Chapter 4: Cavalry Bundle
Liliana understood. What Caleb said was completely true. She should not beg to be friends with CL_Ellise as they were all enemies in this place anyway.
Only those who had joined an alliance could be said to be friends, though not 100% faithful friends —learning from Caleb's experience.
A notification appeared before Liliana's face, saying that a technology had been researched. Not wanting to wait any longer, Liliana excused herself to Caleb.
Caleb said yes. Liliana left with her scout by her side. The woman's figure had disappeared entirely from the man's territory.
The man stepped into the town hall and rested while waiting for his workers to finish. Production results would appear every hour, while Caleb needed two hours to upgrade TH.
While resting on the bed, he opened his profile menu. There, he saw that the name of his kingdom had not changed, still using numbers.
[LORD PROFILE]
[Server Name: Earth #212]
[Username: Caleb]
[Kingdom Name: #9845007] [Kingdom name change?]
[Kingdom Power: 500]
[Civilization: -]
[Alliance: -]
[Kills: 0]
Caleb pressed the menu next to the kingdom name, spontaneously, another panel appeared in the form of input with a holographic keyboard.
Without hesitation, Caleb began to write the name of his kingdom according to his wishes.
[LordHeavens.123]
[Attention! The name of the kingdom must not have a period (.)]
"Okay."
[SovereignRuler123]
[Attention! Kingdom name has been taken]
"What? Who wants to name their kingdom with the number 123?" asked Caleb.
[Ruler of the Heavens]
[Attention! Kingdom name is taken]
"Damn it. What would be a good name for my kingdom?" Caleb was annoyed.
[IloveUSA]
[Attention! Kingdom name is taken]
[Burger_Pizza]
[Attention! Kingdom name is taken]
'Do people take all this for stupid?!' Caleb was annoyed as he got up from sleeping on his back.
He looked straight outside through the window of the Town Hall, seeing the workers pacing around doing their jobs. Watching the routine, Caleb came up with an appropriate kingdom name for him.
[RustyAxe]
[SUCCESS!]
[You have changed the name of the kingdom]
[Kingdom #9845007 -> RustyAxe]
'Am I stupid? They'll laugh at me with this kingdom name,' Caleb explained.
Even so, the power of one's kingdom was not determined by how great their name was. A kingdom with the name Heavenly_Kingdom, if poorly managed, will not do well.
"At least this name is memorable rather than a mere random number."
[Wood +160]
[Food +119]
[Gold +85]
[Update Resources Info]
[Wood: 530] [+160]
[Food: 692] [+119]
[Gold: 435] [+85]
[Stone: 175]
Caleb smiled. He was happy to clearly see that his wood, food, and gold had increased significantly.
That indicated that he could upgrade his town hall from a level 1 to a level 2 town hall.
The man left the place, turned around and looked at his Town Hall. He touched the building, bringing up another panel before his face.
[Town Hall]
[Durability: 300/300]
[Level: 1]
[Attack: 5+(full capacity of Town Hall settlers)]
[Defense: 10+(full capacity of Town Hall settlers)]
[Range: 5m]
[Accuracy: 30%]
[Capacity: 10 people]
[Upgrade to next level: 500 wood || 500 food]
[Upgrade Town Hall?]
[Yes] [No]
After fulfilling the requirements to level up, Caleb unhesitatingly confirmed it. Another panel appeared after Caleb approved the Town Hall upgrade.
[Town Hall upgrade approved]
[Level 1 -> level 2]
[Duration of renovation: ]
[00:11:59:45]
'Half a day to complete this construction. Apparently, I have plenty of time before the renovation is completely finished,' said Caleb.
Caleb activated his talent, Vision Fog. From the talent map, Caleb could focus on directing his scouts to explore the 39 treasure caves.
Of the 39 treasure caves, only one was known to be a high-level treasure cave —which Caleb had already explored.
Still, the rest were abstract. There was no information on whether they were high-level treasure caves or not.
'I should just explore those places; it's possible that other players don't know about them,' Caleb explained.
Because the location of the treasure caves was in the fog, Caleb had to tell the scout to explore bit by bit, with the direction of one of the 39 treasure caves.
The scout moved to uncover the fog, the location further east from Liliana's Town Hall. Yet, it was in the same direction as the location of the treasure caves in the region.
[Mid-level treasure cave found!]
'Mid-level treasure cave, huh? Not bad, maybe I can get something interesting there,' Caleb explained.
[Explore the Treasure Cave?]
[Yes] [No]
Caleb pulled the scout to enter the treasure cave. Slowly, the scout went inside and explored into a cave of treasures in 30 minutes.
At Town Hall level 1, the number of scouts available was only 1. If you advanced to level 2, the number increased by two.
If you advance to level 3, Caleb has the opportunity to build a scouting building, which is in charge of searching for treasure caves and wild monster locations and uncovering fog.
For now, it was better for Caleb to maximize the use of scouts at level 1 Town Hall. The renovation duration reached 12 hours.
If the exploration of the treasure cave took 30 minutes, then he could do the exploration 24 times in 12 hours.
"I can explore 23 or 24 treasure caves in 12 hours. To be efficient, it's better to optimize the location of treasure caves that are close together."
More than 30 minutes passed, a notification panel appeared in front of Caleb. It informed him of a mid-level mystery chest that his scout had obtained.
Caleb opened the incoming message and unlocked the mystery chest, which he was quite curious about.
[Mystery Chest opened]
[DING! Congratulations you got a mystery reward]
[1 bundle wood level 2]
[Wood 250x]
'Just a resource pack. It's fine; it's useful for me,' said Caleb.
From the location of the mid-level treasure cave, there were two chests close together, to the east and north.
However, the treasure cave in the north was also adjacent to another treasure cave. So, Caleb's first choice was to go north.
"Go north," Caleb commanded his scout.
Again, the scout explored the fog to the north to find another treasure cave.
Learning from Caleb's experience, novice players usually don't care much about this. They were more focused on increasing the population and recruiting workers.
That's actually good, for the sake of future investment. However, it will decrease their resources.
That will impact their ability to build other buildings at higher TH levels. Their development would be left behind due to the imbalance.
[High-level treasure cave found!]
"Finally, a high-level treasure cave. This is my good fortune," said Caleb.
He pulled his scout back into the treasure cave to explore inside. Again, Caleb had to wait about 30 minutes for the treasure cave to finish exploring.
It's okay; waiting 30 minutes is enough for Caleb, who is used to staying late at night.
[High-level treasure cave successfully explored!]
[Host gets a high-level mystery chest]
Caleb opened the inbox again, pressing the mystery chest icon to instantly open the object. In an instant, another panel appeared in front of Caleb.
"Alright. What do I get now? I hope it's not a resource bundle," Caleb explained.
[High-Level Mystery Chest opened]
[DING! Congratulations you got a mystery reward]
[1 cavalry bundle level 2]
[Heavy Scout 10x]
"What? Isn't this the troop that should appear when TH is level 3?" asked Caleb, shocked.
Caleb was speechless, then a cunning way came into his head looking at the level 2 cavalry bundle.
He thanked the high-level treasure cave, because Caleb had a way to invade other people's Town Halls early due to the high-level mystery chest.
"Maybe I should start being an invader!" declared Caleb.
"Just by killing their king, I can take over their town hall."
"Who should I kill? CL_Ellise or Liliana?"
