Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead

Chapter 319: Fear The Night : Cutting Down

Wielding the champion of water's arm by the hand, he swung it like a battleaxe at the champion of crystal, Dasato was a lanky woman, but the limb Loimos wielded was not exactly thick either, rather delicate in fact for a warrior that could supposedly fight both with magic and martial arts, obviously, the undead knew how to wield even a weapon as impromptu as this one.

Using severed body parts as weapons was not all that uncommon for the undeads, grasping onto the arm tighter, slinging blood still within at the champion's face and eyes, a well placed kick to lessen her grip on her crystal blade, he caught it and turned to the approaching livings, Milo and Griar were quick on their feet, Msir was tending to her fellow champions, grabbing them to bring to the healer, although not immediately lethal, their injuries certainly held the potential to be mortal.

Especially as they had been knocked out and couldn't tend to their own wounds at all, as such, at the moment, Loimos only had the two young men trying to engage him in close quarters, slinging both the arm and blade at them, crossing his arms at the last moment.

Elbowing Dasato in the chin without turning at all, simply pushing her forward and turning around her without doing much else, evading a fireball and preventing Helena from casting anything at him, she was definitely the most powerful mage here, so he made certain to not give her any clear sight on him, not taking this prime opportunity to pound the champion of crystal into the ground, keeping her standing as a cover.

Getting down on all fours, moving along the ground like a serpentine beast given legs, he weaved through the spells of the mages, taking a burst of flames head-on, a disk of holy life was avoided by going completely flat, slithering like an actual snake, which might appear ridiculous, but for Merno, the talent holder in magic, it was anything but a funny sight to him, as if on springs, the skeleton pounced, putting up a barrier, the former student watched with wide eyes as Loimos shifted his posture mid-air, softening his lunge and managing to push off this vertical surface like a trained freerunner, as though his feet were covered in gripping powder.

He hoisted himself up to the very top of the barrier, grasping onto like he knew exactly where it stood, Merno might had been hasty, but he had still casted an unseen barrier, the undead's lack of mana and such within him should make it impossible to detect the spell, and yet…

"Focus fire!" he saw an opportunity however, manifesting a water spell, planning on doing the same thing Defoim'nocle had done to transport Hoffnu, but to keep Loimos trapped in the air, he just needed to dispel the barrier and leave him stuck in the air, where he could not move as he wished.

"Cease"

speaking in the death tongue, Loimos was lacking in power to do more than make Merno hesitate from a split second, which was more than enough for him to get into position, ignoring a hardened spike of snow striking against the side of his head, he pushed and pushed Merno to the ground, someone wrapped their arm around the Undead's neck from behind, Dasato had recovered within the expected time, but had gotten here faster than she should have on foot, and judging by the strength with which she had slammed onto his back, someone had thrown her there, casting crystals, she was trying to cover the skeleton, finding it difficult to cast spells when directly against him, the meagre amount of death within was still getting in the way somehow.

Visualising where everyone should be, all thirteen warriors capable of fighting still, Menhirel was still not quite there yet, but soon would get back up, Minli, the talented healer was non-issue fighting-wise, Loimos just needed to make sure to deal enough damage in a brutal enough way to prevent rapid healing.

Eleven then, Dasato was on his back, holding onto him in the way One would dream of, Merno was below him, currently being suffocated, one hand grasping the neck, the other covering mouth and nose.

Nine, Msir was still busy with the wounded, Milo and Griar were soon to arrive, but in the current situation, they might find it difficult to properly attack, not that Loimos was planning on staying still until they caught up.

Six, Alosfit, Forven, Neige were close to one another, working on alongside Helena to fire off a precise spell packing much power, they were going to fire the moment Loimos broke free of this entanglement, the primary point of this manoeuvre was probably to keep Loimos on his guard and prevent him from accumulating momentum after getting rid of some pressure on him.

Two, Marl and Molc, talent holder in the crossbow and holy, Molc had to focus too long to dish out any damage, but Marl wielded holy life as a priest affiliated with Phanes, and unlike the rest, he could damage Loimos without risking hitting his allies, at this very moment, a circle of holy life was forming beneath the undead, a pillar of the holy would soon engulf him.

Purplish crystal growing over him, the situation did not look very good for the skeleton, loosening his grip on Merno, he shoved his fingers into his eyes, turning them into goop but struggling to reach into the brain as the mage was not giving in, a filament of mana preventing approach, shifting his weight, he flipped everything around.

Dasato had her back against the ground, she noticed Loimos reaching for something hidden by his mantle, thinking that he was going to pull out a dagger or something similar, she shifted to the side as well, pushing him off of her, instead sifting to grab onto this particular arm, focusing on coating it with crystals instead.

Pushing Merno away, he was not much of a threat without eyes, he would not be able of properly casting spells like this, and as a result of this, Loimos's fingers were coated in blood and gore, which he made to bring attention to as turned to the champion of crystal, this lanky, meek girl was quite bold, the crystal that had grown over Loimos's helm and shoulders were cracking, not handling quite well the proximity with the skeleton.

Manifesting a spike of crystal, she stabbed it in between the bars of his visor, simultaneously, the pillar of holy life was erected, Loimos straight in the center of it all, scorched by the holy, Loimos disappeared from sight, which was exactly what made Marl realise that it might not have been the wisest move, when the pillars dissipated, smoke was rising from him, and he was right up to Dasato, one hand propped her chin up, making her look directly at the spatial bodies of the undead empire right above, blinded and momentarily robbed of her attention, he used his other hand, the fingers covered in blood to draw a sigil upon her chest.

Activating with a punch, causing an explosion of wind, which also had the great effect of shredding Dasato's flesh, rousing the dust once more, only for less than a second, even as she charged up a spell with some assistance, Helena was able of casting other spells at the same time.

Only eleven livings remained standing.
