Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom

Chapter 362: Chapter 361: The Battle Begins, Beedrill!

"Cain, have you come all this way just to fight me?" Vexor asked with a confident smile, not taking Cain or Alec seriously.

"No, no, no," Cain waved his hands and then displayed a bloodthirsty grin.

"I've come to kill you!"

"You're courting death!" Vexor's face flashed with anger but quickly calmed. "With what? With the two of you who've survived three months on Challenge Island? Oh, wait, you left the island, but does that give you the confidence to defeat me?"

"I already told you, I'm not here to defeat you; I'm here to kill you. Don't you understand?" Cain spread his hands with an expression of feigned resignation.

As one of an Executive's trusted subordinates, Vexor couldn't stand being provoked by someone who seemed weaker, so he said no more.

"If you're so sure, then try me. And as for you, the homeless dog beside you, I'll show you what I can do."

Vexor licked his lips with an equally bloodthirsty grin.

"You talk too much!" Cain tossed all his Pokéballs at once and then dismounted from his Arbok.

This time, he called out his Tropius, though not for combat, but to shield against potential ambushes while his other Pokémon, like Haunter, focused on offense.

"Murkrow, Tailwind for the whole team and Dark Pulse!"

"Slowpoke, start using Calm Mind!"

"Sneasel, use Agility and Hone Claws!"

"Haunter, Shadow Ball!"

"Skorupi, Miltank, stay by my side and protect me."

"Arbok, use Acid!"

"Ursaring, prepare to defend."

Cain, already poised for action, didn't hesitate to launch the first attack.

Alec, standing beside Cain, also summoned all his Pokémon.

"Mightyena, Shadow Ball!"

"Shuckle, Power Trick!"

"Golbat, Supersonic!"

"Ponyta, Fire Spin!"

All the Pokémon directed their attacks at Vexor, who stood in the distance.

Vexor didn't seem concerned by the incoming barrage. Instead, his gaze fixed on Cain, who stood atop his Tropius.

Cain's strength surprised him a bit, especially Tropius, which, despite not attacking, exerted an intimidating presence.

Cain's other Pokémon also displayed significant power in their attacks.

Vexor's Scyther, standing by his side, was ready to act at any moment.

Vexor gave a slight pat on Scyther's shoulder, which it understood as a command. Scyther lifted him into the air, carrying him out of reach of Cain and Alec's attacks.

The ease with which Vexor dodged the attacks showcased the gap in strength between him and his opponents.

"Interesting. It seems you have some strength. I suppose I'll have to take this seriously," Vexor said as he landed gracefully.

"Let's go, Beedrill, Butterfree, Golduck, Pinsir, Ariados—show them what we're capable of!" Vexor released five Pokéballs, calling forth his team.

Cain immediately analyzed the data of Vexor's Pokémon, focusing particularly on Beedrill, which appeared to be the strongest.

Pokémon: Beedrill (Light Blue)

Gender: Male

Level: 35

Type: Bug + Poison

Ability: Sniper

Held Item: Poison Barb

Egg Moves: None

Basic Moves: Twineedle, Fury Attack, Rage, Pursuit, Focus Energy, Venoshock, Assurance, Toxic Spikes, Pin Missile, Poison Jab

Learned Moves: Tailwind, Bug Bite, Knock Off, Giga Drain, Drill Run

TM Moves: Protect, Hidden Power (Fire), Double Team, Aerial Ace, X-Scissor, Giga Impact

Vexor's light-blue-quality Beedrill was exceptionally well-trained and the highest-level Pokémon on his team.

"If I'm going to fight, I must give it my all. There's no other way to ensure my safety," Vexor said, smiling as he retrieved two yellow-green pills from his storage space.

Cain's eyes narrowed as he saw the pills.

If he wasn't mistaken, those pills were the type that could temporarily boost a Pokémon's power, though with serious side effects.

Without hesitation, Vexor tossed the pills to his Ariados and Pinsir, which devoured them without a second thought.

Immediately, their power levels began to rise.

However, Cain noticed something different: these pills didn't seem to be the same as those used by Xander. Their effects were quicker but less intense.

It appeared these pills were not as potent, but in exchange, their side effects were likely milder.

"So, you choose to sacrifice your more common Pokémon for a power burst. Even if these Pokémon are exhausted, it won't hurt your overall team much. But with this temporary boost, they can rival your Beedrill. You're a cruel trainer, treating your Pokémon as disposable tools," Cain thought.

Not that it bothered him—Cain had done the same in his past life.

"If you've come here to die, I'll make sure to grant your wish," Vexor said with a crazed smile.

"Beedrill, Poison Jab against Slowpoke!"

"Butterfree, use Poison Powder, Stun Spore, and Sleep Powder!"

"Scyther, use Agility and X-Scissor on Sneasel."

"Pinsir, take down Ursaring and Arbok with Brick Break."

"Ariados, quickly finish off Alec's Pokémon—don't waste time!"

Vexor gave precise commands.

As for Golduck, it stayed close to him, using Psychic to support the other Pokémon.

It seemed Vexor wanted to ensure no one could attack him directly.

He relied on his pill-enhanced Ariados to deal with Alec's four Pokémon. While Alec had four, none seemed particularly strong except for Ponyta, which could pose a threat with its type advantage.

Regarding Shuckle, Vexor showed a hint of surprise.

Although Shuckle wasn't common, Vexor recognized its potential due to his expertise with Bug-type Pokémon. He knew better than to underestimate it, especially since his superior, Lucius, also owned a Shuckle and valued it highly.

Pinsir, having consumed a pill, was sent to deal with Ursaring and Arbok—two Pokémon that, while strong, didn't seem to concern Vexor too much.

"Pinsir is one of the strongest Bug-types in terms of physical strength, so it shouldn't have any trouble handling those two," Vexor thought.
