One Piece:Becoming the King of the World from the Rocks Era

Chapter 262: Chapter 262: The Roger Pirates Surrounded

"Just as we thought, the dogs of the World Government!" Jabba sneered upon seeing their attire.

They had suspected it was a trap set by the World Government, but they couldn't resist the lure of the clues they had been pursuing for so long.

"Roger, you're surrounded. Surrender now, and you might have a chance to live and reach Impel Down, otherwise, it's a dead end!" declared Army Admiral Jenol Bolton.

To capture the Roger Pirates, the World Government deployed its newly appointed Army Admiral, the new CP0 leader Joshua Rangel, and two top-tier fighters from the Celestial Dragon families, making five top-tier combatants in total, along with numerous subordinates. The World Government had sent all available forces, short of the Five Elders themselves, ensuring the Roger Pirates had no escape.

"Hahaha, you think you can capture the Roger Pirates with just this? You're far from enough!" Roger laughed heartily, secretly thankful that the Infinite Pirates had occupied Garp and Sengoku. Without them, they truly would have been doomed.

"Divine Departure!"

Roger swiftly drew his sword Ace, wrapped in dark red Haki, crackling with lightning, and charged at the weakest top-tier combatant he sensed.

"Inferno!"

Rayleigh, though not telepathic with Roger, understood his intentions. As Roger made his move, Rayleigh's sword Gryphon also unleashed terrifying lightning, attacking in unison.

Their sudden attack, targeting the same individual, caught the top-tier fighter from the Celestial Dragon family off guard. Despite his best defenses, he was slashed and sent flying over a thousand meters, sustaining significant injuries and creating a gap in the encirclement.

"Not good, attack together!!!"

Seeing this, Army Admiral Bolton quickly moved to block Roger and his crew's escape.

Simultaneously, Jabba also sprang into action!

"Axe Strike!"

With both hands gripping his massive axe, Jabba channeled all his strength into it, delivering a mighty slash that tore through the sky, blocking several top-tier fighters from surrounding Roger.

Though their combined strike shattered Jabba's slash, it bought Roger and his crew a moment to break through.

Unfortunately, if it were just Roger, Rayleigh, and Jabba, this opening would have sufficed for their escape. But the Roger Pirates also had other crew members and historians who could decipher the Poneglyphs but lacked combat strength, and they were quickly halted.

Roger, the strongest fighter, held back both Army Admiral Bolton and CP0 Chief Joshua Rangel, while Rayleigh and Jabba each engaged other top-tier combatants.

The rest of the Roger Pirates fought their way toward the "Oro Jackson." If they could board the ship, they could set sail.

However, unbeknownst to them, the World Government had already dispatched forces to deal with the Roger Pirates' ship. The crew left to guard the "Oro Jackson" were fiercely defending it.

"Roger, surrender now, or your crew will all perish!" Admiral Bolton taunted as he and CP0 Chief Rangel besieged Roger.

Though the Roger Pirates were elite, they were beginning to suffer casualties against the overwhelming numbers of the World Government forces.

"Hahaha, the Roger Pirates are the freest crew, and no one can bind our freedom, not even the World Government!" Roger exclaimed, fighting two opponents without faltering, swinging Ace with all his might.

Even though those opposing Roger were top-tier, there were still gaps between them and legends like Garp and Sengoku.

"Enough talk, kill him, and the rest will fall!"

"Crushing Fist!"

As he spoke, CP0 Chief Rangel launched a gray, pulverizing force from his fist, cracking the air and nearly fracturing space itself.

Having consumed the Paramecia-type Crush-Crush Fruit, Rangel's formidable abilities secured his position as CP0 Chief, marking him as a newly cultivated top-tier combatant by the World Government.

"Divine Departure!!!"

Roger, never one to fear a frontal assault, met Rangel's fist with Ace, the powerful Haki and lightning shattering the crushing force and sending Rangel flying hundreds of meters.

Despite Rangel's strong Devil Fruit powers, his Haki and physique were far inferior to Roger's, leaving him considerably weaker despite his top-tier status.

"Iron Arm: Decisive Strike!"

As Roger struck, Admiral Bolton transformed his right arm into a blackened, Haki-infused weapon, launching a terrifying punch at Roger.

Like Kong, Admiral Bolton was a master of martial arts and Haki, with his right arm being his most potent weapon.

"Divine Departure!!!"

Having just repelled Rangel, Roger used the recoil to turn, gathering immense Haki into Ace for another Divine Departure.

