Chapter 5: 5- The Physique of the D clan
Flevance truly was a prosperous town. Considering it had once been relatively poor before the discovery of Amber Lead, it wasn't hard to understand why both the World Government and the King of Flevance chose to remain silent, even after learning about Amber Lead Syndrome. I wasn't justifying their actions—but I understood. The sheer profitability of the resource was too tempting.
Maybe if the Amber Lead disease was less deadly, I guess even the people of Flevance would continue mining Amber Lead, even after knowing about it.
Walking through the bustling streets, I made my first stop at a clothing shop. The filthy garments I had scavenged from that pirate ship were revolting, though still better than the crude animal skins I had been forced to wear during my time on that forsaken island. After purchasing new clothes, I headed to a saloon for a proper haircut and shave. Feeling refreshed, I returned to my hotel, took a long, well-earned bath, and dressed in my new attire. Finally, I looked like a civilized man again.
The discomfort of those years in isolation had been more mentally taxing than physically exhausting. Now that I was back in civilization, I intended to enjoy some of its comforts.
But there was another reason I had come to Flevance—one far more important than simply indulging in modern luxuries.
The D clan genes.
If there was any way to acquire them, it would be through Trafalgar Law's lineage. Finding his parents shouldn't be too difficult. His father, despite hiding his D initial later in life, was said to be the best doctor in Flevance. That meant I needed to locate a young doctor with the surname Trafalgar.
It was better this way, since even if someone found out, they would not suspect that I was looking for people with the initial 'D' in their name, after all the world government was quite meticulous about that.
Rather than resorting to covert methods, I took the simpler approach—gathering information over a meal. I found a well-established restaurant, ordered an absurd amount of food (around ten to twelve full servings compared to what I would have eaten on Earth), and made casual conversation with the owner. Pretending that a friend had recommended a visit to Doctor Trafalgar, I asked for directions.
As expected, finding a renowned doctor was easy. Even though he was still young, people were already talking about his talent. The restaurant owner also recommended a few older, more experienced doctors, but I politely declined, thanking him for the suggestion. I wasn't exactly in need of medical treatment, after all.
While I did have some curiosity about the medical advancements of this world and how they differed from those on Earth, I could save that for a trip to Drum Island. Instead, I focused on another critical task—determining my exact timeline and location.
After purchasing a newspaper and a map of North Blue, I confirmed the current date: November 22, 1490.
That meant I had spent approximately three and a half years stranded on that island. It had felt like over a decade in isolation. That kind of solitude wasn't good for the mind... but it had given me time to hone my abilities.
North Blue was infamous for its rough, chaotic culture—except in places like Flevance, where overwhelming wealth ensured stability, The kingdom was rich enough to maintain a good defence, and people were rich enough to not resort to robbery.
There were still many locations I wanted to visit before history took its course. Ohara, for instance, had an unparalleled library. Absorbing its knowledge before its inevitable destruction would be good.
As for my next major objective, East Blue seemed like the perfect training ground. It was peaceful, and I had a specific plan in mind—one that, if executed correctly, could give me the potential to surpass even the future Four Emperors.
Another long-term goal? Marshall D. Teach.
The only known individual capable of wielding multiple Devil Fruits. If I could acquire his unique genetic trait, my power would skyrocket. No one in this world—no one—would be able to develop their Devil Fruit abilities as efficiently as I could. That was the confidence I had as a transmigrator.
When the moon was at its peak and the town had settled into slumber, I made my move.
Doctor Trafalgar lived alone, I guess he was not married now. That made things easier for me. Using Observation Haki, I confirmed his presence inside—one man, asleep. No other disturbances.
With a simple Room, I teleported inside.
Maintaining the Room's boundaries, I activated one of my original techniques—Conqueror's Domain.
This was a fusion of Conqueror's Haki and the Ope Ope no Mi. Within the enclosed space, my Haki energy rebounded off the Room's limits, condensing and amplifying itself. Just as unstable energy could lead to the formation of mass, my Haki, continuously colliding against its own barrier, became exponentially denser. The result? A level of intimidation that rivaled, or even exceeded, Shanks' peak Conqueror's Haki— within this confined space.
And I could do this with just my level of Haki, imagine if I reached the same level as Shanks or Roger, then used this move, what will happen then?
The purpose of using it now was simple: to ensure that Doctor Trafalgar had no hidden power.
The D clan was notorious for its unpredictability. I couldn't afford to be reckless.
His body spasmed briefly before collapsing into an even deeper unconscious state. No resistance. That confirmed it—he was just an ordinary man, albeit with an extraordinary lineage.
Now came the real work.
With my Ope Ope no Mi, I dissected his genetic structure at a near-microscopic level. My time on the island had been spent honing this very ability—studying animal genes, mapping their properties, and enhancing my precision. Inside the Room, I could magnify and analyze every detail of his DNA.
I immediately noticed the Amber Lead Syndrome within his cells. A deadly fate awaited him.
As a gesture of gratitude, I cured him.
Then, I extracted his genetic code and copied it into my own body.
Satisfied, I teleported back to my hotel room and began the next phase—enhancement.
Simply copying a strong genetic template wasn't enough. To truly become strong, I had to refine it.
Using the Ope Ope no Mi, I meticulously removed every genetic defect and amplified his natural strengths.
Then came my unique training method.
Instead of physically exercising, I used my Devil Fruit to stimulate every muscle fiber in my body simultaneously, pushing them to the brink of exhaustion and then accelerating their repair.
This was far superior to traditional training.
Every muscle was activated at once.
Healing was assisted at a cellular level, eliminating hidden injuries.
My body's natural potential was fully utilized.
Unfortunately, this method had a limitation—it depended on my base genetics. My previous body had plateaued within a month. But now, with Trafalgar's D-clan physique, I had new potential to unlock.
As I refined my new physique, I compared it to the pirate's body from before. One fundamental difference stood out:
The pirate's body's excess energy bathed his cells, offering minor reinforcement.
The D-clan's body's energy infused directly into the cells, strengthening them from within.
This was the true power of the D bloodline—superior cellular efficiency.
Taking it a step further, I enhanced my digestion and energy absorption rate, using all my medical knowledge and the difference between the two bodies, boosting the efficiency of my new body by 40%.
Now, all that remained was time.
Once I had trained this new body to its full potential, I would move on to the next step.
After all, if this was what an ordinary D bloodline could offer...
What kind of monster would I become with Charlotte Linlin's or superior D clan physique like Garp or Roger?
Even I was eager to find out.
