Chapter 499: Zol's Clan Secret Base
"I want to come with you!" Shao Mi's sudden outburst caught me off guard.
Her flushed face, tinged with red, appeared irresistibly cute and endearing. As embarrassment swept over her, her long eyelashes fluttered delicately, which made my heart skip a beat.
How can someone be this beautiful?
Even if I could use my power to reshape someone's face and create a perfect copy of her, it wouldn't capture even a fraction of her charisma.
She was undeniably unique in her own right.
"Why? You miss me already?" I teased, flashing a playful grin.
"I just don't feel comfortable allowing you to move around without surveillance," she responded, her face still bashful.
Her pride as a powerful woman was evident in her tone of voice. It was a habit she couldn't shake off easily.
"Are you sure you want to come?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Are you going somewhere dangerous ?"
I paused, pondering her question deeply.
To me, the term "dangerous" was relative.
After enduring countless trials, only phenomena capable of obliterating me on a molecular level could be considered dangerous.
Or maybe diving into the blazing heart of the sun would up the difficulty a bit, though still within reach for someone like me, if I prepared well enough.
"For me, nothing is really dangerous," I answered confidently.
"Then there's no issue, take me with you. I also want to learn more about magic!" She insisted earnestly.
"Why?"
She paused for a moment, her face filled with concern.
"I think I'm getting weaker. I don't know what they did to me, but I'm losing my powers," she replied with a sad tone.
For some reason, her sad face was really convincing. The way her subtle actions could impact almost anyone was a power in itself.
I intentionally didn't intervene in her current situation because it wasn't life-threatening .
Plus, the weaker she became, the better my chances were of saving her.
"Alright, I'll bring you with me," I agreed with her, considering that it would be more fun to roleplay with her around.
"Thank you," she replied with a warm smile.
I just nodded, maintaining my composure, then raised my staff , to cast a spell.
"Grand Tier Magic. Gate," I uttered.
Suddenly, silver dust began to emerge from the ground, grouping like nanomachines to form a small gate.
Its design was simple, a square frame large enough for two people, adorned with intricate magic patterns.
Initially, a black hole sat at its center, but as I set our destination, it transformed into a picture-like image showing a distant mountain looming large in the landscape.
"Let's go," I offered her my hand, and together we stepped through the gate.
Once we were through, the gate dissolved back into the ground..
"This place is...?" Shao Mi asked, her tone giving away her realization that she was no longer on Earth.
"This place is the Zol Clan Territory," I answered with a nonchalant voice.
"The Zol Clan? Is this where they've been hiding all along?" She asked, frustration evident in her expression.
The Zol Clan was the reason why all of this was happening, so she felt irritated after knowing that this was their hidden base.
"That's right. It's a secret place, almost like a small world of its own, inaccessible by normal means," I replied.
"Then how did we enter?" Enjoy new stories from empire
"Magic," I chuckled, deciding not to delve further into the topic.
I made a mental note to shift everything to magic when questioned.
There was no need to explain the science behind it, as even with her intelligence, it would take her years to barely understand 10% of how space works.
The only individuals I know who could possibly achieve this level of mastery over space were Shao Mi and Eun-ha, as their abilities relied on controlling reality and space.
However, even for them, it would demand dedicating 10-20 years of their lives to relentless study to attain the same proficiency.
"Can I learn magic too?" she asked, her tone hopeful.
"Of course, but you can't learn it on Earth. Your world has no mana," I shook my head, feeding her more lies.
"So if I wanted to learn magic, I need to go to your world?"
"No need for that. Our Magic Academy has mana, and it's also located in a small world.
Besides, if you were to directly go to my main world, the mana there would just make your body explode," I answered, using my acting ability to sound convincing.
In reality, there was no such thing as my main world; it was just a myth I constructed so my students wouldn't ask too many questions about why my world was so small.
She nodded in understanding, and I could tell that she was contemplating it.
I could not blame her; she used to be powerful, and she was stripped of most of her power. It was only natural that she wanted to grow stronger again.
"What do you plan? Do you plan to destroy the Zol Clan now?" she asked, her voice tinged with anticipation. She wanted to see them suffer for all their sins.
I shook my head," Not yet, for now let's pretend to be Zol Clan members first then get some information about the Portals ,"
She nodded in understanding, accepting the wisdom and logic of my words.
"So, close your eyes first," I ordered, then I pointed my staff at her.
Using my illusion ability, her features changed, and she became less attractive than before.
However, her charisma still was still overflowing, so I had to seal it by putting an invisible barrier around her body.
Next, I also changed my face, altering it to have black hair, black eyes, and aging my features to resemble a 60-year-old man.
"Let's go," my aged voice echoed, and she giggled, finding our current appearance amusing.
"Why are you laughing?" I asked .
"Nothing," she shook her head adorably ," I just felt like you always do things in funny ways," she giggled.
"Funny ways?" I raised my eye brows, as if I'm clueless of what she was talking about.
"Listen her , child. I lived for so long that I learned that the best way to live life is too do just what you want ," I chuckled .
"But that only works if you can literally do everything, like me," I added with a wink.
