Chapter 1054 - 1051: Don't Misunderstand

Chapter 1054: Chapter 1051: Don’t Misunderstand

Ye Muyu emitted a hum, allowing the person behind her to comb her hair.

She applied cream to her face, dabbed on just a bit of dry and peel, and did not use any rouge.

She changed into a light purple winter outfit.

Two maidservants followed by her side.

Ye Muyu headed to the front courtyard, and before she even entered, she could hear two sounds coming from the gateway.

One was the whooshing sound of Chu Heng practicing with his sword, and the other was a sweet, caring voice.

Su Mei’s expression slightly changed; she did not expect Aunt Lin to appear so early in the front courtyard, keeping company while the master practiced with his sword, and the master did not ask her to leave.

Su Mei looked at Ye Muyu somewhat nervously, “lady, perhaps, perhaps it’s because Aunt Lin insisted on staying of her own volition?”

As she spoke, she herself hardly believed her words. With the master’s personality, if he truly wanted someone to leave, no matter how thick-skinned they were, they couldn’t stay.

Having said this, she immediately regretted it.

Ye Muyu knew that Su Mei was trying to comfort her, she hummed a response and stepped forward into the interior.

As she walked into the courtyard, she immediately saw Chu Heng in the spacious yard, holding a frosty sword and moving with precise and lethal motions.

Even though she could not understand the techniques, it did not hinder her simple admiration. Coupled with his expressionless and stern face, she could not help but think to herself that he had an outstanding presence; she even felt like praising him for his handsomeness.

Amazement also flitted across the faces of Su Mei and Chun Xing behind her.

They had long known that the master was exceptionally handsome, and seeing him now confirmed that it was true. However, remembering Chu Heng’s stern nature, they dared not entertain further thoughts.

Opposite Chu Heng stood Lin Mianmian.

Lin Mianmian wore a beautiful pink long dress that made her face appear even more delicate and beautiful.

Meanwhile, the only stone bench in the yard was occupied by Chu Jin and Chu Ziluo, who sat with a look of silent grievance, holding hot tea in their hands that they did not drink, just staring intently at Chu Heng and Lin Mianmian.

“Mother…” Chu Jin immediately spotted Ye Muyu as she entered and hurriedly ran toward her.

Chu Heng’s movements unconsciously paused because of this shout.

He only hesitated for an instant before resuming his sword practice at the original pace.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to practice swordplay with your dad? Why aren’t you?” Ye Muyu asked softly.

She first touched his hand to make sure it was warm before she felt at ease.

Chu Jin pouted, “Someone I don’t like came, so I didn’t want to practice.”

“Silly child, why should your preferences waver just because someone is present?” Ye Muyu tapped his forehead. “If you like it, go now and join your dad in practice.”

“Can I?” Chu Jin asked, a little uncertain.

“Of course, he promised mother yesterday that today he would spend time with you. Besides, your dad has already practiced swordplay long enough, and he’s fulfilled his practicing goal for the day.”

Chu Jin hurried back to the stone bench.

Chu Ziluo handed him the small wooden sword kept aside.

After taking it, Chu Jin approached and called out, “Dad, can you teach me swordplay?”

Chu Heng did not reply but stopped his movements nonetheless.

Hearing Chu Jin’s request, Lin Mianmian seized the opportunity to speak sharply, “Young Master, if you wish to learn swordplay, this concubine will invite a martial arts master to teach you.”

“To disturb the master over such a trivial matter is inappropriate as his child. The master is already so weary from his daily affairs.”

Chu Jin’s eyes immediately reddened, tears welling up, “Dad, you promised to spend time with us last night.”

“Don’t you like us anymore?”

Chu Heng: “No.”