As black arm met Ace, Roger's overwhelming strength shattered the Haki surrounding Bolton's arm, sending him flying back like Rangel.

Temporarily repelling the two, Roger quickly aided Jabba, helping him injure a top-tier fighter from the Celestial Dragon family with a joint Divine Departure.

When Rangel and Bolton returned, Roger intercepted them again, preventing them from attacking Rayleigh and Jabba.

"Roger is incredibly strong. Change tactics, wear him down!" Admiral Bolton, recognizing Roger's might, abandoned hopes of a swift kill, opting for attrition.

Even the strongest tire, and they believed they could exhaust Roger's stamina and Haki before striking the final blow.

Meanwhile, the Walde Pirates:

"Brother, with the Navy's top forces battling the Infinite Pirates, isn't Marineford left unguarded?" Walde mused, reading the newspaper.

Since acquiring Explosive Rocks, Walde had been evading the Navy, refining the rocks by adding a timed detonation switch to their containers.

With this powerful weapon, his destructive urges soared, aiming to destroy the world, starting with the Navy and World Government, and ultimately the Celestial Dragons.

Walde, more experienced and wiser than in the original story, had changed under his brother's influence, becoming smarter and less reckless.

"Marineford still has Fleet Admiral Kong. If we attack by ship, we'll be detected before reaching it!"

"If Kong learns about the Explosive Rocks, they'll prepare."

"We must either do nothing or ensure a single, devastating strike," Bin Jack advised.

He suggested using Walde's powers to amplify the Explosive Rocks a hundredfold, then dropping them from the sky, triggering them upon impact, ensuring their safety away from the blast.

They had tested this method, blowing up an island in the Calm Belt, nearly sinking their ship from the resulting tidal wave and explosion.

While excited by the power, they were equally wary, knowing they needed a safe distance to avoid self-destruction.

"Fly? You mean collaborating with Shiki?" Walde asked.

Currently, only someone like the Golden Lion with flight abilities could reach Marineford or Mary Geoise from above.

"Don't involve the Golden Lion, too risky. In his domain, you'd be at a disadvantage."

"Find a flying Devil Fruit and train someone to fly. That's safer," Bin Jack suggested.

"Agreed, let's do it!"

Walde was patient, determined to destroy the world.

The battle between the Navy and Infinite Pirates had raged for three days and nights, with the G2 Fortress half-occupied by pirates.

Pirates continuously poured ashore, while the injured returned to ships for treatment, rejoining the fight once healed.

In just three days, combined Navy and Army casualties neared 200,000, while the Infinite Pirates lost about 40,000.

The G2 Fortress was a hellscape of constant combat, cannon fire, and rivers of blood amidst piles of corpses.

"Hahaha, Admiral Zephyr, is that all you got?!"

Ashura Doji, drenched in his own blood, relentlessly swung his sword Earth Doom at Zephyr.

Having fought Zephyr alone for three days, Ashura Doji, exhausted and wounded, still burned with determination.

Five years ago, he and Barrett barely held off Zephyr after five days of fighting.

Two years ago, he and Chinjao easily stalled Zephyr.

Now, he held Zephyr alone for three days, closing the gap between them, nearing admiral-level strength.

Given more time, he was confident he'd match an admiral, never again falling behind in a duel.

"Hmph, battles aren't just about now, think of the future. You're out of stamina!" Zephyr retorted.

For three days, Zephyr fought steadily, frustrating Ashura Doji.

Ashura Doji, however, had to give everything to keep Zephyr from affecting other battles, draining his stamina.

Zephyr, suddenly enveloped in white smoke, used Life Return to boost his strength.

"Wrist Cannon: Gunshot!!"

Zephyr accelerated, nearly catching Ashura Doji off guard.

Ashura Doji focused his remaining energy into Earth Doom, pushing his limits.

As a master swordsman, he trusted his sword, pouring his will and strength into a single strike, surpassing his limits.

"One-Sword Style: Ashura Slash!"

Ashura Doji emitted white smoke, his Asura spirit becoming tangible.

With reckless intensity, he shattered Zephyr's Wrist Cannon, sending Zephyr flying hundreds of meters.

"Cough, reached my limit?"

But after striking Zephyr away, Ashura Doji collapsed, reverting to human form.

Every muscle felt torn, and he had no strength left.

That last strike exhausted him, and though he repelled Zephyr, he had reached his end.
