Chapter 580: Chapter 580: The World Changes and the Rules Are Tested
Faced with the skeptical looks from the others, Reiki explained the events leading to the current situation.
"You mean he just showed up to fight you out of nowhere? No reason at all? And you've never even seen him before?" Chodori asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Could it be... you stole someone's wife?" Dark Night quipped, his tone teasing.
"I doubt it," Al interjected.
"Reiki doesn't seem like the type to have a spouse yet, let alone steal one."
"Okay, that guy's getting up again," Gu Jia interrupted, her sharp gaze locking onto Koizumi.
Despite enduring a bombardment from all four of them, Koizumi was still managing to rise to his feet.
"That's not normal. Anyone else would've been reduced to pieces by now," Chodori muttered, rubbing her knuckles with an almost excited grin.
"Despicable!" Koizumi spat, staggering to his feet.
"I didn't expect you to team up with psychic beasts from other Sage Lands to attack me. I'm disappointed. Clearly, we're not on the same path…"
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Before Koizumi could finish his sentence, the group surged forward and resumed their assault, pummeling him without hesitation.
When it came to battle, rules only existed for those without the power to enforce their will. And in this case, they had the advantage and no intention of letting it go to waste.
Reiki stood by silently, observing. His mind churned with unanswered questions.
Why had this strange figure targeted him? What was his purpose?
Three hours later.
"Nope, he's not staying down," Chodori remarked, shaking out her hands.
"This guy doesn't feel human—probably not even alive by the usual definition."
"Little Reiki, where did you provoke such a monster?" Gu Jia asked, crossing her arms.
"Maybe we should just seal him away?"
"Good idea," Reiki replied, nodding. He quickly retrieved a large number of sealing scrolls.
Koizumi lay immobile, unable to fight or even move. He could only glare as Reiki prepared the seals.
One by one, Reiki layered hundreds of seals over Koizumi's body.
"This time, you've won," Koizumi rasped as Reiki finished.
"But next time, it won't be so simple. Be ready—I'll return for you."
Before Reiki could ask why Koizumi had come after him, the strange figure began to dissolve.
Koizumi's body disintegrated into particles of natural energy, vanishing completely within moments.
"He escaped!" Chodori exclaimed, pointing at the empty space where Koizumi had been.
"Yeah, he got away," Reiki said, his tone heavy.
Despite the fight being over, Reiki's heart sank. He still didn't know who or what Koizumi was.
Enemy? Not likely.
Ally? Even less so.
Koizumi seemed driven by some mission to test him, devoid of personal emotions or malice.
"Test?" Reiki murmured, recalling Koizumi's earlier words.
Had Koizumi come to measure Reiki's potential for some larger purpose?
Was Reiki on the cusp of becoming something special, or was this tied to the evolution of his unique world?
"Reiki!"
A voice interrupted his thoughts.
"Thanks, everyone," Reiki said, releasing his summon spell.
Chodori and the others vanished in clouds of white mist, leaving Reiki alone.
He stepped forward, activating a spatial vortex and disappearing into it.
Reiki's World.
"This…" Reiki muttered, stunned as he arrived in his personal dimension.
The once barren desert had transformed. Rolling green hills, clear streams, vibrant flowers, and thriving wildlife filled the space.
"What's happening? Why has my world evolved so quickly?" Reiki asked aloud.
Mochizuki appeared nearby, beaming with excitement.
"Don't you know, Reiki? I thought you were the one who sent that surge of energy!"
"Energy?" Reiki asked, confused.
Mochizuki nodded.
"The world is evolving into a Sage Land. Soon, it will even generate its own natural energy."
"Evolving… could it be…?" Reiki's mind raced, piecing together the clues.
Koizumi's appearance, his insistence on testing Reiki—it all pointed to one possibility. Koizumi was an avatar or embodiment of natural energy's rules, testing whether Reiki's world was worthy of evolution.
If Reiki passed, his world would advance. If he failed…
Reiki didn't know the consequences, but he suspected they wouldn't have been favorable.
It was likely Koizumi never expected a Lord of a Sage Land to summon psychic beasts from other Sage Lands to aid in the fight.
"Lord Buxie," Reiki called out respectfully, addressing the massive Chakra Sacred Tree in the distance.
The enormous tree stirred, its colossal form rising from the earth.
"Yes, Lord Reiki?" Buxie rumbled, its voice steady and ancient.
"How's the integration process?" Reiki asked.
"More than halfway complete," Buxie replied.
"If the world evolves further, our contract will finalize. But… the connection between you and external time-space will weaken, and the magic within your body will also transform."
"I see," Reiki replied, nodding thoughtfully.
"Rest well, Buxie. Mochizuki, monitor the world closely. Notify me of any changes," Reiki instructed.
After giving his orders, Reiki vanished.
As he left, Buxie lowered its massive body back to the ground.
"Lord Reiki is powerful," Buxie said to Mochizuki.
"He might not even fully understand the extent of his abilities."
Mochizuki perched on Buxie's branches, observing the energy shifts in the evolving world.
"We're following someone truly extraordinary," Mochizuki murmured, sensing the immense potential surrounding Reiki.
