Chapter 1793 Chapter 1786: One of Ten; A Game of Mystics (17)

Chapter 1793  Chapter 1786: One of Ten; A Game of Mystics (17)

Throughout the Spiritual Network, one by one, silence descended into each spectator's heart; whether it was due to the depletion of heavenly aura from the legendary and deeply revered Zenith Refinement Tower, the shock at the quieted vortexes of azure-esque mist signifying the end of allies, or the ruthless and unexpected death by the skinny Supreme Sage's hands, an utterly brutal occurrence that took countless by surprise. The last event was genuinely soul-shaking. Not a single person expected Guo Heng, a prestigious and elite Worldly Saint Alchemist to be killed. Moreover, given the circumstances, perhaps the skinny Supreme Sage hadn't expected her actions to be slowed down and witnessed by billions. That said, those with a sufficiently high level and understanding of Mythical Punishment and Ways of Mysticism, simultaneously seeing how completely a single wave had devastated Guo Heng's life and soul, knew exactly why. Mythical Punishment, despite its godly lethality and focused power, did not destroy the True Soul or Soul. Moreover, its power was exhausted and dissipated, leaving no trace of its presence after.

Unlike cultivators, its power didn't interfere with anything tangible, including the flows of time and space, enabling spatial shifting to still occur at the epicenter and surrounding region of Mythical Punishment, and therefore did not hinder Temporal Reversion!

Guo Heng might die, but despite experiencing death, at an incredible price, his death could be temporary. The once-chubby, now-skinny Supreme Sage had severed any and all chances of that happening unless someone defied the River of Time and extracted him from the fate of death. An inconceivable feat that even she wouldn't attempt. That said, executing life-saving Temporal Reversion on Ascended beings, especially Heavenly Saint Phase cultivators, costs an unimaginable price to perform. Personally, Wu Yu had exhausted hundreds of years to repair parts of his body, and his cultivation base was significantly lower at the time. However, all that brutality aside, especially since her actions felt perfectly reasonable after witnessing the strength of the Mythical Punishment. If, by an incredible turn of events, she died, there would be no saving her. She would be permanently dead. After all, her cultivation base had merged with her True Soul. If she was to be killed, her True Soul had to die. There was no other way around it. And the Mythical Punishment struck to kill! To those in the know, or who had some semblance of an idea of the Resonant Soul Realm's profound characteristics, they fully understood her actions. If she was going to die, why in the ever-living fuck would she allow Guo Heng to be revived?! She severed his chances! Why else did Guo Heng want to face the Mythical Punishment at the Zenith Refinement Tower rather than be saved after his death? Due to the constraints of the game, he would normally be unable to leave that room, and every passing microsecond would skyrocket the cost of his revival. Moreover, would Wei Wuyin allow it?! By the time the game ended, who knew if they could even do so! But here? It didn't need to be said! Unfortunately…

The skinny Supreme Sage viciously scowled as her eyes glittered with a lifetime of experiences, observing the descending prismatic light in a shroud of gold with raw rage. This was only the second Mythical Punishment! There were SEVEN more! SEVEN!!!

Despite the absurdity of her current obstacles, she had cultivated to this extent through countless tragedies and calamities, overcoming them all amidst deadly competition, relying on her willpower, intelligence, ruthlessness, and unyielding spirit, all of which formed the very foundation of her Heart of Cultivation! She refused to surrender.

Not to heaven.

Not to earth.

Not to man.

And certainly not to this ARBITER! "Come at me, you vicious BASTARD!!" She roared as she circulated her cultivation base, invigorating her mind, body, spirit, and soul to their absolute extreme limits. She held nothing back! Soul Light concentric ripples began to form, her glabella as its epicenter, like a soft and incessant tremor within a pond. An ancient key was expelled as if fished out of water! This key resembled a cruciform key. It was sky blue in color, as pure as water blessed with the brilliance of a star and the sky of a planet, and as small as a door key that could fit in one's palm.

Before it, mortals would kowtow, Ascended beings would kneel, while those who wielded the authorities of Laws would be shaken to their core!

It exuded an ancient heavenly aura, supremely boundless and unfathomably majestic. It gently pulsed with a distinct resonance to the heavens, incomparable to any artificial object within the world, and the Zenith Refinement Tower, a Mystic-Heaven grade Armament, felt as if it was a mere imitation of the key's profound existence.

