Pokémon: No Way! The Golden Finger Only Comes When I'm About To Die!?

Chapter 178: The Enchanting World of Dreams

Angie then asked Yveltal for feedback on consuming the Tree of Beginning Tofu. When Yveltal replied that it felt exceptionally good after eating it, Angie felt immense relief.

All his hard work had paid off!

After meeting Angie, Yveltal retreated back to the couch to continue resting. Both Mew and Sneasel simultaneously let out sighs of relief.

Angie said, "Let's head home and take a look. Diancie and the others should be in the training room by now."

The Pokémon all nodded in agreement.

At this time, Diancie and the others were indeed training in the room when the sound of the front door opening reached their ears.

The training Pokémon, including Munchlax, Inteleon, Gengar, Passimian, and Magearna, stopped what they were doing immediately.

Who could it be?

Moments later, they saw Angie walk in with Metagross, Komala, Pawmot, Sneasel, and Mew in tow.

"Everyone, I'm back!" Angie shouted cheerfully.

"Munchlax~!"

The moment Munchlax saw Angie, it rushed toward him at full speed.

However, just as it was about to hug Angie, it noticed he was holding an incubator containing the egg that Pawmot had found on Mt. Moon.

"Pawmot~ Pawmot~"

At that moment, Pawmot leaped over and hugged Munchlax instead. The two Pokémon immediately started bouncing around joyfully, holding onto each other.

Diancie, surprised and delighted, approached Angie and asked, "Why are you back at this time?"

Angie leaned in and whispered a few words in Diancie's ear, and she instantly understood.

Soon, Inteleon, Gengar, and Passimian gathered around Angie, expressing how much they had missed him during his absence.

With Angie back, none of them had any interest in continuing their training. They all followed him into the living room.

Volcanion was the first Pokémon, besides Yveltal, to know of Angie's return. It hadn't been in the training room but instead was lazily sprawled on the couch, watching a Pokémon soccer match on its phone.

With Angie finally back, the entire household gathered on the couch for a lively chat.

Mew, Pawmot, and Munchlax began a trampoline game on the couch, their laughter echoing throughout the living room.

Sneasel wandered curiously around the room, examining the "luxurious" décor of the house with great interest.

Although it had lived in human cities for a long time and was familiar with many aspects of human life, it had never been inside a human home before.

This was its first time.

Given the poor and dilapidated conditions of its previous residence, it couldn't help but find Angie's home truly opulent.

Meanwhile, Angie sat with Diancie, Passimian, and Magearna, chatting away.

Diancie recounted various trivial happenings around the plateau in recent times. Angie learned that a few Marill had evolved into Azumarill, and the family vegetable garden had once again yielded an abundant harvest.

Passimian shared its recent brewing experiments with Angie and mentioned that Infernape had become its new drinking buddy.

As it spoke, the previously sleeping Komala rolled over and over, eventually landing in Passimian's lap, as though lodging a silent complaint.

Magearna also spoke to Angie, updating him on its progress in learning to make desserts and sharing its current frustrations.

Angie pondered for a moment before replying, "Alcremie, huh? I'll ask Kimia for help when I visit her next time."

The Azoth royal family was renowned for their expertise in raising Fairy-type Pokémon. They were likely to have a way to acquire an Alcremie.

"Magearna~"

I knew Angie could handle anything!

Hearing Angie's response, Magearna was overjoyed and hugged him tightly.

Volcanion, who was still watching the match nearby, glanced at Angie upon hearing his words.

"Hmph~ What's so special about that?"

It lowered its head and continued watching the match, but its attention kept being drawn to Angie and the conversation on that side. In the end, it was so busy eavesdropping that it didn't watch the game at all.

Munchlax, Gengar, and Inteleon quietly stayed by Angie's side. Just being near their mentor, even without doing anything, filled them with satisfaction.

Munchlax and Inteleon lay on either side of Angie's lap, while Gengar was sprawled behind him, its arms wrapped around his neck and its chin resting on top of Angie's head.

As time ticked by, it was getting late. Munchlax was already dozing off. Angie patted its head lightly and said to everyone:

"Let's go to sleep. Whatever it is, we can talk tomorrow."

The Pokémon nodded in agreement. Now that Angie was home, there was plenty of time for conversations later.

As the Pokémon began heading to their rooms, Angie turned to Mew and asked:

"Mew, are you heading back to your own place, or staying at my house tonight?"

"Mew~ Mew~"

Of course, Mew chose to stay at Angie's house without hesitation. It had just arrived; why would it leave so soon?

"Alright, you can sleep in my room tonight," Angie said.

"Mew~ Mew~"

Mew flitted about happily.

Then Angie turned to Sneasel and said:

"Sneasel, you'll sleep in my room tonight too. Tomorrow, I'll ask Diancie to arrange a room for you."

"Sneasel~"

I get my own room too?

Sneasel asked, both surprised and thrilled.

"Of course!" Angie nodded. "You're part of the family now, and a member of Nebel Plateau. You deserve your own room just like everyone else."

"Sneasel~"

Sneasel nodded, unable to suppress the grin on its face.

