Chapter 584: Chapter 584: Cloud Village Causes Trouble!
Reiki had been sitting silently since his last peculiar behavior. Neither speaking nor moving, he appeared to be deeply immersed in some form of spiritual practice.
If it weren't for the stability of Reiki's aura, Shisui would have reported the situation to Tsunade without hesitation.
"Ten days?!"
Bang!
Tsunade marched up to Reiki, raising her fist and landing a punch squarely on his head.
"Hiss… It hurts!"
Reiki clutched his head, his expression bewildered as he looked up at Tsunade.
Seeing her fist ready to strike again, Reiki instinctively jumped to his feet, keeping a safe distance from her.
"Teacher?!"
Reiki stared at Tsunade in confusion. What's going on?!
He hadn't done anything wrong… had he?
"What are you doing?" Tsunade asked sternly, lowering her fist.
"I'm refining chakra! Besides, I didn't even use shadow clones or interfere with anyone else's work during this time."
"Teacher, why did you hit me again?!" Reiki's voice was filled with grievance.
Usually, Tsunade only hit him when he rescued too many injured ninjas, leaving no one for the medical trainees to practice on. But this time, he hadn't done anything to warrant a scolding, let alone a punch.
"Go do something useful!" Tsunade snapped. "How long are you planning to sit here refining chakra? Forever?"
Initially, Tsunade intended to scold Reiki, but after hitting him, she realized he hadn't actually done anything wrong this time.
Still, she couldn't admit her mistake. Instead, she chose to change her reasoning—after all, he was sitting idle!
And so, Reiki, who had been forced into inactivity, found himself dragged back into the action.
This abrupt shift left him disoriented. The clarity he sought during his meditative training eluded him.
Meanwhile, the special training camp entered its second phase, centered on village-based resource plundering wars.
This wasn't just another training exercise—it also determined the allocation of resources among villages. In the Ninja Alliance, strength dictated resources. Performing well during the training guaranteed access to more medicines, tools, and other necessities.
"I still think this is inappropriate," Kazekage Rasa objected during a meeting of the village leaders.
"If the battlefield is used as the framework for competition, it could create unnecessary misunderstandings and conflicts between villages."
Among the five great villages, Sunagakure consistently ranked at the bottom in strength. They had barely scraped by with the initial resource allocation, but with the competition becoming more aggressive, Rasa wasn't confident Sunagakure could keep up.
"This is just laziness," the Third Raikage interjected bluntly. "The purpose of training is to build strength. If we continue to avoid true challenges, we'll lose real combat effectiveness."
"I agree," Onoki chimed in. "Training is pointless without practical applications. Using this method while ensuring personnel safety makes sense."
As the debate grew heated, Reiki interrupted. "Alright, enough!"
The room fell silent as all eyes turned toward Reiki.
"The point of this meeting isn't to argue over the feasibility of the training," he said. "It's time to deliver the promised resources."
Reiki's blunt reminder shattered the leaders' debates, replacing them with awkward expressions.
"Reiki, our village hasn't restocked yet," Chojuro said, trying to sound sincere.
"Got it. I'll note it down," Reiki replied. "Iwagakure doesn't have enough materials. Adjustments to their medicine supplies will follow."
He then turned to Rasa. "What about Sunagakure?"
"We've already delivered everything to Tsunade-sama," Yashamaru answered.
"Good. Sunagakure's contribution is noted." Reiki scribbled in his notebook and moved on.
"Mizukage-sama, what about Kirigakure?"
"Our supplies are en route and will arrive tonight," Yagura responded calmly.
"Great. Thank you, Mizukage-sama," Reiki said with a nod.
Finally, Reiki turned to the Third Raikage. "And Cloud Village? You didn't pay last month, so what about this month?"
The air grew tense as Reiki stood tall, emanating powerful chakra fluctuations.
The Third Raikage and Onoki exchanged uneasy glances. They could sense the strength behind Reiki's aura, and for a moment, neither dared to speak.
The brewing conflict hung heavy in the room. This simple meeting about resource distribution had taken a much sharper turn, with Reiki at the center of it all.