From his seat, Wei Wuyin's starry eyes stared at the key. His Second Mind was overly focused, committing every transmitted characteristic of its aura, and as it did, Wei Wuyin felt his six mutated Minor Authorities of Law thrum with intense yearning. Shockingly, Little Defiant grew abnormally active as it spun slightly faster on its axis, diffusing Solar Essence that invigorated and refined his physique. Just the mere sensing of its aura stimulated it, sending him into a natural state of cultivation. Qin Yingyin's eyes were affixed to the potential last moments of a supreme existence, yet when Little Defiant began to grow increasingly active, her focus was wrenched away against her will, her physical cells and Mystic Soul revealed both intense fear and incredible desire, the conflict was enough for her entire cultivation base to teeter on the verge of chaos. She had to hurriedly calm herself by executing a Mental Incantation to stabilize the Sea of Consciousness, and thereby regain control of her Mystic Soul. While she struggled internally, waves upon waves of shock battered her heart and mind. Su Yi grew solemn. "WE GOT IT!" A transmitted message sent itself to Su Yu from Dai Yangdao, his voice urgent, heavy, and hectic in cadence. It was suffused with triumph. Just a few seconds before this message came in, before the first Mythical Punishment was unleashed, the Void was the destructive battlefield of epic forces, all focused on attaining the Mythical Oath that was brimming with activity, indicating that the Mythical Punishment was about to occur! The Seven Greater Spirits of the Sky Harbor Mountain, all of seven different races, were in a formation that emulated an exceedingly profound celestial constellation, pulsating with quasi-supreme spiritual power. They were spiritual entities on par with Spirits of War, refined and created by an exceedingly precious treasure, given life and form by the profound might of Soul Light and Laws.

They were all in a spiritual state of expelling excessive radiance, sending a deluge of spiritual light across the Void as they entrapped several cultivators, including two supreme existences! Faux-Resonance Array: Cage of the Boundless Dreaming!

This array art was strong enough to hold back Supreme Sages! The Seven Greater Spirits of the Sky Harbor Mountain had worked in tandem to unleash this array on Wei Wuyin, ensuring with absolute confidence that they could restrain him from interfering with Su Yi's plans. Unfortunately, reality and belief don't always coincide with each other, and Wei Wuyin escaped with ease. Shockingly, the array emanated a greater strength than before, as if it was executed in an area granting it a geographic advantage, fueling its distortion and kaleidoscopic spatial chaos to an entirely different level! And it was! The Void was increasing its strength by adding to the chaos! Dai Yangdao was not assisting the seven spirits, but was rushing alongside the beautifully majestic Wu Yintian, the Last Yin Empress! They were blazing across the Void, attempting to reach the Mythical Contract. Meanwhile, off in a distance that was unable to be determined as close or far, Suo Haoran and the voluminous-robed female Supreme Sage were in vicious combat. They clashed delicately, not trying to disturb the Void too much, which simultaneously unleashed attacks that could collapse half a Galactic Zone. If not for the unique characteristics of the Void, their attacks would ravage all of heaven and earth. In comparison to the scope of heaven, Galactic Zones were as minute as a tiny island on a large planet, and these supreme existences were using qi that draw upon a mere fragment of its power. The two Seers accompanying the female Supreme Sage had been expelled with injuries in haste, sending them to the same present time of their existence, but it was unknown as to their location. They could, due to the qualities of the Void, be tens of octillion of miles away from the Utmost Purity Galaxy or a few inches from their place of birth.

It was hard to tell. "Suo Haoran is strong!" Dai Yangdao said as he relied on Wu Yintian's concealment arts that were second to none in her cultivation while he disguised their presence using various anti-soul detection and anti-divination spells. They worked in flawless tandem, making it so that even Microheaven Envoys of the Resonant Soul Realm would find it impossibly difficult to locate them. Using the Void as a medium, they enhanced their concealments.

"I sense three more auras!" Dai Yangdao hurriedly transmitted this to Wu Yintian. Wu Yintian's beautiful gaze narrowed sharply as she pushed her concealment art to its limits. Seeing this, Dai Yangdao followed by pushing his anti-detection spells to their limits!

Then, simultaneously, they executed a joint movement-type Ascension Art that formed a yin-yang symbol beneath them. It spun, releasing a grayish mist. And they turned into light that faintly exceeded Stellar Transit Light.

In a flash, they arrived by the Mythical Contract. At that point, as they reached just a few yards from the Mythical Contract, it was as if all their concealments were useless as Suo Haoran and the female Supreme Sage halted their fighting almost instantly while the array was met with a thunderous explosion that caused the seven spirits to cough out vast quantities of soul essence liquid.

Yet to the duo, their discovery was already too late! Dai Yangdao grabbed the contract. Wu Yintian readied her Spiritual Yin Power to defend or cut a path out of the infinite Void. At the same time, Dai Yangdao sent Su Yi that message!

"WE GOT IT!"