At that moment, Diancie approached Angie with the egg in her arms and said, "Angie, how about letting me take care of this egg?"

Angie nodded. "Sure, no problem!"

With that, Diancie left with the egg in her arms.

Angie then turned to Mew and Sneasel, saying: "Let's head out too!"

"Mew~"

"Sneasel~"

The two Pokémon followed him excitedly.

Back in his room, Angie helped the two Pokémon wash up before coming out of the bathroom together.

"Mew~~"

Mew eagerly burrowed into Angie's bed, wriggling around under the covers. The once-flat blanket now had a small, fast-moving lump darting back and forth.

Angie's bed is so soft!

"Mew~~"

After some playful antics, Mew poked its head out of the blanket and grinned at Angie.

Angie glanced at it helplessly before turning his attention to Sneasel, setting up a sleeping spot on the floor.

Sneasel, being an Ice-type Pokémon, had a cool body temperature. While Angie wanted to let it sleep on the bed too, his health wouldn't allow it. Spending a night with Sneasel would land him in the hospital.

Angie pulled out a large basket, lined it with a thick blanket, and said to Sneasel, "Try it out and see if it's comfortable."

"Sneasel~"

Sneasel nodded and stepped into the basket, curling up inside. Its sleeping posture was no different from that of a typical cat—so adorable and obedient.

Looking at Sneasel at that moment, it was hard to believe it was a Pokémon known for its cunning nature.

Angie saw Sneasel was comfortable and said, "If you like it, you can take it with you when you move into your new room tomorrow."

"Sneasel~"

Sneasel nodded, tugging the blanket over itself to make it snugger.

The blanket not only kept Sneasel warm but also insulated it, maintaining its cool body temperature, which made it feel more comfortable.

After making sure Sneasel was settled, Angie climbed into bed and got under the covers.

As soon as he lay down, Mew popped out from his chest.

"Mew~"

Angie!

Mew smiled broadly at him.

"Alright, time to sleep," Angie said, patting Mew on the head.

"Mew~"

Mew nodded, sliding off Angie's chest and lying down obediently beside him.

Angie reached out to turn off the light. The room gradually fell silent, and soon the sound of steady breathing filled the space.

Elsewhere, when Diancie returned to her room with the Pokémon egg, the two Spinarak and Mareep were already fast asleep.

On the nightstand near Diancie's bed was a small flower basket filled with pure white threads. The two Spinarak nestled against each other, sleeping soundly in the basket.

At the foot of the bed was a beanbag chair where Mareep curled up in slumber.

Seeing the Pokémon sleeping so sweetly, Diancie deliberately softened her movements.

After freshening up in the bathroom, Diancie carefully took the Pokémon egg out of its incubator. She placed a circular cushion on the windowsill, gently set the egg on it, and covered it with a small square blanket.

The reason for taking the egg out of the incubator at night was to prevent it from hatching while unattended. During the day, someone could notice signs of hatching immediately, but at night, if the egg hatched inside the incubator, the baby Pokémon could feel trapped and uncomfortable.

Once the egg was properly settled, Diancie climbed into bed, turned off the lights, pulled up her blanket, and closed her eyes.

Before long, the soft sound of Diancie's breathing filled the room.

However, what Diancie didn't know was that not long after she fell asleep, the egg on the windowsill began to emit a faint pink glow.

Every so often, the egg flickered with light. When midnight arrived, and the moonlight poured in through the window, the entire egg started glowing, gradually enveloped in a radiant light.

After some time, the glow faded, revealing a soft pink, round-bodied Pokémon with flower-like patterns on its body. Its eyes were a striking rose red—large, bright, and filled with wonder.

It turned out the egg Pawmot found was a Munna's egg!

After its birth, Munna looked around curiously.

Although it was nighttime, the moonlight bathed the room, making everything visible.

When Munna saw Diancie sleeping on the bed, its eyes lit up.

"Munna~"

Munna floated over to Diancie and unhesitatingly snuggled into her blanket.

As Munna slept, it began emitting wisps of pink mist from its body.

These dreamy mists spread gently across the room, gradually being inhaled by Diancie, Mareep, and the Spinarak as they slept.

In her dreams, Diancie suddenly found herself in an unfamiliar place.

It was a lush garden filled with vibrant greenery, towering trees, brilliant flowers, and abundant fruits hanging from branches.

It lowered its head and suddenly noticed two Spinarak standing beside it. Surprised, it asked, "How did you two end up here as well?"

Diancie immediately recognized the two Spinarak as its companions.

"Spinarak~"

"Spinarak~"

The two Spinarak appeared just as confused. Weren't they sleeping? How did they get here?

Suddenly, a realization struck Diancie. "Oh, that's it! We must be dreaming!"

"Spinarak~"

"Spinarak~"

The two Spinarak exchanged looks of understanding.

"But what is this place?" Diancie looked around, puzzled.

"Spinarak~"

"Spinarak~"

The two Spinarak shook their heads; they were just as clueless.

"Well, let's explore and see what we can find," Diancie suggested before heading deeper into the garden.

"Spinarak~"

"Spinarak~"

The two Spinarak quickly followed.

