Chapter 527: I’m Back
As my vision adapted after teleporting, I found myself above a metropolis.
Unlike the modern and contemporary designs I’m used to in South Korea, this place had a different feel.
The buildings were a mix of classic and modern, mostly not tall, creating a unique atmosphere than I’m used to.
From my view, the city looked like a living map of this nations history and culture.
It was a representation of countless years of hard work to become the richest and most powerful nation in the world in terms of military power—and also by having a lot debt to fund all those big toys.
They seemed to go along quite well, having one of the most debt and also the right to deter anyone from collecting using their overwhelming military power.
It was like a bizarre game of financial warfare, where the one with the biggest IOUs also had the biggest stick to wave around.
All these things were insignificant to me. I was here for one reason: to show the world that I, the very model of humbleness and modesty, had come to save it.
The sound of alarm rang out , and multiple anti-air missiles popped up from the ground, all aimed at me.
They had spotted me, but I wasn’t really worried, because I was not hiding on the first place.
I was now wearing a black magical robe with golden scale-like patterns mimicking a dragon.
In my hand was, of course, my golden staff, adding an intimidating effect to my overall persona.
If they can’t spot me in all this flashy clothing, they owe their citizens an apology for collecting so much tax money for nothing.
As I waited for their next move, I observed tanks beginning to emerge from the underground base beneath the ground.
But it wasn’t just tanks; people in black heavy armored suits appeared, each holding advance rifles .
Judging by this extravagant display of firepower, I could practically see the national budget flying out the window.
"Stop! This is a restricted place" one of the armored personnel spoke out
I focused on him and noticed that he was wearing a more advanced version of the armor.
Instead of a rifle, he held a sniper-type weapon, judging from the long barrel and scooped on it.
"I’m not even moving," I replied with a calm tone.
The armored personnel seemed confused by my casual response.
"What are you doing here? And who are you affiliated with?" he asked, perhaps thinking I was just a gifted individual.
"I came here to offer everyone a solution, so I need to talk to your president," I explained calmly, hoping to convey my intentions without resorting to violence.
They seemed to believe my words as they exchanged glances with each other.
However, our peaceful conversation was abruptly interrupted by a humming sound echoing in the sky.
As I looked towards the horizon, thousands of silver humanoid robots flew directly towards me
Within moments, the entire sky was jammed with them, creating an imposing sight above the city.
They hovered in the sky, each equipped with boosters at the bottom of their feet and hands to maintain flight.
’Woah, I didn’t expect the Astor Family to move so fast,’ I mused to myself.
Judging from the fact that all of these robots were unmanned, it became clear that they were already aware of my power, and was hesitant to send their main force.
They wanted to test my capabilities using these robots as sacrificial pawn.
"Are you the Supreme Archmage?" one of the robots spoke through the built-in speaker.
"Supreme God Mage, actually. I’ve had a bit of a promotion," I joked, unable to resist injecting some humor into the situation.
However, it seemed that whoever was controlling all of this didn’t find my humor as amusing as I did, as I didn’t receive a standing ovation. Explore stories at NovelBin.Côm
Suddenly, an aged voice boomed from below, cutting through the air
"W— We demand to know your intentions!"
An old man who looked like he was already decaying step forward.
His voice, amplified by the speakers, sounded like it was shaking as much as his wrinkled face.
Poor guy, being forced to lead a country at his age. I couldn’t help but wonder if he wished he was just enjoying retirement instead.
’Gotta hand it to the land of the free, a place where everyone can achieve their dream as long as they put effort, where even a demented old man could be president,’ I mused to myself, impressed by how consistent the theme was.
However, I could tell that the person in front of me was just a dummy.
Behind the scenes, the true puppet master of this country was the Astor Family.
The same family who sent this bunch of flying robots to greet me.
"I’m here to offer you a solution," I replied , my voice calm .
"What?" the old man asked.
"I said, I’m here to offer you a solution." I repeated, but I could tell from his face that he did not hear me because of the distance , or he already have hearing problems, which was not really shocking considering his age.
"What?"
BLINK!
I teleported right beside him.
"I said, I’m here to offer you a solution," I whispered gently into his ear to make sure that he understood my words clearly.
However—
Even that was too much of shocker that he stumbled to the ground, and he was so old that even the falling motion was slow.
"Protect the president!" One of the presidential guards ran toward me.
He was gifted too, and as he clenched and throw his fist, it generated a whooshing sound from the pressure.
But instead of landing a powerful blow, a barrier formed around me and completely stopped the punch.
Next, I quickly grabbed the dummy president and flew into the air.
Now, they wouldn’t be able to attack me because I have a human shield.
"Let’s not be hasty here. I know this grandpa is barely breathing, but he’s still your president," I chuckled aloud, my voice amplified so everyone could hear it.
