Chapter 97: Chapter 97: The Ōtsutsuki
Chapter 97: The Ōtsutsuki
As the meteor neared the ground, the immense wind pressure uprooted massive trees, sent boulders tumbling, and shook the earth violently.
BOOM!!!!
The massive celestial rock crashed into the ground with an earth-shattering roar, sending tremors across the land.
Dust clouds erupted into the air as the impact left a colossal crater, molten rock pooling at its center.
---
When the smoke cleared, a towering black-and-red half-formed humanoid figure stood in the crater.
Inside his Susano'o, Uchiha Kagami gazed skyward.
In the heavens above, countless smaller meteors rained down like burning arrows, their luminous trails painting the sky.
Though they were smaller than the first, their sheer number was overwhelming.
They didn't even bother with a greeting—just straight to a kill shot.
---
On the Moon.
Inside the celestial palace of the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
Ōtsutsuki Toneri stood before an enormous golden eye.
The Tenseigan, the ultimate eye of the Ōtsutsuki's Hamura lineage, rivaled the Rinnegan of Hagoromo's line. It represented the pinnacle of Byakugan evolution.
The Tenseigan was a fusion of the Byakugan from the descendants of Hamura, wielding immense power. Not only could it manipulate meteors, but when pushed to its limits, it could even move the Moon itself!
Nearby stood a young boy with empty, featureless eyes.
"Father, what are you doing?"
Ōtsutsuki Toneri fixed his gaze on the shinobi world below, drawing meteors toward the planet's surface through the Tenseigan's might.
"The world Hagoromo created has failed," he said coldly.
"For a thousand years, it has known nothing but unending war. And now, it has become a land of demons."
His expression darkened.
"Worse still, one of Hagoromo's descendants is absorbing malevolent forces. If left unchecked…"
Toneri turned to the boy, his voice solemn.
"He will become the being our ancestors recorded—the God of Ultimate Evil."
Toneri knelt and gently touched the boy's cheek.
"Shin'en, there is still one branch of the Byakugan on Earth. With your pure Ōtsutsuki bloodline, if you combine with their untainted Byakugan, you can awaken your own Tenseigan."
He stood, his voice firm.
"I have little time left. The meteors alone cannot kill that monster. I will descend and use a portion of the Tenseigan's power to ensure our mutual destruction."
"Afterward…"
For the first time, Toneri's expression softened.
"You must reshape this world as our ancestors intended. You will be the progenitor of the ideal world."
---
Facing the relentless meteor shower, the black-and-red Susano'o gripped its blade tightly.
Slash—!
A colossal crescent-shaped arc of black and crimson energy tore through the air, obliterating the incoming meteors.
**BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!**
Explosions echoed across the heavens, their force scattering thick clouds of ash and filling the sky with black lightning.
Moments later, the lightning subsided, leaving behind a storm of ash and embers, as though the very world had burned to cinders.
Standing atop his Susano'o, Kagami's crimson eyes locked onto a dark void opening in the sky.
---
From the void emerged a lone figure.
Clad in ancient robes adorned with patterns of tomoe, his alabaster skin gleamed faintly under the dimming light. His long blue-white hair flowed like silk, and his yellow-tinted Byakugan glowed with an otherworldly brilliance.
Ōtsutsuki Toneri had crossed the void between the Moon and Earth, arriving on its soil.
---
**Click.**
Beneath Kagami's curls, his right eye emitted an audible crack.
---
Toneri activated the veins around his Byakugan, his vision revealing Kagami as a dense mass of pure evil.
"So, Hagoromo's descendants have fallen this far…"
He wasted no time on words. Raising his hand, Toneri unleashed a brilliant yellow chakra beam.
The beam surged forward, ionizing the air in its path and leaving a distorted trail in its wake. Its radiant glow was blinding, as though it could burn away one's very soul.
Kagami's lips curved into a smile. His left Mangekyō Sharingan spun, its four-pointed design shimmering.
**Swish!**
A black-and-crimson energy slash cleaved through the air, colliding with the golden beam.
**BOOM!!!!**
The collision created a blinding explosion, releasing shockwaves that tore through the surroundings like a hurricane.
A massive light orb formed from the impact, glowing like a miniature sun rising on Earth.
But before the light dissipated, another golden beam pierced through the explosion's perimeter, curving unnaturally as it aimed for Kagami.
---
He had already dismissed his Susano'o.
Though it was well-suited for large-scale battles or massive enemies, Kagami realized from the earlier clash that his Susano'o couldn't withstand such an attack.
"This must be the Tenseigan's power…"
From his memories, Kagami knew the Tenseigan was on par with the Rinnegan. While it lacked the Rinnegan's versatility, it more than made up for it with raw destructive power.
Its most extreme display of strength? Ōtsutsuki Toneri's *Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion,* which had split the Moon in half with a single strike.
"If splitting the Moon can free Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, maybe I should pass that tip to Black Zetsu. Stop wasting time messing with the Uchiha."
**BANG!**
A gray-white stone tablet appeared before him. The golden beam, capable of piercing steel walls with ease, scattered harmlessly against its surface like water droplets.
"Is that…"
Toneri frowned, sensing an uncanny familiarity. The tablet exuded an aura reminiscent of the ancestral statues of Hamura.
Before he could process it, a shadow engulfed him.
The stone tablet, now cloaked in an ominous blue-purple chakra, plummeted toward him.
Toneri raised his hand, a faint sneer on his lips.
A yellow orb of chakra formed in his palm, aimed at the descending slab.
Ōtsutsuki prided themselves on their superiority, wielding powers far beyond mere shinobi techniques.
Yet, the moment his chakra orb met the stone, Toneri froze in disbelief.
Instead of neutralizing it, the stone shattered his chakra orb upon impact!
The pressure compressed the air, creating a deafening boom as the slab struck him.
**CRASH!**
Toneri was sent hurtling into a nearby mountain, the force obliterating it into a cascade of debris.
---
Kagami clapped his hands, dozens of energy slashes materializing mid-air, converging on the collapsing mountain.
The once-solid rock crumbled like tofu, disintegrating into a massive wave of dust and rubble.
Leaping atop the debris, Kagami wielded twin blades, closing in on the remnants of his opponent.
"Still alive, huh…"
His leap was abruptly halted.
---
Without warning.
**Swish—**
A black chakra rod pierced through Kagami's heart.
A man in a white robe, his skin marked with black patterns, appeared before him. A long braid trailed from the back of his head.
Gripping the rod, his voice was icy.
"You've been looking for me, haven't you, Uchiha Kagami?"
"So have I…"
"For a millennium…"
"For the perfect vessel."
Jigen's cold sneer widened, meeting Kagami's gaze.
But what greeted him wasn't despair.
It was a pair of spinning Mangekyō Sharingan, their sinister power igniting the air.
Kagami's bloodied lips curled into a smirk.
"Ah… so you've found me…"
