Chapter 417: Chapter 5: Distribution and Lottery

Back at the Pokémon Center dormitory, Ash, Misty, and Brock gathered around a small table, the three rare items gifted by Professor Elm laid out before them.

"How do we divide these?" Misty asked, her fingers brushing over the Dragon Scale. Each item held immense potential, and careful thought was needed to ensure they made the best choices.

Ash nodded, studying the items carefully. "I think we should match them to whoever can use them best," he suggested.

He picked up the Metal Coat, its reflective surface gleaming under the dormitory's lights. "This one's easy—Brock, it's perfect for you. With it, you can evolve your Onix into a Steelix."

Brock grinned as Ash handed him the item. "Then I won't be shy about accepting it!" he said, holding the Metal Coat like a cherished treasure.

Next, Ash turned to the Dragon Scale, placing it in front of Misty. "Misty, you've got Horsea, and once it evolves into Seadra, this will help it become Kingdra."

Misty's eyes lit up as she picked up the item. "Thanks, Ash! Horsea's been working hard, and this will definitely help."

Finally, Ash took the King's Rock. "As for this, I'll hang onto it for now. I don't have any Pokémon that need it yet, but if either of you needs it later, just let me know."

Brock and Misty nodded in agreement.

With the items distributed, the trio celebrated their new acquisitions over a hearty dinner.

---

After dinner, they returned to the dormitory to prepare for bed. As they unpacked their supplies for the night, Ash suddenly remembered his pending lottery draws.

"I've still got two draws to use!" he thought, his excitement building.

He settled onto his bed, closing his eyes to focus. The familiar lottery interface appeared before him, the anticipation making his heart race.

For his first draw, he pressed the button, watching the colorful interface spin rapidly.

When it stopped, the result made him grin. "Big Nugget!"

"Yes!" Ash exclaimed quietly, careful not to wake his friends.

The Big Nugget, a golden bead roughly the size of a small berry, could be sold for 30,000 Pokédollars—a substantial amount.

While it wasn't a game-changing prize, the money would undoubtedly come in handy.

Eager for his second draw, Ash pressed the button again. This time, when the spinning interface stopped, his jaw dropped in surprise.

"Move Legacy: Combat Twister!"

Ash's eyes sparkled with excitement. The move was not only powerful but versatile, originally a signature technique of Digimon's Battle Greymon.

The user spun rapidly, creating a devastating vortex that dealt extra damage to Dragon-type opponents.

"This is perfect for Gyarados!" Ash thought, imagining the massive Water-and-Flying-type executing the move with its sheer size and strength.

After completing the draws, Ash took a moment to appreciate his rewards: a hefty gold nugget and a legendary move that would elevate his team's strength.

---

The next morning, Ash woke early to train with his Pokémon.

Releasing Gyarados into the training area drew immediate attention. The Pokémon's massive size and intimidating presence turned heads wherever it went.

"It's Mr. Ash!" a young Trainer gasped, pointing toward Gyarados.

"His Gyarados is enormous!" another whispered.

The crowd of Trainers in the Pokémon Center began to gather, some simply observing while others murmured in awe.

Ash focused on the training session, instructing Gyarados to practice spinning movements in preparation for learning Combat Twister. Despite the distractions, he remained calm and patient.

By the end of the session, Gyarados had made a small amount of progress. Satisfied, Ash recalled it to its Poké Ball, only to find himself surrounded by eager Trainers.

"Mr. Ash, how do you train your Pokémon to be so strong?" one asked.

"Can you give us tips?" another chimed in.

Though slightly overwhelmed, Ash decided to share some advice. "It's all about building trust with your Pokémon. Listen to them, train consistently, and don't rush the process."

The Trainers hung on his every word, nodding fervently.

Realizing he was running late for breakfast, Ash excused himself. "I'd love to chat more, but I need to go eat! If I don't, I won't have energy for the rest of the day."

The Trainers reluctantly stepped aside, allowing Ash to head toward the dining area.

---

Brock and Misty were already seated at a table when Ash arrived, and they quickly noticed the small crowd following him.

"Looks like someone's becoming a celebrity," Brock teased, smirking.

"Tell me something I don't already know," Ash muttered, sliding into his seat. "It's exhausting sometimes."

After breakfast, the trio packed their belongings and left the Pokémon Center, eager to continue their journey through the Johto Region.

---

Elsewhere in the Johto Region, a meeting of legends was unfolding.

The majestic Ho-Oh stood on a high peak, its radiant feathers shimmering under the morning sun. Beside it, Suicune stood gracefully, its purple mane flowing in the breeze.

"Did you deliver the Waterium-Z?" Ho-Oh asked, its deep voice resonating like a song.

Suicune nodded, its calm expression never wavering.

"Good. Then the next task falls to Raikou and Entei," Ho-Oh continued. "They must each find their way to him."

Suicune let out a soft, melodic cry, a promise to relay the message to its fellow guardians.

The two legendary Pokémon stood in silence for a moment, their gazes fixed on the distant horizon.

"He has begun to show his potential," Ho-Oh mused. "But the road ahead is long. Let us see if he can truly rise to the challenges before him."

As the morning sun bathed the Johto Region in its golden light, the legendary Pokémon disappeared into the distance, leaving only whispers of their presence.

The stage was set, and Ash's journey was only beginning.
