made a barrier to block the stench.
"Phew, thanks Yuu-chan. I thought I would die! The smell was so bad!" Exclaimed Saki.
"Yeah, that really stinks. Hoshi, why did…"
"Miiiiiii!!"
When Shiho tried to ask something, she got interrupted by a sound on the tree from where the object earlier fell. When we turned our head to the source of the sound, we saw a grey Pokemon falling from the tree towards Sakura. She was a bit startled by it but immediately extended her arms and caught it. Due to the momentum of the fall, she staggered a bit but managed to not fall.
"Um, are you okay?" Sakura asked the Pokemon.
"Min? Mi… Minccino!" The pokemon looked at her a bit then hugged her happily. It was a furry grey chinchilla-like Pokemon, a Minccino.
"Wow, a Minccino!! It's so cute. Can I hu…" (Saki)
"Rhyyyyyy!!!"
The Rhyhorn from earlier roared furiously. It was now awake, mostly due to the smell, and got enraged. It also seemed a bit tearful, also due to the smell.
"Kirlia, let's fight it!"
"Kir!"
Shiho didn't waste time and immediately challenged it in a battle.
"Shiho, be careful. It's pretty strong. Fiana, use defog!" I warned her before taking out my togetic to dispell the smell.
"Okay, I'll be careful. Kirlia, magical leaf!"
Kirlia approached the Rhyhorn and, instead of doing what Shiho asked, used headbutt instead and dealing not much damage. Rhyhorn counterattacked with take down but kirlia managed to evade it by teleporting away.
"Kirlia, now's not the time, it's a strong one so use magical leaf!"
Kirlia snorted before sending a dozen of multicolored leave dealing a good amount of damage since Rhyhorn has a double weakness to grass.
"Good, do it again!"
Kirlia did the same thing causing the Rhyhorn to fall on the ground but it didn't faint even though it got weakened a lot.
"That should be enough." With that, Shiho took out a luxury ball to catch it. Yeah, after entering my harem, the girls can now access the luxury balls which allows them to bond with their Pokemon more easily.
The ball caught in the Rhyhorn, was shaking for a moment before we heard a click, meaning it was caugh successfully.
"Yeah, I got it." Shiho exclaimed happily.
"Muuu, I want to catch it!" Complained Saki.
"Too late, Saki. First come, first serv..."
At that moment, Shiho's Kirlia started to shine signifying an evolution. Shiho was a bit surprised but became expectant. Meanwhile, Kirlia panicked for a moment before focusing its energy causing the light to disappear.
"…Huh? Hey, Kirlia, why? Why did you do that?" Seeing the cancelled evolution, Shiho was surprised and asked.
"Ki? Kir kir kirlia !"
"You want to become a warrior? Really?"
"Kirlia!"
"But doesn't evolving means you'll become stronger?"
"Kirlia! Lia lia!"
"Gardevoir aren't that bad though, don't you think Lina's cool?"
"Lia, kirlia. Kir kir lia lia!"
"You're really stubborn aren't you? I don't really mind if you don't evolve but why don't you want to become a Gardevoir? Also, why don't you like using special attacks? You weren't like that when you were a Ralts."
"Kir!"
"*Sigh* Because he's a man, he said." Said Shiho exasperatedly while also smiling.
"Well, no need to worry, Shiho. You can still evolve your Kirlia if you want." I said.
"Really?"
"Yeah." I took out a cyan orb like stone and showed it to them. "This is a Dawn Stone, this can help a male Kirlia to evolve into a Gallade, a warrior evolution of Kirlia."
"Really!? That's great, isn't it, Kirlia?"
"Kir! Kir! Kir!" Kirlia jumed in joy hearing that.
I gave the stone to her and said "But before that, you should teach your Kirlia Misty terrain, life dew and play rough before evolving since they would be handy and it would be harder to learn them after evolving."
"Okay. You hear that, Kirlia? You'll have to train to become a good warrior. But don't worry, I'll be there to help you!"
"Kir!" Kirlia was really fired up to become the warrior he wanted to be.

Reminder: Pokemon in this fanfic aren't limited to their movepool from the games, but it would be harder to learn the other moves, especially those that don't match their types.
I actually find it stupid that Gyarados can learn Hurricane but not gust.
Anyway don't forget the power stones.
