Chapter 241: Dangerous Beliefs
```
"Alright, stop being mad, dinner's ready."
A few minutes later, after Dorothy had finished preparing dinner, she brought the dishes to the table and called out to the still grumpy Angel Witch on the sofa.
In response, the still-angered Sophia really didn't want to bother with that annoying lady, so she opened her mouth and said with determination,
"I don't..."
She wanted to say she wasn't hungry, but as soon as she turned her head and saw the huge, fragrant, magic-infused pan-seared True Dragon Meat on the table, she couldn't maintain her stubbornness.
She looked conflicted at first and then slowly got up from the sofa, struggling with her face, but eventually, she still came over and sat down at the table.
Well, it wasn't that she had forgiven that lady; it was just that as an Angel Witch, her strength came from within, and she was simply following the choice of her heart.
Across from her, Dorothy, seeing her roommate who protested too much, couldn't help but smirk, but this time she didn't provoke Sophia further, instead, she passed her a full bowl of Dragon Tooth Rice.
This was a kind of high-level rice quite popular in the Witch World, although it actually had nothing to do with dragons; it was named for its resemblance to dragon teeth. Dragon Tooth Rice tasted great, its magic energy was mild and easy to absorb, and the price was not too high, making it an affordable low-end magic food ingredient for ordinary witch families.
Well, today's replenishment of magic was enough with that piece of dragon meat, there was no need to waste high-level rice. Besides, cooking was about the right combination; not just any dish with all high-level ingredients would necessarily be tasty. As the main dish today was this piece of dragon meat, too good rice would compete with it and diminish the flavor of the dragon meat. This Dragon Tooth Rice was just perfect.
"Here, rice soaked in meat soup, better than immortality, a must-try."
Dorothy poured a spoon of meat soup into Sophia's bowl as she recommended.
However, the Angel Witch felt somewhat annoyed. There was no helping it; she was a stickler for purity, always having various strange, inexplicable peculiarities, such as she didn't like to see white things mixed with other colors.
Well, it was probably because she herself was pure white, so whenever she saw white defiled, it made her uncomfortable.
And now, that hateful lady had polluted the whiteness of her favorite rice right in front of her.
This infuriated Sophia so much that she didn't want to reach for the bowl. She was about to go serve herself another bowl, but before she could act, Dorothy forcibly stuffed the "polluted" bowl of rice into her hands.
"Eat it, why don't you eat? You can doubt everything about me, but please believe my expertise in cuisine."
Dorothy urged.
In response, Sophia truly didn't know how to retort, after all, others might not know, but she knew that the lady in front of her was actually the Witch of the Forest who had raised the culinary arts of the Witch World by who knows how many notches all by herself.
Listening to experts was one of Sophia's good habits. After all, as someone of upper status, she couldn't do everything herself; at such times, it was important to heed the advice of someone more knowledgeable in unfamiliar fields.
And right now, the lady was without a doubt an expert.
Tsk...
So even though she felt upset at the moment, the Angel Witch thought about it and didn't want to let her mood spontaneously change her principles of doing things; after all, exceptions only happened either zero times or countless times, so if it could be avoided, it should be avoided.
There and then, even though it was hard to stomach, she still picked up the chopsticks from the table and started to eat.
Well, these days she had already gotten quite accustomed to using chopsticks.
In the Witch World, the mainstream utensils had always been knife and fork, but chopsticks were also present since they had dealt with the immortals from the Eastern Universe, but few witch families considered chopsticks as the main utensil. Sophia had always used knife and fork before, but ever since living with the lady, she was now getting quite adept with chopsticks.
Tsk... Just thinking about this made Sophia's chopstick-holding hand slightly awkward.
After all, she had been brought up by her teacher and, naturally, her habits were somewhat influenced by her teacher. Although her personality wasn't as overbearing as her teacher's, she was still very stubborn. She didn't like the feeling of changing herself for others.
Well, I'll switch back to knife and fork tomorrow.
Before she realized it, it was fine, but now that she was aware of it, the Pure White Witch felt that the chopsticks were awkward no matter how she held them, she thought to herself.
Ah woo...
A bite of rice soaked in meat juice entered her mouth, and Sophia chewed reluctantly, not wanting to accept this "defiled" rice. How could such a thing possibly be...
Delicious...
Feeling the sweet taste of the rice and the rich flavor of the meat juice burst together magically in her mouth, Sophia felt her taste buds tremble. She really wanted to tell herself to have some backbone, to not yield to the lady, and not to like something she didn't, no matter how tasty it was, but her body betrayed her at that moment.
"I told you this was delicious, foolish mortal, the Shikigami's recommendation is beyond doubt."
Seeing Sophia already unconsciously holding the bowl and eating heartily, Dorothy nodded in satisfaction, feeling quite smug.
Heh, whatever grudges, sulking, or silent treatment, my bowl of rice ensured that she would gracefully surrender without a fight. You say I don't understand the human heart? I say you just don't understand the human stomach.
