Pokemon : Rewind

"Come back, Onix..." Drake muttered as he returned his fainted Pokémon to its Poké Ball. He clenched the ball tightly, his fingers trembling with frustration.

Drake looked at his pokeball and showed a slight smirk, then he released his next Pokemon, "Snorlax Let's show them what we got."

Ash seeing this was startled he had thought that Drake will use the same pokemons from the anime, but here he was using a snorlax and this caught him by surprise.

Weighing his options he thought using Either Snorlax or Venusaur would be wise, but having two pokemon with the same species felt boring and he knew his snorlax would nail it, venusaur could benefit more from this match. 

Ash called out his proud partner: Venusaur, who emerged from its Pokéball with a resounding roar. 

The great flower atop its back seemed to ignite with life as the sun shone brightly on the partly forested field, glinting off leaves and vines. 

This was Venusaur's terrain—a natural home-field advantage among the tangles of verdant growth. But Snorlax was no ordinary threat. 

The immovable juggernaut had seemingly endless stamina and a devastating array of moves. Both trainers knew this would be an interesting duel.

The referee glanced nervously between the two titanic Pokémon and declared with a swing of his arm: "Begin!"

Ash was the first to act. "Venusaur! Let's keep our distance—use Razor Leaf!"

Venusaur planted its massive legs in the forested terrain and lashed its vines forward. Dozens of razor-sharp leaves spiraled out like a green hailstorm, slicing through the surrounding air and aiming squarely at Snorlax.

Drake nodded calmly. "Block it, Snorlax, and fight back with Body Slam!"

Snorlax didn't even flinch under the onslaught of flying blades; the thick bulk of its body deflected most of the damage, though faint slashes streaked its fur. 

Then, with surprising speed for its size, Snorlax lunged forward in a thunderous crash, shaking the earth beneath its bulk as it hurled itself at Venusaur.

"Dodge with Vine Whip, now!" Ash shouted.

Venusaur's powerful vines shot into the earth, catapulting its body backward just as Snorlax hit the ground with its massive frame, narrowly avoiding the attack. 

The resulting impact caused cracks to spiderweb through the soil, shaking both Pokémon but leaving Venusaur unscathed.

Ash clenched his fist. "Good job, Venusaur! Let's try Leech Seed!"

Venusaur's flower pulsed with energy before shooting out writhing, thorny seeds. The vines swirled toward Snorlax and wrapped tightly around its legs and arms, forming a parasitic connection. 

Light-green energy began to seep out in rhythmic pulses as Snorlax's vitality transferred to Venusaur.

Drake smirked. "That might slow Snorlax down, but it'll take more than that to stop him! Use Rest, Snorlax!"

Ash's momentary satisfaction turned to frustration as Snorlax plopped onto the ground and instantly fell asleep, its wounds closing up and its energy replenishing. 

The Leech Seed continued to sap life, but Snorlax seemed impervious to exhaustion now that it had entered its infamous hibernation state. 

The titanic behemoth stirred slightly in its sleep, looking oddly serene despite the battle raging around it.

"Stalling's not going to work—Venusaur, time to ramp it up! Use Growth, then follow with Sludge Bomb!"

Venusaur planted itself firmly in the forested terrain, drawing power from the sunlight as its flower glimmered and expanded, intensifying its power. 

Then, lashing out, it launched a seething ball of purple sludge at the sleeping Snorlax.

The Sludge Bomb hit its mark, splattering over Snorlax's body and leaving toxic purple stains. 

The crowd murmured in awe as the poison began to take its toll, weakening Snorlax even as it slept. Heaving with confidence, Venusaur roared, ready to turn the tide.

Drake shook his head. "Did you really think you could keep this guy down? Snorlax, use Sleep Talk!"

Even from its sleeping state, Snorlax stirred and mumbled before instinctively lashing out with a glowing fist. 

The Sleep Talk attack turned into a devastating Ice Punch, frost radiating off its fist as it connected with the side of Venusaur.

The Grass-type staggered back, the ice raking across its thick hide and leaving a frosty burn that made it flinch in pain. 

But even as Venusaur growled, the Leech Seed pulsing on Snorlax's body continued to sap its energy, keeping the two Pokémon locked in a brutal exchange of endurance.

Both trainers realized at the same time that this battle was about control. Ash needed to leverage Venusaur's natural synergy with the environment, while Drake was determined to counterattack with Snorlax's sheer bulk and versatility.

"Venusaur, it's time to make this field ours—use Sunny Day!"

The faint sunlight streaming into the battlefield transformed in an instant into blinding golden brilliance. 

An orb of heat spiraled into the sky, and the entire field seemed to shimmer under the invigorating touch of intense sunlight. Venusaur visibly perked up, its flower glowing as its abilities were boosted by the light.

"Let's go on the offensive—Solar Beam!" shouted Ash.

Harnessing the powerful sunlight, Venusaur skipped the normal charging time and fired an enormous golden laser from its flower. The searing light blasted toward Snorlax with enough force to scorch the ground beneath it.

Drake's eyes widened at the ferocity of the attack. "Snorlax, Dodge Roll and counter with Body Slam!"

Snorlax woke up from that shout and the energy radiating from the solar beam.

Against all odds, Snorlax pulled itself into a surprisingly agile roll and spun out of the Solar Beam's path, the brilliant light scorching a crater into the ground where it had been a moment before. 

As Snorlax completed the roll, it hurled itself forward in another thunderous Body Slam, catching Venusaur mid-motion and pinning it to the ground.

Ash bit his lip as Venusaur groaned under Snorlax's staggering weight. "Don't give in, Venusaur! Use Synthesis and push it off with Vine Whip!"

Thanks to the sunlight-enhanced battlefield, Venusaur's wounds quickly began to heal. Its thick vines lashed out, wrapping around Snorlax's limbs, and with an incredible feat of strength, Venusaur shoved the massive Pokémon off of itself. Both behemoths stepped back, visibly exhausted but refusing to give in.

Ash decided it was time to end this stalemate. "Venusaur, we've got the upper hand! Let's finish with Frenzy Plant!"

The ground beneath Venusaur glowed an ominous green before erupting in a forest of colossal roots and vines that tore forward like a tidal wave of nature's wrath. 

The attack surged across the battlefield, tearing rocks from the ground as it raced toward Snorlax.

Drake's expression hardened. "Snorlax, time to bring out your ace! Giga Impact!"

Snorlax crossed its arms and charged forward with impossible force, glowing with spiraling energy as it ran head-on into the Frenzy Plant attack. 

The two immense forces collided in the center of the battlefield, shockwaves erupting from the impact and nearly knocking the trainers off their feet. The forest terrain splintered, and dust filled the air.

For a moment, silence reigned, the field hidden by the debris cloud. Then, as the dust cleared, both Pokémon stood...but only one swayed and collapsed onto its side.

"Snorlax is unable to battle! Venusaur wins!" declared the referee.

Ash breathed a heavy sigh of relief, patting his exhausted yet triumphant Venusaur. Though battered, the mighty Grass-type roared weakly in victory, its flower shining in the brilliant sunlight. 

Both trainers looked toward the next round, knowing this was merely the first chapter in their escalating rivalry.