As Diancie walked, it carefully observed the surroundings. The garden was breathtakingly beautiful and expansive, but apart from the three of them, there didn't seem to be anyone—or anything—else present. Not even a single fly.

After a while, one of the Spinarak shot a thread of silk to pull an Oran Berry from a branch.

Just as it was about to pluck the berry, Diancie stopped it.

"Even though this garden seems deserted, it might belong to someone. We shouldn't pick their fruit just because it's a dream. Tomorrow, when we wake up, I'll buy you whatever berries you want."

Hearing Diancie's words, the Spinarak obediently nodded and retracted its silk.

The three Pokémon continued walking when suddenly a series of joyful laughs caught their attention.

"Mareep~ Mareep~"

The Pokémon followed the sound and soon came upon a wide grassy field. In the center of the field stood a large tree, beneath which a Mareep was happily hopping about.

Diancie was taken aback. "Mareep?"

The playful Mareep stopped and turned toward the source of the voice, looking puzzled.

"Mareep~?"

Diancie?

"Mareep, are you my Mareep?" Diancie asked.

"Mareep~ Mareep~"

Yes, it's me! It's me!

The Mareep cheerfully trotted over to Diancie, pouncing on it and enthusiastically licking Diancie with its tongue.

This Mareep's lively behavior was entirely different from the Mareep Diancie usually saw, leaving Diancie quite confused.

Feeling tickled, Diancie tried to push Mareep away. "Alright, Mareep, that's enough. It tickles!"

Only then did Mareep stop.

Diancie sat up and asked, "Mareep, where are we?" It voiced the question that had been on its mind.

"Mareep~"

My home!

Mareep tilted its head, a look of pure innocence on its face as it replied, "My home?"

"My home?" Diancie froze, puzzled. "But aren't you living with us? Our home is your home!"

But this place was one Diancie had never seen before.

"Mareep~"

Really?

Mareep looked confused.

"I don't know, but this is definitely my home!" Mareep insisted in a naive tone.

Just as Diancie was about to say more, Mareep suddenly dashed forward, glancing back to call for Diancie and the two Spinarak to follow.

"Come on, Diancie! Spinarak! Let's play together!"

Diancie quickly chased after Mareep with the two Spinarak in tow.

As Mareep ran ahead, it suddenly stopped in its tracks. Diancie and the others watched in amazement as a long toy train materialized out of nowhere.

At the same time, a conductor's cap appeared atop Mareep's head, and a black necktie wrapped snugly around its neck.

Diancie guessed this was meant to be a train conductor's uniform.

Mareep jumped into the driver's seat of the train and turned to Diancie and the two Spinarak.

"Passengers, please board the train!" Mareep called out energetically.

Watching the playful scene, Diancie suddenly realized the truth.

This must be Mareep's dream world. Whatever Mareep desired in this dream would automatically appear.

Diancie led the two Spinarak into one of the open-air carriages.

The train was very different from a real train—it had open sides and was much smaller. Each carriage could only seat four at most.

Luckily, the Spinarak were small, barely occupying a single seat, so even though the carriage wasn't spacious, there was enough room for everyone to sit comfortably.

Once everyone was seated, Mareep honked the train's horn and shouted, "All aboard! The train is departing!"

With that, the toy train began to move slowly.

Initially, Diancie thought the train would travel along the grassland since toy trains didn't require tracks.

But to her astonishment, the train rose into the air.

A track made of fluffy white clouds appeared out of nowhere, stretching from the ground up into the sky.

Under Mareep's control, the toy train chugged along the cloud track, whistling as it climbed higher and higher into the sky.

Diancie and the two Spinarak stared in wide-eyed amazement.

The train moved fast, and the rushing wind nearly blew Diancie and the Spinarak off their seats.

"Mareep~ Mareep~"

Mareep cheered enthusiastically.

Feeling the strong wind against her face, Diancie had to clutch the two Spinarak tightly and hold onto the front rail with all her strength.

Mareep, the dream version of you is so wild! Diancie couldn't help but think.

After riding the train for a while, Diancie and the two Spinarak gradually adjusted to its speed.

Although this was a dream, it felt incredibly real. Diancie could even feel the wind brushing against her cheeks vividly.

They traveled for who knows how long until Mareep finally brought the toy train down for a gentle landing.

As soon as Diancie and the Spinarak stepped off, the train vanished, along with the cloud track.

"Did you have fun?" Mareep eagerly asked Diancie.

Diancie nodded. "Yes, it was fun."

It truly was enjoyable—soaring through the sky on a train was an extraordinary and thrilling experience.

"Mareep~ Mareep~"

Mareep was elated, hopping around Diancie with joy.

Then, Mareep darted off again, calling for Diancie and the others to follow.

Led by Mareep, Diancie and the two Spinarak, though puzzled, followed to another grassy field.

In the center of this field was a massive boulder. The surface of the boulder was covered with small dents and countless fine cracks.

Diancie wondered what Mareep was planning to do when she suddenly noticed golden sparks flickering across Mareep's body.

"Mareep~!"

Mareep let out a cry, and a pillar of lightning shot out from it, striking the massive boulder.

Instantly, another dent appeared on the boulder.