However, to their shock, Suo Haoran didn't rush them, and neither did the female Supreme Sage of the Seers of the Night. "You must have noticed the contract's strangeness," Suo Haoran sent through a wide-soul transmission. This act contained no spiritual qi and no ill will. Dao Yangbao's expression changed slightly. They had noticed the strangeness in this contract's aura, especially while it was active. It had the aura of only a single person. They recognized the aura as Guo Heng's. However, there wasn't the slightest aura of Su Yi or Grand Seer Rippledark or Tianshi Ya! These were the auras each of them was looking for! "I suspect," the female black-robed Supreme Sage began as she reined in her strength, "that the foreigner, I mean—World-Saint Neo-Dawn has played us into an unknowing scheme." Wu Yintian's eyes displayed skepticism, her Spiritual Yin Power on the verge of erupting, slicing out a path of escape at any moment. This was especially so given that three more groups were incoming from all over. "We were all scattered across the Void. Don't you find that strange?" Suo Haoran stared at Dai Yangdao who held the Mythical Contract, ignoring all else. He hefted his divination treasure before him, as if showcasing it to Dai Yangdao. Dao Yangdao was momentarily shaken. Then, he thought about it. Suo Haoran's words ignited a realization in his heart. If they were all looking for the same contract, why were they so far apart? What about those existences racing here? Where were they looking? A Mythical Contract could shift across time and space, but if clues were traced, using logic, they should be coming across each other with almost immediate and incessant frequency. Yet they hadn't.

Why?

Because they were looking for different things!

Meanwhile, the chubby female Supreme Sage of the Zenith Refinement Tower had lost her Grand Seer after coming remarkably close to it. Dai Yangdao's eyes grew solemn. Even Wu Yintian's heart was pounding. They weren't naive youngsters of the cultivation world. Wei Wuyin had flipped the table drastically on those who sought to ruin him via the game of Mystics, avoiding fighting an Imperial Dao-empowered potential-Supreme Sage that was at the height of his imperialistic momentum, just recently claiming two lesser galaxies and one quasi-greater galaxy! If Wei Wuyin hadn't used that special condition, they would have never experienced this unimaginable calamity! No one had foreseen this! Or perhaps, just perhaps, the prophecy initiated earlier to dissuade Wei Wuyun from interfering had! And that prophecy wasn't directed at him but at THEM! Regardless of the truth, the possibility of individual Mythical Contracts held an unimaginable significance and led to an idea as to what Wei Wuyin's end goal was. "You have the contract. It's currently active," Suo Haoran added, pointing out with a strong, firm tone. "It's the cause of the calamity that the Zenith Refinement Tower will not be able to avoid. The worst our galaxy will experience."

"..." Dai Yangdao and Wu Yintian's hearts were pounding and their minds were shaking!

"You can end it with a thought," the female black-robed Supreme Sage said, her tone enticing. As a Supreme Sage of the Seers of the Night, those who dared to view the secrets of the heavens to gain blessed benefits from all things, she was keenly aware of how to exploit an opportunity.

"We can help you," Suo Haoran's eyes finally shifted subtly to the array that was on the verge of collapsing. He didn't try to isolate himself, adding the Supreme Sage to it. If things get hectic, he would need her strength. And the black-robed female had no issues with this, silently agreeing to his words.

"We know you're part of a force that would rather remain anonymous. You can avoid directly offending Zenith Tower with us as your proxy," Suo Haoran offered with a bewitching voice.

Dai Yangdao transmitted their conversation in real time to Su Yu.

At the jade table, just as the first Mythical Punishment had descended, Su Yi's eyes brightened considerably! They wanted to…

…BLACKMAIL THE ZENITH REFINEMENT TOWER!!!

He subtly glanced at Wei Wuyin, whose unearthly handsome visage contained an eternal smile. Then, he briefly looked his way before returning his focus to the spiritual projection as if he didn't have any idea of what was happening. When Su Yi saw how distraught the now-skinny Supreme Sage was, his eyes glittered with excitement as well as a tinge of madness and greed. In comparison to whatever they were willing to wager, what was their lives worth?! The life of the Zenith Refinement Alchemic Saint! "Agree!" Su Yi replied.

Meanwhile, Wei Wuyin felt as if everything was falling into place. And as the second Mythical Punishment was about to eradicate the Supreme Sage of the Zenith Refinement Tower and all the remaining survivors, as if it was a popped bubble of liquid soap, the prismatic light shrouded in gold radiance dissipated without warning. It was gone.

The haggard and defiant state of the skinny Supreme Sage was reflected in the spiritual projection, her face the very expression of disbelief and surprise.

She lived? Her lightspeed-like thoughts almost immediately flared with rage, her soulful gaze darted to the Armored Boon Stellar Region, staring hatefully at the Original Dawn Palace, and she grinned with a menacing, vicious, ruthless light flickering intensely within her eyes. Wei Wuyin laughed, rising from his seat.

"Come on. I'll send you off myself," Wei Wuyin's laughter resounded throughout the Spiritual Network. "..." The skinny Supreme Sage of the Zenith Refinement Tower froze. Then, she twisted her grin into a scowl as she coldly snorted with enough force to shake the entire Galactic Zone. She vanished into the tower soon after. Wei Wuyin sat back down with a soft breath, shaking his head as if it was a pity someone hadn't sought death. The galaxy now knows what's at stake.
