Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 125: Chapter 125: Lampool City

Lying in bed, Ron replayed Shadow's words in his mind.

From Shadow's tone, it seemed clear that even if Ron declined, neither Shadow nor Giovanni, the man behind him, would retaliate. At most, they would provide resources to help Ron grow faster, all while watching as he became another Koga.

After all, Koga had contributed significantly to Team Rocket, and Shadow wouldn't mind having one more person like that. Perhaps one day, Ron could become the dagger that pierces the heart of the Alliance.

The only flaw was that Ron had no support or backing. Everything rested on his shoulders—unless someone within the League was willing to protect him.

People like Lugo, a Ranger Captain, would become less helpful to Ron as his strength grew.

If Ron were to agree, having Giovanni as his patron would give him an undeniable advantage.

In the anime, Cassidy and Butch were examples of this. Despite their countless encounters with the bumbling Meowth trio and Ash's protagonist aura, which often ended with them getting caught, Team Rocket always bailed them out.

By all accounts, they should have spent their lives in prison, but their release after each capture demonstrated the perks of being under Giovanni's protection.

As for the Meowth trio, while their abilities couldn't match Cassidy and Butch's, they still managed to become close to Giovanni, leaving Ron puzzled.

Then again, perhaps they owed Giovanni so much that he couldn't bear to let them perish.

After some thought, Ron ultimately decided to refuse Shadow's proposal.

He had only been on his journey for half a year and had yet to face an unsolvable problem. There was no need to tie himself prematurely to a single path.

While it felt somewhat like playing hard to get, Ron didn't mind.

After packing his belongings, he left the Pokémon Center.

This experience served as a wake-up call. Even in a Pokémon Center, there was no absolute safety. If someone wanted to infiltrate, the Center wouldn't be able to stop them.

"He's already left Celadon City? Looks like he refused. This is a first for me."

"Still, it doesn't matter. I believe that as his status rises, he'll eventually see how ridiculous the League's upper echelon is. When that time comes, he'll come to me on his own. I look forward to it."

Sitting atop a Fearow, Shadow murmured to himself as he learned of Ron's departure. His voice was soon carried away by the wind.

Ron's next destination was the famous resort city, Lampool City.

Nearby were two well-known landmarks. The first was Pokémon Land, an island featuring many giant mechanical Pokémon. The mastermind behind it was none other than Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket.

Unfortunately, by the time Ash arrived, Pokémon Land was already falling apart.

The second was Yodding Pier, which provided access to Maiden's Peak. Many claimed to see the ghost of a maiden appear there every Ghost Festival.

In reality, the so-called maiden's ghost was a Gastly. It assumed this guise to keep the legend of the maiden alive.

Ron had little interest in Pokémon Land, but Lampool City and Maiden's Peak intrigued him.

Having entered the Pokémon world, Ron couldn't just focus on strength training without taking time to relax.

Moreover, Machamp and the others were in a growth phase.

After earning the Rainbow Badge at Celadon City Gym, Ron planned to find worthy opponents to push his Pokémon to the next level.

Until then, visiting new places and broadening his horizons seemed like a good idea—not that Ron would admit he wanted to enjoy himself.

One particular draw was the enormous Tentacruel that had once appeared in Lampool City.

In his previous life, Gigantamax originated in the Galar region, as studied by Professor Magnolia and later researched further by her granddaughter Sonia and her assistant Hop.

Gigantamax was not a standard phenomenon and required two conditions:

A Dynamax Band.

Proximity to a power spot.

Without these two, Pokémon couldn't undergo Gigantamax, even with a Dynamax Band.

However, Pokémon like the giant Tentacruel or the enormous Dragonite at Bill's Lighthouse didn't meet either condition.

This suggested that another force in the Pokémon world could enlarge Pokémon.

Ron couldn't confirm this theory for now. He wasn't a researcher, nor did he have Ash's protagonist aura to guide him. He could only hope to tag along with Ash in the future to uncover these mysteries.

For now, Ron had simpler plans: to relax and observe the culture of Lampulci City.

...

The endless ocean. The pristine white beach.

Under a parasol, Ron, wearing sunglasses, admired the beautiful girls around him. He couldn't help but consider offering to apply their sunscreen.

Despite being only fourteen, his body showed surprising development, allowing him to entertain certain ideas.

Ultimately, he resisted temptation.

After instructing Persian to keep an eye on the incubator with his Pokémon egg, Ron grabbed a surfboard and dashed toward the ocean.

"With no women in your heart, your blade will stay sharp," he reminded himself.

Now was a time for rapid growth. A brief break in a city like Lampool was fine, but relationships could wait.

In his previous life, Ron had been an extreme sports enthusiast, well-versed in surfing.

Riding the waves, Ron charged forward, followed by his Pokémon.

With their impressive physical prowess, Machamp and the others quickly mastered surfing and kept pace with him.

Behind them came Bellossom and Nidorino, who shared a surfboard with Kirlia under the pretext of protecting his "little sister."

Looking back at his Pokémon trailing behind him, Ron felt a surge of pride.

While he and his Pokémon had achieved much, they were still at mid-elite strength, far from catching the attention of true powerhouses.

But Ron believed that, just as they conquered the waves together, they could overcome any obstacle in their path, reaching heights no one else could match!
