President Damaranchi pondered.

[Darkrai launched a cold, twisting Freezing Beam to intercept the Hyper Beam.]

[A deafening explosion resounded throughout Suzuran Stadium as the two moves clashed.]

The two moves seemed equally matched.

Hyper Beam is the ultimate Normal-type move, boasting nearly twice the power of Ice Beam under typical conditions. Yet here, Heracross only managed to tie with Darkrai's Ice Beam. This highlighted Darkrai's extraordinarily high level.

"Darkrai, use Dark Void!"

[Darkrai gathered dark purple energy into an ominous black hole and hurled it toward Heracross.]

[The black hole enveloped Heracross at lightning speed. Heracross struggled briefly but succumbed to sleep almost instantly.]

However, Ash—no longer the reckless trainer of earlier regions—remained calm, having prepared for this situation.

When Darkrai approached to use Dream Eater, Ash smirked slightly and commanded:

"Heracross, now! Sleep Talk!"

[Despite being asleep, Heracross responded. The light-blue Rhinoceros Beetle suddenly perked up, dodging Darkrai's attack.]

[Its massive horn glowed brightly once more before delivering a devastating Megahorn strike, a Bug-type move that hit Darkrai hard.]

[As the battle reached its peak, Ash placed his hope on a new Pokémon.]

[A burst of white light revealed a forest-green Pokémon.]

"Sceptile!"

Wallace, watching from the Champion Guest Seat, sat up in excitement.

"This is Hoenn's pride! Sceptile!"
