Chapter 425: Chapter 13: The Real Protagonist is Online Again

As Ash and his friends ventured deeper into the dense forest, the lush greenery and vibrant beauty of the surroundings stood in stark contrast to the troubling situation they were investigating.

Despite the serene environment, the recent invasion by the Pinsir and the plight of the Heracross cast a shadow over the forest's tranquility.

While walking, an unusual sound shattered the calm—a mechanical whirring and clanking echoed through the trees.

It was a stark reminder that the conflict in this forest wasn't solely about Pokémon.

Meanwhile, in a nearby clearing, three all-too-familiar figures were hard at work.

The Rocket trio—Jessie, James, and Meowth—were manning a large mechanical contraption shaped like a giant Pinsir. The machine's purpose was clear: harvesting sap from the special trees.

"Work hard and make big money, get promoted, and maybe even get a raise to become Giovanni's right hand!"

Meowth exclaimed gleefully, operating the controls of the mechanical Pinsir.

James, his face lit with excitement, chimed in, "I never imagined this sap would be so valuable! It's practically a goldmine!"

Jessie, her crimson hair gleaming in the sunlight, smirked confidently.

"Who cares how it works? As long as we're making money, it's a success!"

James nodded, his mind wandering. "If we could secure more trees like these, we'd be unstoppable! Maybe we should look into expanding operations. Imagine the profits!"

Jessie's eyes sparkled as visions of luxury filled her mind. "Promotions, fancy titles, endless riches—we'll have it all!"

However, their greed-driven scheme came with unintended consequences.

Unbeknownst to the trio, their relentless sap harvesting had disrupted the delicate balance between the Pinsir and Heracross, indirectly escalating the conflict.

As the contraption continued its work, James paused to glance around, suddenly wary. "By the way… where are all the Pinsir? Shouldn't they be protecting this area?"

Jessie waved off his concern dismissively. "Who cares? It just makes our job easier."

Meowth scratched his chin thoughtfully. "Still, it's weird. Pinsir don't usually give up their territory without a fight."

The trio's musings were interrupted by the mechanical Pinsir completing another round of sap collection.

Their machine was efficient, but its actions left clear scars on the trees, stripping away resources essential to the forest's ecosystem.

Nearby, Ash, Misty, Brock, Woodruff, and the timid Heracross they'd befriended were closing in on the source of the noise.

As they entered the Pinsir's territory, the difference in the environment was striking. Unlike the desolate areas ravaged by overfeeding, this section of the forest appeared vibrant. However, closer inspection revealed something amiss.

"These trees seem healthy, but…" Misty hesitated, pointing out the scars running along the trunks. "These marks don't look natural."

Woodruff studied the area, his expression grim. "These trees are a special variety cultivated to support Pokémon like the Heracross and Pinsir. If they're damaged, the entire ecosystem could collapse."

Brock crouched near a tree, inspecting the marks closely. His expression darkened. "These aren't from Pokémon. They're too uniform—too deliberate. I think they were made by machinery."

"What?!" Ash exclaimed, leaning in for a closer look.

Brock nodded. "It's not just one or two trees, either. Someone is systematically harvesting sap with a machine, probably for profit."

Woodruff clenched his fists, anger flaring in his usually calm demeanor. "Humans interfering with the forest for greed… This is unacceptable."

"Pika!" Pikachu's ears twitched, its sharp senses picking up the distant hum of machinery.

Ash followed Pikachu's gaze. "Pikachu says there's something mechanical nearby. Let's check it out!"

The group moved cautiously, following the sound through the underbrush. When they finally reached the clearing, the sight that met their eyes confirmed Brock's suspicion.

A massive mechanical Pinsir stood among the trees, its metallic pincers methodically extracting sap.

Operating it with gleeful determination were none other than Jessie, James, and Meowth.

"Team Rocket!" Misty hissed, recognizing the trio instantly.

"Who else would come up with such a ridiculous plan?" Brock muttered, shaking his head.

"Looks like they've hit the jackpot with their latest scheme," Woodruff said grimly. "But they're destroying the forest in the process."

Ash clenched his fists. "We can't let them get away with this!"

The timid Heracross that had been following the group stepped forward, its body language displaying a newfound resolve.

It glanced at Ash, as if seeking guidance, and then at the mechanical Pinsir, its gaze hardening with determination.

Ash knelt beside the Heracross, placing a hand on its sturdy shell. "We're going to stop them, but we need your help. Can you do it?"

The Heracross let out a confident cry, signaling its readiness to protect its home.

"Alright, let's do this!" Ash declared, his resolve unwavering. "We'll distract Team Rocket while Heracross takes out that machine."

Brock and Misty nodded, preparing their Pokémon for battle. Woodruff stood at the ready, his experience as a forest guardian lending an air of authority to their plan.

As the group finalized their strategy, the mechanical Pinsir continued its relentless work, oblivious to the storm brewing just beyond the treeline.

The stage was set for a confrontation that would decide the fate of the forest—and this time, the real protagonists were ready to reclaim balance.
