Naruto’s Dump Station

Chapter 29 - The Canine Clan

Chapter 29: The Canine Clan

A silent oasis had begun to release wisps of white smoke.

“Hoo……….. Is this the Beast King Mountain?”

Ruofeng’s eyes narrowed slightly as he remained on guard. Although the so-called Canine Immortal had spread the word yesterday, instructing him to come today, who knew what dangers might await?

At this moment, Ruofeng’s newly awakened perception ability emanated outward. He had also linked his spiritual power to the dump station, ready to disappear into it the instant anything went wrong.

Moments passed, yet no danger emerged. Ruofeng took in the vast grassland before him, stretching endlessly like a primeval prairie. He raised his head to the sky, only to find blue skies, white clouds, and bright sunlight.

“What is this situation? It should be nighttime right now. How can it be daytime here?” Ruofeng muttered, perplexed.

Suddenly, a breeze swept through, carrying the scent of the grassland as it slowly flowed around him. The air was thick with life, a rich vitality saturating every blade of grass.

Such rich vitality… What kind of psychic beast clan is this? And the so-called Canine Immortals?

As the thought crossed his mind, the silent grassland began to tremble, and a creature slowly emerged.

Ruofeng’s gaze flickered with surprise. “It cannot be…” His eyes fixed on the massive Tibetan Mastiff before him, its sheer size reminding him of the ancient beast Wentai. “Could it be that the Beast King Mountain’s psychic beasts are the Canine Immortals?”

The Tibetan Mastiff before him let out a deep, resonant roar. “Woof…………..”

The force of the roar stirred the wind. Ruofeng’s hands moved instinctively, forming a seal in preparation.

Who knows if this will become dangerous? If anything goes wrong, I will leave immediately!

Before he could react further, an old voice echoed through the space. “Contractor… do not be afraid!”

The immense black shadow in front of him slowly dissipated, shrinking into an ordinary-sized Tibetan Mastiff. On its head stood a small white dog.

Sensing no immediate danger, Ruofeng examined the small white dog carefully. The creature stood on its hind legs, leaning on a tiny wooden crutch. Its white fur was dense and flowed downward like an elderly man’s beard.

Ruofeng remained silent for a moment before speaking. “You are the Canine Immortal?”

“Ahem…………..” The small dog coughed lightly a few times before responding in a faint voice. “Not bad… I am the Canine Immortal. After several decades, a new contractor has finally appeared.”

As the words fell, the Inu Immortal tapped its cane against the ground. In the next instant, Ruofeng found himself vanishing from the grassland, reappearing inside a brightly lit hall.

The Inu Immortal now sat in the center of the hall, his posture reminiscent of an aged elder. Beside him stood two large dogs—one resembling a ghost-faced Tibetan Mastiff from Earth, and the other similar to an Alaskan sled dog.

“Ahem……………..” The Inu Immortal coughed a few more times before speaking indifferently. “The new contractor… still of the Uchiha Zan. Success comes with the Uchiha, but so does failure. Ah, it is fortunate… I hope you are the hope of the Inuyasha clan!”

Ruofeng’s expression grew serious. “Success is also Uchiha, failure is also Uchiha… What exactly does that mean? , Grandpa mentioned that the psychic clan of Beast King Mountain had been wiped out by the Uchiha. How do you still exist?”

The Canine Immortal’s gaze turned somber as he let out a heavy sigh. “Cough cough………. It seems you know much. Uchiha Zebra failed to annihilate the Inuyasha clan, but the damage was devastating. All those capable of fighting were slaughtered. Only newborns remained—too young to fend for themselves. Uchiha wanted to finish the job, but with this palace’s existence, they could not. In the end, I exchanged a secret for the survival of my clan.”

Ruofeng pondered for a moment before responding. “A secret for survival… That must have been no small secret to make Uchiha Zan give up the massacre. In Immortal, you should be an Immortal, correct? Yet, even you were no match for Uchiha Zan?”

“Ahem………. Naturally. Cultivating natural chakra grants great power, but it is still insufficient against Uchiha Zebra. If it had been him alone, perhaps I could have managed… but he did not come alone. He brought the Nine Tails with him. That was why the Inuyasha clan was nearly wiped out. I had no choice but to reveal one of our clan’s treasured secrets to Uchiha Spot in exchange for survival.” The Inu Immortal’s eyes darkened as he spoke.

Ruofeng was taken aback. “So that is how it is… But from what you say, the Beast King Mountain has no battle power left at all.”

Disappointment flickered in his heart. The Canine Immortal before him claimed to be an Immortal and likely possessed a method to cultivate Immortal Mode. However, if the psychic clan had no warriors, the contract would be of little use. It was fortunate there were other races to contract—otherwise, Ruofeng would have suffered a great loss.

The Canine Immortal shook his head. “Not incorrect… The current Beast King Mountain lacks warriors. Even the Tibetan Mastiff you saw earlier was a manifestation altered by Immortal power. Alas………. In truth, their real forms are what you see before you now. But they have the growth potential. Once their wisdom awakens, they will rapidly mature, restoring the Beast King Mountain and reviving the honor of the Canine Clan!”

A rare hint of excitement filled the Canine Immortal’s voice.

Ruofeng, however, was skeptical. He glanced at the two large dogs in the hall—the Tibetan Mastiff and the Alaskan Sled Dog. They looked adorable but displayed no signs of intelligence. How could they compare to Kakashi’s original pack of wise hounds?

As if sensing Ruofeng’s doubt, the Canine Immortal let out a long sigh. “Alas………. I will tell you everything. If no one supports the Inuyasha clan, we will truly perish. Keeping our secrets will mean nothing then.”

Ruofeng’s eyes sharpened. “Secrets? It seems the Canine Clan has reached a point of desperation.”

The Canine Immortal nodded solemnly before continuing. “The Canine Clan originated from a single dog—my father. His name was Xiao Bai, once a beloved pet of Asura and Indra. However, he once saved Asura and suffered fatal wounds from a boar. He died… and his death was what led Indra to awaken his Sharingan.”
