Chapter 503 Gathering of Power
After walking for around 10 minutes, we reached a walled palace in the middle of the city.
It has a much grander design than the rest, which gives away the fact that this was the main base.
The exterior walls, standing tall and proud, typical of traditional Imperial architecture.
Constructed from sturdy brick and stone, they formed a formidable barrier around the area, ensuring both protection and prestige.
At its heart stood a wide structure, its roof boasting sweeping curves and ornate eaves, reminiscent of imperial palaces of old times.
I could also sense the presence of dozens of powerful individuals inside, but none was capable of giving me that much of a challenge.
Perhaps the me before transcending would have struggled in combat against them, or even be defeated.
But in this moment, I would have to try really really hard , if I wanted to get hurt.
"So, what's the plan? How do we enter?" Shao Mi inquired.
"We'll just walk in like normal,"
"Okay," she nodded without asking too much questions, her mind still preoccupied with our earlier conversation.
Climbing the grand staircase, I led her towards the imposing wooden red door, flanked by six guards wearing black robes with dragon patterns on the siding.
As we got much closer, the guards narrowed their eyes, suspicious about our identity .
"Stop and state your business in the palace," one of the guards commanded, his voice firm and his gaze sweeping from top to bottom, assessing us with his scrutinizing eyes
"We're here to deliver a report to the Clan Leader. We're secret agents assigned in Earth," I replied confidently, producing a paper which I just made up.
"These are the results of my findings," I added, waving the documents.
"Let me see," the guard demanded, raising his hand to get the documents.
"Can't do, these are confidential documents," I replied firmly.
I couldn't give it to him because they were all blank papers to begin with.
The guards exchanged doubtful glances with each other before one spoke up, "We're not familiar with your faces."
"Well, if you knew our faces, we wouldn't be very good secret agents, would we?" I responded with a taunting remark.
"Are you insulting us?" The guard gritted his teeth, his aura leaking out as he attempted to intimidate me.
"What if I am ?" My cold voice echoed, and as I released my own power, they all felt their bodies grow heavier, standing becoming a struggle.
The aura I was releasing had the same energy signature as theirs, albeit more condensed and concentrated.
I heard from Zendy that in the Zol Clan, the more powerful you are, the higher your status would be. It was a system where the strongest were at the top, simple and efficient.
And it worked best for me, because I could control the amount of power to display.
Right now, it was strong enough to secure a high status, but not so overpowering as to challenge the position of the Clan leader.
"Forgive us!" Their heads bowed in unison.
After sensing the gap in our abilities, they all assumed I held a high-ranking status within the clan.
"Why should I? I should just crashed your heads for insulting me," I threatened them.
The males here were famous for their ruthlessness, so it was safer to act like a psychopathic asshole,
Then again, I didn't really have to act—I was pretty much like this to begin with.
"We apologize, you can come in now," the guard who appeared to be the leader knelt on the ground to show his sincerity .
They might be ruthless, but they weren't stupid enough to pick a losing battle.
Besides, most of the guards were the untalented members of the clan, so it was only natural that they were more docile and easier to frighten.
"Count yourself lucky that I'm in a good mood right now," I said with a sneer, my tone dripping with disdain.
I glanced back at the guard, who was still shaken by our encounter, before turning and pushing open the heavy wooden door.
As we stepped through the door, the interior unfolded before us.
The floor beneath our feet was smooth, and made of wood, polished to a mirror-like sheen.
The interior was not heavy in furniture, save for the lanterns that cast a warm glow across the wide hall.
From the entrance, numerous doors without covers could be seen on the side, leading to different parts of the palace.
At the middle end, a wide staircase stood, ascending to the second floor.
'Is there a gathering?' I mused inwardly, sensing the concentration of powerful individuals above.
"Let's head upstairs," I said to Shao Mi, motioning for her to follow me.
As we reached the top, the murmurs of conversation grew louder, mingling with the soft rustle of garments.
We rounded a corner and entered a spacious chamber where the high ranking members of the Zol Clan members had gathered.
At the center of the room stood the Clan Leader Zelly, her presence commanding the attention of all.
She stood out in her stunning red Longpao, the traditional imperial attire adorned with intricate dragon and auspicious pattern embroideries.
Golden lacing added an extra layer of elegance to the gown, enhancing its style.
Her hair, elegantly gathered into a ponytail, featured delicate braids that added to her majestic appearance.
Atop her head, a tiara with a unique design and a shimmering red gem at its center, adding a touch of beauty to her already almost flawless appearance.
She looked really captivating in her resplendent attire, her beauty surpassing even that of Zayen.
In fact, in terms of sheer attractiveness, perhaps only Shao Mi surpassed her. Find adventures at empire
And that was saying something, considering Shao Mi was renowned as the most beautiful woman in the entire planet.
'So many idiots,' I mused inwardly, my gaze sweeping over their faces as I observed their conversations and interactions.
With the number of powerful people gathered, I decided to use my ability to lower our visibility.
It wasn't true invisibility; rather, I reduced our presence to such a degree that we faded into the background, escaping the notice of others.
'Now let's see what this meeting is about,' I chuckled to myself, excitement bubbling within me as I anticipated uncovering the reason behind this gathering.
