Naruto: You Call This A Medical Ninja?

Chapter 574: Chapter 574: What Happened to the Uzumaki Clan?

Faced with the teasing from everyone during the debrief, Reiki responded with a sheepish smile, his humility masking the quiet confidence of his immense power. As the post-battle analysis concluded, the coalition members dispersed, each returning to their respective tasks or beginning their well-earned month-long break.

However, for some, rest was merely a change of focus. Among them were the relentless trainers like Might Guy and his father, Might Dai, who spent every waking moment honing their physical abilities.

A Meeting with Minato and Kushina

At the Konoha station in the special training camp, Reiki was summoned to the Hokage's temporary office. Upon arrival, he was surprised to find Uzumaki Kushina and another familiar face—Uzumaki Gate, the young man Reiki had previously encountered in a small village.

Alongside Uzumaki Gate were three red-haired teenagers, clearly members of the Uzumaki clan. Their disheveled appearances spoke of hardships endured during their time as wanderers.

"Reiki, Medical Ninja, thank you!" Uzumaki Gate exclaimed as he knelt, pressing his head to the floor in a display of deep gratitude.

"Hey, hey, get up!" Reiki teleported to his side and helped him stand. While Gate had been a bit stubborn in their earlier encounters, Reiki felt his sincerity now. They were, after all, members of Kushina's tribe.

Reiki turned to Kushina with a questioning look. "Sister Kushina, what's going on?"

Kushina explained, her tone soft but resolute. "Gate sought me out to reunite with his clan. These three—Uzumaki Kuichi, Uzumaki Shangping, and Uzumaki Wind Chime—were also found by him. I have a favor to ask of you, Reiki."

Reiki raised an eyebrow. "A favor? Regarding the Uzumaki clan?"

A Vision for the Uzumaki Clan

Kushina took a deep breath before continuing. "We want to rebuild the Uzumaki clan and, eventually, the Land of Whirlpools."

Reiki glanced at Minato, who offered a sheepish smile but said nothing, silently acknowledging his wife's authority on the matter. It was clear Minato fully supported her plan—or at least dared not oppose it.

Kushina's passion was palpable. Decades after the Uzumaki clan's tragic downfall, the dream of restoring their homeland still burned bright in her heart. Yet, she knew the obstacles were immense, and for this reason, she sought Reiki's help.

"Reiki," Kushina continued, her voice trembling with emotion. "Can you help us? I know it's a lot to ask, but—"

Reiki interrupted with a reassuring smile. "Kushina-nee, I understand. I'll do my best. If peaceful negotiations don't work, I'll resort to other means to support your cause."

Kushina's eyes glistened with tears as she hugged Reiki tightly. "Thank you, Reiki. Thank you so much."

Though taller than Kushina now, Reiki felt oddly embarrassed by the embrace, especially under Minato's watchful gaze. However, Minato seemed more amused than upset, perhaps grateful for Reiki's tactful handling of the situation.

Preparations Begin

After the emotional exchange, Reiki quickly assessed the physical condition of the Uzumaki clan members. Years of hardship had taken their toll, but their underlying vitality remained strong. He handed Kushina a batch of medicinal potions.

"These will help them recover and prepare for training," Reiki explained. "In time, they'll regain the strength their clan was once known for."

As he prepared to leave, Reiki promised, "I'll come back with a concrete plan soon. Until then, take care of them."

With that, Reiki vanished, leaving Kushina and her clan to begin their preparations. Minato, watching his wife interact with the young Uzumaki, felt a pang of pride—and relief that Reiki had tactfully deflected attention from the sensitive political implications of their plan.

A Surprise Encounter

Returning to his room, Reiki immediately sensed something amiss. "You can come out now. Your aura isn't hidden well at all."

From the shadows, two familiar figures emerged—Shizune and Kurenai Yuhi.

Shizune pouted as she descended from the wall. "How did you know we were here? I thought we were hidden!"

"Yeah, I couldn't even sense your chakra earlier," Kurenai added, crossing her arms in mock annoyance.

Reiki smiled wryly at their attempts at stealth. "Your invisibility technique isn't bad, but your presence isn't as subtle as you think. Now, what do you two want?"

Before he could finish, Kurenai interrupted, her tone insistent. "You promised to take us back to the village!"

Reiki sighed. He had hoped to deal with the Uzumaki matter first, but seeing their determined faces, he knew there was no arguing with them. Sometimes, even the strongest ninja had to yield to the persistence of his friends.
