Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Uchiha Clan
Chapter 3: Uchiha Clan
I tried to sort through my body's memories to understand more...
So, it's currently the era of the Third Hokage, and the Uchiha are already being ostracized. Well, the Uchiha are the police of Konoha—what police force isn't hated? Even on Earth... honestly, I don't like them myself.
Oh... I'm also the grandson of one of the Uchiha elders. Uchiha Setsuna is my grandfather, and fortunately, he's still alive. At least I have some backing.
"Knock... knock... knock..."
I heard a knock at the door. Who is it so early in the morning?
I opened the door and saw a girl my age—Uchiha Inami, my childhood friend. Well, should I call her this body's friend?
"Hello, Inami-chan! What's up?"
"Ale-kun, you have to train with the other clan kids! Why didn't you come to the training grounds today?!"
Oh, I just remembered that clan members aged 5 to 7 are required to train at the clan's training grounds... Well, preparing for the ninja academy days, I guess.
"Inami-chan, it's still morning! Isn't training in the afternoon?"
"No! You have to get ready now! We're going to play with the others before training starts!"
"Okay, okay, cute Inami, I'll get ready. Wait a minute."
Ugh, damn it. I don't even know how to punch properly, and now I'm being told to train!
What a joke!
---
I walked to the training grounds with Inami while having a casual chat, slipping in some light flirting. Well, Inami does look cute at this age... Wait...
---Knock, knock, knock! FBI, FBI, open up!
Hearing that sound, I glanced around, realizing it was just that damn NeuroLink playing the meme!
Damn NeuroLink can even play that meme!
Well, whatever. My body is the same age as hers, and unless I can snag Tsunade, I'd rather stick with Inami-chan.
So, what Inami called "playing with the others" turned out to just be the two of us strolling around the village and buying dango for 200 ryo.
I didn't mind walking around a bit; I wanted to try Ichiraku Ramen too! Unfortunately, Ichiraku wasn't open yet. I wasn't even sure if Teuchi had been born yet!
As we wandered the village, I noticed a commotion—people gathered around to watch a dispute. Naturally, as a transmigrator, I got curious and went to check it out. I saw a policeman arresting a villager, but the guy being arrested was making a fuss.
"Let me go! I just refused to pay for overpriced food! No way am I paying for bad ramen that costs 1,500 ryo!"
"Scoundrel, don't cause a scene. Besides, why didn't you ask the price first? We Uchiha police are just enforcing THE LAW!"
"Uchiha this, Uchiha that, blah blah! Damn it! You're only arresting me because of a small argument. Are you getting paid off by that shady vendor?"
What a joke. This idiot accused the Uchiha of being bribed? The wealthiest clan in Konoha being paid off by a civilian? Seriously?
"Damn you! Foolish man, I didn't pay the police and have no idea why they arrived so quickly. Maybe they just like chaos! Ahahahaha!"
See this? The vendor's punchline just threw the two Uchiha police officers into a pit!
After the vendor's nonsense, the crowd watching began whispering among themselves.
Random Person A: "Yesterday, the Uchiha police even caused a scene just because two kids got into a fight near my aunt's shop! Her shop got crowded and chaotic! Fine, if the onlookers were buying something, but they only broke a bunch of furniture!"
Random Person B: "Damn, wasn't that near the Uchiha district? I was there! The kids were just playing and got into a little argument, but the police came to separate them in the dumbest way—by arresting them!"
The situation was getting worse. I saw the two Uchiha officers standing there, clueless about what to do. They wanted to defend themselves but hesitated, knowing it would only convince the crowd further.
What should they do in this kind of situation?
---The easiest way is to show the villagers the laws of Konoha themselves. It's obvious that most of them don't even know what the rules are! If more people understood, it would reduce their distrust of the Uchiha police being "paid off" and other nonsense.
Tap... tap... tap...
I walked calmly toward the two Uchiha officers. Everything felt quieter because the two officers lowered their heads upon seeing me. Well, what can I say? I'm the elder's grandson! Hahaha.
