That night, Jiang Kai and his team no longer had to worry about being ambushed by wild beasts. After a month of continuous fighting and traveling, everyone slept soundly.
Early the next morning, when Jiang Kai got up and stepped out the door, he saw the others already waiting in the courtyard.
Yuan Zhu and the rest had changed into their new Tier 2 equipment. Each of them looked refreshed and full of energy.
Jiang Kai smiled slightly and walked out of his room.

Western District, Arena Zone, Main City of the 18th District
At this moment, the area was already packed with people. A rough estimate showed that at least several thousand spectators had gathered.
Xia Tao had just finished guiding the new recruits who passed this month's rookie trials and was now leading them toward the western district arena.
"You guys are really lucky to have arrived just in time for the annual Guild Challenge Tournament. Since you're here, I thought I'd bring you all to watch," Xia Tao said with a smile, introducing the event to the newcomers. "The first event is the Team Battle. A total of 512 teams are participating. You'll get to see how veteran teams fight."
A delicate-looking girl with long, wine-red dyed hair scoffed in disdain. "What's so great about the group stage? The finals are where the real action is."
Xia Tao, known for his good temper, didn't get upset. He laughed and said, "Hong Shuang, it's because your brother is too strong that he's raised your standards. But even in the group stage, there are often amazing matches."
"Besides, there's another important reason why the higher-ups want you all to watch."
Hong Shuang, now curious, asked, "What reason?"
"In the F Group, there's a rather interesting team. Out of their five members, three only passed their rookie trial three months ago." Xia Tao deliberately emphasized, "You topped the rookie trial this time and earned a special reward, but in that team, there's a guy who was the national champion of his batch."
"Jiang Kai?" Hong Shuang immediately furrowed her brows and widened her eyes.
"Oh? Seems like you've done your research." Xia Tao chuckled. "That's right. He's the only national champion from Jiangzhong City in the past year and a half. His personal score even broke Huaxia's thirty-year record."
"You've been asking me how he's better than you, right? I wasn't there for your trials, so I couldn't tell you. But now, you can find out for yourself."
Xia Tao's words instantly piqued the curiosity of the new recruits.
A rookie from three months ago was already competing in the Team Battle?
That legendary rookie was actually here?
"Brother Xia, hurry! Find us a good spot!" Hong Shuang, now fully invested, dropped her earlier attitude.

At the same time, a group of more than thirty people, dressed in professional military uniforms, was making their way through the crowd toward Arena No. 7.
Upon arrival, they went straight to the front row of the spectator seats and took their places.
Among them were two of Jiang Kai's old acquaintances—Lu Jun and Su Lanlan.
Several members of the group carried tablet-like devices. As soon as they sat down, they began making adjustments.
Moments later, an elderly man with graying hair turned to Lu Jun and said, "Lu, everything's set. During the match, we'll be able to evaluate Su Nuannuan and Yuan Zhu's performances."
Lu Jun nodded. Just then, Su Lanlan spoke up. "Professor Li, could you add one more person to the evaluation?"
"Hm? Weren't we only assessing Yuan Zhu and Nuannuan?" Professor Li asked in confusion.
"It's the general's request," Su Lanlan explained. "He said that if it's convenient, he'd like an additional performance evaluation."
Professor Li hesitated for a moment before nodding. "If it's the general's request, of course, we can do it. Who's the additional subject?"
"The captain of Fire God Squad—Jiang Kai."
"Alright, we'll include him in the assessment."

7:45 AM
On the No. 7 arena stage, three military personnel stepped up.
One of them picked up a microphone and announced to the crowd, "The F Group Team Battle will begin in fifteen minutes. Please remain in your seats and avoid unnecessary movement. Participating teams: Black Tortoise - Instant Kill Squad from Group A, and Lord God - Fire God Squad from Group C. If you're present, you may step onto the stage now."
The military had long been aware of the Lord God Guild, but for the general audience, this was the first time they'd heard of it.
"Seems like a new guild. Running into Black Tortoise right away? Talk about bad luck."
"Black Tortoise is one thing, but they're up against Instant Kill—one of the top squads in their Tier 2 division!"
"Wait, is Huang Da still in Tier 2? Why hasn't that guy moved up to Tier 3 yet? How long does he plan to dominate Tier 2?"
"Fire God Squad… That name sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it…"
Just then, Instant Kill Squad stepped onto the stage.
The entire F Group zone erupted in cheers at the arrival of this powerhouse team.
Many Black Tortoise Guild members shouted loudly.
"Instant Kill takes the stage, unstoppable as always."
"Three minutes! Take them out in three minutes."
"This year, Instant Kill will make history with a three-time championship. Black Tortoise is invincible!"
Huang Da strode onto the stage, standing tall as he looked down at the crowd below.
He was long used to this kind of roaring support, but he wasn't here for the cheers—his focus was solely on his opponent.
"Jiang Kai isn't here yet?" Huang Da narrowed his eyes. "Don't tell me he backed out after finding out he had to fight me."
A burly man behind him sneered. "Young Master Huang, that'd be normal. After all, who doesn't know of your reputation? That Jiang Kai dared mess with Young Master Wei, but would he dare mess with you?"
Huang Da snorted. "Jiang Kai, you acted all tough before. Don't tell me you're chickening out now."
———
7:55 AM
Ten minutes had passed. Only five minutes left before the match started. Even Huang Da was growing impatient.
"Don't tell me he actually forfeited…"
The thought of Jiang Kai backing out infuriated him. He roared at the crowd, "Jiang Kai, you coward!"
Just then, someone finally responded from below.
"Big Huang, what are you yelling about up there? Coward or not, let's fight and find out."
That voice—
Huang Da's eyes instantly snapped toward the entrance.
Five figures strode confidently toward the stage.
Leading the group was a young man in a black outfit, his short hair sharp and clean. His lean frame moved with precise, effortless strides, and his gaze was unwavering.
Behind him walked a towering man, two meters tall, his muscular frame filling out his black leather armor. His white trousers stretched over thick, powerful legs.
Beside the giant was a slender young woman with curves in all the right places and delicate, well-defined features. She habitually tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, revealing her snow-white neck. Under thick, long eyelashes, her clear eyes held a stubborn determination.
To her side stood a tall, thin man with a mustache, about 1.82 meters, dressed in a gray robe. His small eyes gleamed with cunning sharpness.
On the far left was a stocky man, around 1.7 meters tall, with messy, unkempt long hair. A wine gourd hung at his waist, and he walked with his head slightly lowered, avoiding eye contact—a man who didn't seem too confident.
Each of them bore no official guild insignia. Instead, their names were scrawled across their chests in messy handwriting.
Lord God - Fire God Squad!
