Chapter 5: MEETING THE PARENTS
She passed by a lot of servants. All of the maidservants were dressed the same way as the other two who had left her room.
The manservants wore a white shirt with brown trousers.
The servants all bowed and kept their heads lowered till she passed them. Whenever she nodded in response to their greetings, a look of surprise would appear on their faces before disappearing as quickly as it came.
If she hadn't been so sharp, she wouldn't have caught it. It was almost as if they hadn't shown any expression in the first place.
[What strange servants they've got here.]
She kept looking around the place discreetly. [It really is a mansion.] Aristia thought.
The floors were polished so much they sparkled. The ceilings were carved just like her room and there were enormous chandeliers illuminating the corridors.
There were large windows on the walls, but no floor-to-ceiling windows.
There were many corridors that connected and led to different places. It was very easy to get lost here.
"Well, I better stick to Adeline," she murmured.
"Did you say something, princess?" Adeline stopped to ask.
"I didn't," Aristia shook her head.
Adeline nodded and continued silently.
Finally, Adeline stopped in front of a door. Aristia assumed it was the dining room.
A guard was stationed in front of the doors.
After bowing, he opened the door for her and shut it when she entered. She looked around the large dining room and immediately noticed a few maids standing by the wall with their heads bowed.
[Aren't their necks hurting?] She thought and turned her gaze away from them to stare at the people seated at the dining table.
There at the dining table were the people whom she guessed were Aristia's parents, if it wasn't already glaringly obvious through their features.
The man sat at the head of the table and the woman sat at his right.
They were the esteemed Grand Duke Wilson Amberale and Grand Duchess Catherine Amberale.
[I guess I can be said to be meeting the parents.] She snickered.
She sat on a random seat at the dining table that was very close to Aristia's parents.
She sat opposite the woman and on Wilson's left side to be on the safe side, and decided to properly observe Aristia's parents.
Her father, Grand Duke Wilson Amberale, had deep black eyes that seemed bottomless and light grey hair. It was his natural color and not due to old age— hell, he looked very young. Wilson possessed a toned physique, with defined muscles that suggested strength and fitness without being overly bulky or ripped. It was just right.
Her mother, Grand Duchess Catherine Amberale, possessed hair as black as the night, cascading down to her waist in sleek, straight strands. Her captivating sparkling violet eyes shimmered with an enchanting allure. She had an hourglass figure and also wasn't lacking in the chest area. In fact, she was very rich in that area.
Ahem.
Aristia blushed a little.
The next second, she was stunned. Their hair and eye colour wasn't what caught her attention, though. It was their faces.
So d*mn beautiful!!!
[I've never seen or heard of anyone as beautiful as these two in my twenty four years alive on this Earth, and I've seen a lot of handsome and beautiful men and women due to my involvement in the entertainment and fashion industries and the high society social circles, also from being a beauty myself. With such dazzling features, it's no wonder Aristia looks so beautiful.]
Could she poach them? She wondered. She could have had a chance if it was in her world. And they weren't so freaking wealthy.
"... dear, are you okay?"
Aristia was snapped back to reality by the concern filled voice of Catherine.
"Uh, yes... Mother?" Aristia asked, adding the title 'mother' when she recalled the woman's identity.
"Tia, you weren't responding," Catherine continued, addressing Aristia by her nickname. "What's wrong?"
She noticed how her daughter referred to her as 'Mother' and not the usual 'Mama' and a small concerned frown graced her lips.
"It's nothing, ahem... Mama." Aristia replied when she noticed her previous mistake concerning Aristia's way of addressing her parents. "It's just that Mama and Papa are just too pretty." She said in a cute babyish voice.
She wanted to shiver at the cringe worthy sound but it wasn't cringe worthy at all. It sounded very cute in her ears, and she knew it had an even higher effect on her parents.
A happy smile started forming on Catherine's face. Wilson also had a wide smile on his face.
Servants entered the dining room at that moment and started to place dishes after dish on the table.
"Cathy," Wilson turned to his wife, "Isn't Tia the cutest?"
"Yes, Will. She is."
Aristia ignored book Aristia's fans of a mother and father when something else caught her attention.
A tantalizing smell wafted into her nose and she closed her eyes.
When she opened them, her eyes widened at the table's content. The servants had lifted the lids off each dish, releasing the trapped aroma of delicious food.
[Holy Cow, look at all this food. There's chicken, freshly baked bread, stew, pork, beef, milk and wine and all this only for three people? I hope they don't waste any. I hate when people waste good food. There are lots of people who barely have any food to even think of wasting the little they get].
It wasn't like she hadn't eaten most of the food on the table in her original world, it was just that as a well-known business woman, actress and model, she had to watch her shape and thus she couldn't eat whatever she wanted. She had to watch the carbs. She wasn't one of those people who, no matter what they ate, never added weight.
[What are they called again? Ahah, I got it. They're called people with fast metabolism rate... I think. But I don't know if this body is one of them though. Oh well, I guess there's only one way to find out].
"I'm gonna eat my way to my answer," she whispered to herself as she quickly made herself comfortable in her seat.
"Hm?" Wilson muttered, but none heard him.
