The battlefield stood stil ,lthe Ringwraith, a creature of fear and darkness, found itself hesitating. It had never known fear itself—until now.

Luffy stood before it, his golden aura pulsating like an unchained storm. His eyes, once filled with carefree adventure, now held something else—power.

Buggy, still gripping the Ring, was shaking. "T-This isn't normal… What the hell is happening to you, Straw Hat?!"

Robin's eyes narrowed. "Luffy… that aura. It's not just Haki, is it?"

Luffy flexed his fingers. He could feel it. A new strength pulsing through his veins.

For a brief moment, in that dark void, he had seen something.

A memory.

A voice.

A will.

And now? It was part of him.

He grinned. "Dunno. But I like it."

The Ringwraith roared. It refused to be intimidated by a mere mortal. It lunged forward, raising its cursed sword, aiming straight for Luffy's heart.

But this time—Luffy didn't dodge.

"Gomu Gomu no… Dawn Fist!"

He punched forward—

But the moment his fist made contact, something incredible happened.

The sky split.

The shockwave sent sand and debris flying in every direction.

The Ringwraith's sword shattered.

Its armor cracked.

The creature let out a screech of agony as its body began to burn with golden flames. It stumbled back, clutching its chest, as if trying to resist an unseen force.

Zoro's eyes widened. "That attack… It's like nothing he's used before."

Sanji exhaled smoke. "Yeah… That's definitely not normal."

Luffy stared at his own fist, still glowing faintly. He could feel it—the lingering presence of something ancient.

The legacy of a forgotten king.

The Ringwraith snarled, summoning shadowy energy, but Luffy didn't give it a chance.

BOOM!

Another punch sent the Wraith flying.

The cursed knight crashed into the ground, its form fading, dissolving into mist. The howling wind carried its final screech into the void.

Then—

Silence.

The battle was over.

Usopp wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Holy crap… H-He actually won?!"

Franky crossed his arms. "Damn right he did! That's our captain!"

Nami sighed in relief. "But what the hell was that?! He took out that thing in just two hits!"

Chopper examined Luffy, concern in his eyes. "Luffy, are you okay? You look… different."

Luffy blinked. "Huh? I feel fine!"

Robin stepped forward, her gaze serious. "No. You've changed. The power you used… It wasn't just Haki."

Luffy tilted his head. "Then what was it?"

Buggy, who had been silent, slowly stepped forward. He raised the Ring.

And then—

He laughed.

"Bahahahahaha! NOW I GET IT!"

The crew turned to him, confused.

Buggy grinned, pointing at Luffy.

"You idiot! You're not just some random pirate chasing after treasure!" His expression turned serious.

"You're his successor."

Luffy scratched his head. "Whose?"

Buggy smirked.

"The first King of the Pirates."

Silence.

Robin's eyes widened. "That's impossible. His bloodline would have been erased centuries ago."

Buggy shook his head. "Doesn't matter. The Ring doesn't obey blood. It obeys will. And you, Straw Hat…" He pointed at Luffy's chest.

"You have his will."

Luffy blinked. Then, slowly, he grinned.

"Cool."

Nami smacked his head. "THAT'S ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?!"

Luffy laughed, rubbing the back of his head. "What else is there to say? If I'm his successor, then I'll just do what I always do."

He turned to the horizon, his grin widening.

"I'll become King of the Pirates."

The crew stared at him for a moment.

Then—Zoro smirked. "Heh. Like hell we're stopping now."

Sanji adjusted his tie. "Tch. Might as well see this through."

Franky struck a pose. "This is gonna be SOOOO SUPER!"

Usopp gulped. "Y-Yeah! And if Luffy's the king's successor, then that means I'm totally the legendary warrior of the sea!"

Nami rolled her eyes. "Oh, brother…"

Robin chuckled. "This journey just became a lot more interesting."

Chopper grinned. "Luffy's awesome!"

Buggy crossed his arms. "Alright, Straw Hat. You won this round. But if you're serious about this…"

His grin widened.

"Then you'd better get ready. Because the World Government just felt that battle. And they won't ignore it."

Luffy cracked his knuckles. "Good. Let 'em come."

As the sun began to rise, casting a golden light over the battlefield, the Straw Hats knew—

Their adventure had just reached its most dangerous stage yet.

And Luffy?

Was he really ready?
