Pokémon: This Is Definitely Pokémon!

"Dratini, open your mouth."

"Mu!"

Gabriel held a glistening, golden Pokéblock in his hand and tossed it into Dratini's mouth.

This Pokéblock was of the highest quality, a luxury item that could fetch an astronomical price on the market. Having a wealthy father really had its perks.

After learning from Elle that his family owned a company that produced Pokéblocks, Gabriel immediately called his father. Soon after, Antonio sent over a massive supply of Pokéblocks, even instructing Elle to call for more if needed.

Now, Gabriel never worried about running out of Pokéblocks. Dratini enjoyed three meals a day of these high-quality Pokéblocks, along with the nutritious meals prepared by Elle, the family maid. After just a month, Dratini already seemed to have put on some weight.

Two months had passed since Dratini hatched. It had moved out of its newborn stage—one of the most vulnerable phases for Pokémon, where no training should be undertaken to ensure healthy growth. Now, with that phase behind them, training could finally begin.

After finishing the energy cube, Gabriel stroked Dratini's smooth head. Its skin was truly remarkable—no wonder even shed skin from a Dratini could sell for a fortune.

"Little Mu, do you want to become the greatest Pokémon of all time?"

Dratini blinked its big, innocent eyes at Gabriel.

"Mu?" (What's that?)

"Becoming the greatest Pokémon means being the strongest Pokémon in the world."

"Mu." (No thanks.)

Dratini bit into a berry lying nearby and sprawled on the sofa, clearly more interested in relaxing than in becoming the strongest Pokémon.

Gabriel sighed. The luxurious lifestyle hadn't corrupted her, but it seemed to have spoiled his young Pokémon. This wouldn't do—how could he aim to become a Champion if her Dratini was so lazy?

He needed a plan.

Gabriel's eyes fell on the berries near Dratini's mouth, and an idea began to form.

"Hey, Little Mu, are you sure you don't want to become the greatest Pokémon?"

Dratini nodded lazily, taking another bite of the berry.

Lying around was the best!

"Alright, if you don't want to, that's fine. It's just a pity that the greatest Pokémon gets to eat the best berries in the world and the most delicious Pokéblocks."

Dratini: (???*)?!

There's hope!

Gabriel sighed dramatically, licking his lips as if reminiscing.

"Those Pokéblocks are so delicious—just the smell of them makes your mouth water. I wish I could taste one of those someday."

Dratini: w(?Д?)w

"Mu!!" (I want to become the greatest Pokémon! I want to eat the best Pokéblocks!)

Dratini wiped the drool from its mouth, looking at Gabriel with fierce determination, eyes blazing with resolve.

It's fired up!

Gabriel hadn't expected food to be such a strong motivator for Dratini. This was like a super-effective move!

Still, it was good to see Dratini getting motivated. The road to becoming a Champion was long, and as his first Pokémon, Dratini was his ace. An ace Pokémon couldn't slack off!

As for the little lie he told to spark Dratini's enthusiasm, Gabriel hoped it would understand her intentions when it grew up.

Ah, so this is what it feels like to be a parent.

Now that Dratini had decided to become the greatest Pokémon, Gabriel "reluctantly" began its training.

He even prepared a special training area for Little Mu.

On the estate's training field, Gabriel stood excitedly before Dratini.

"Alright, Little Mu, let's begin your training."

"Mu!" (I'm ready!)

Dratini looked determined. To eat the best Pokéblocks, it was willing to train.

"Great! First, let's see what moves you know. Little Mu, use all the moves you can."

Dratini, being in its base form, had a total base stat of 300—not particularly strong among starter Pokémon. However, this stage was more about laying the groundwork for its future evolution.

As a Dragon-type Pokémon, Dratini had significant potential, especially with its powerful Dragon Rage move, which could be a lifesaver in dire situations. Whether Little Mu could use Dragon Rage yet, though, Gabriel wasn't sure.

Following his command, Dratini demonstrated all the moves it knew.

After two months of growth, Little Mu had mastered the following moves:

Wrap: Binds the target, restricting their movement.

Leer: Lowers the opponent's defense and may make them flinch.

Twister: Summons a whirlwind to attack, with a chance to make the opponent flinch.

Wrap and Leer were moves Dratini knew from birth, while Twister was learned as it grew. Gabriel didn't have high expectations for Little Mu, but then Dratini surprised him.

Dratini knew Extreme Speed!

Energy flared around Little Mu's body as it moved across the field with incredible speed. Gabriel's face lit up with delight.

Extreme Speed was typically a move for Dragonite, but Dratini could inherit it through breeding. It seemed one of Little Mu's parents must have been a Dragonite.

"Mu!" Dratini lifted its head proudly, looking at Gabriel.

"That's amazing, Little Mu! You're incredible!"

Gabriel showered Dratini with praise. After all, every child deserved encouragement to boost their confidence and enthusiasm.

Dratini had already exceeded her expectations.

Next, Gabriel began Dratini's physical training, starting with running laps around the field. Although Dratini, being aquatic, wasn't thrilled about land-based exercise, Gabriel ran alongside it to keep it motivated.

Initially, Little Mu wanted to give up, but seeing Gabriel running with it inspired the Pokémon to keep going, wiggling its body as it ran.

The field wasn't large, but they managed to complete over ten laps. By the end, Gabriel collapsed onto the ground, exhausted.

"Mu~" (Are you okay?)

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me. I just overestimated my stamina."

From a distance, the maid Elle shook her head in exasperation as she watched. Beside her, a Garchomp munched on a Pokéblock, looking unimpressed.

"Roar~"

"You don't think much of the young master's efforts, do you?"

Garchomp nodded.

Elle sighed, looking back at the determined Gabriel and Dratini on the field.

"Well, as long as I'm watching, it's fine. At least he's getting some exercise."
