Naruto: Maelstrom Of The Uzumaki

Chapter 125: Chapter 208: Mist Ninja's Conspiracy!

"Where am I?"

Rin slowly opened her eyes. She glanced around and softly asked, her voice startling Kakashi and Obito. Their surprise quickly turned into intense joy.

Kakashi landed on the ground, stopping their movement, and Obito gently set Rin down. With a warm voice, he exclaimed, "Rin, you're awake? That's great!"

"Rin, we're in the Land of Whirlpools, heading toward the camp. I'm so glad you woke up!" Kakashi added, his eyes full of relief.

As her consciousness returned, Rin recognized the familiar figures before her. Memories came flooding back, and her expression turned frightened. Suddenly, she slapped Obito's shoulder and began struggling.

"What's wrong, Rin?" Obito asked, thinking she was embarrassed about being carried. He quickly released her, stepping back with a confused expression.

But Rin wasn't focused on that. She stumbled as she landed on the ground, turned her back to them, and pulled open the front of her shirt.

There, across her chest and abdomen, was a sprawling, intricate black curse seal. The ominous markings extended from her heart to her lower abdomen, dense and complex.

"No... it's true! They sealed a Tailed Beast inside me!"

"It's not a dream! It's not a dream!"

Rin stared at the seal in shock, her voice trembling. Tears streamed down her face as she sank to her knees, overcome with despair.

"Rin? Rin!" Obito called out anxiously, rushing to her side. Kakashi joined him, trying to assess her condition. However, as he wasn't a medical ninja, he couldn't determine much.

"Let's take Rin somewhere to rest," Kakashi suggested. "She hasn't fully recovered. She'll feel better after eating something."

They quickly carried Rin to the edge of a stream and settled her down. Aware they might still be pursued, Kakashi avoided building a shelter or lighting a fire. Instead, they relied on the cover of nearby trees.

Before long, Rin slowly woke again. Seeing Kakashi and Obito beside her, she sat up, her expression grim. Her first words left Obito frozen in shock.

"Kakashi, kill me."

Rin's voice was heavy with despair as she looked at Kakashi.

"What?! What are you saying?!" Obito shouted, grabbing Rin by the shoulders, his disbelief evident.

Rin glanced at Obito briefly before fixing her gaze on Kakashi.

"Kakashi, Obito, I can't return to the village or the camp."

"The Mist Ninja sealed the Three-Tails inside me. If I go back, they'll break the seal and unleash the Tailed Beast on our people in Konoha."

"I won't endanger my comrades or my family!"

Rin's voice trembled as she revealed the truth. When she had been captured, the Mist Ninja discovered her Chakra could suppress a Tailed Beast's power. They made her a temporary Jinchūriki as part of a plan to destroy Konoha.

What the Mist Ninja didn't know was that Rin, as a medical ninja, possessed a strong resistance to toxins. In her semi-conscious state, she overheard their plans and realized the nightmare was real when she saw the curse seal on her body.

Her tears weren't just for becoming a Jinchūriki—they were for the lives of the Konoha ninja who had died trying to save her.

"What?! The Three-Tails?!" Kakashi gasped. He quickly moved closer, examining the curse seal Rin exposed on her abdomen.

"It's a sealing technique… a highly advanced one. This is—"

"It's my heart," Rin interrupted in a quiet voice. Her words left Kakashi and Obito speechless.

"Rin..." Obito's voice faltered as he stared at her, his face ashen. Suddenly, he stood, his voice rising with urgency. "Even so, you don't have to die! If we return to the village, Minato-sensei can find a solution!"

Obito turned to Kakashi. "Let's head back to the village now—we don't need to go to the camp!"

"Don't be naive, Obito," Kakashi said coldly, cutting him off. "Even for Minato-sensei, undoing such a complex seal would take time."

"And before that happens, the Mist Ninja will release the Tailed Beast."

"Do you want Konoha to be destroyed?"

Obito's face contorted with anger. He stormed up to Kakashi, grabbing him by the collar.

"Do you even hear yourself?! Rin is our comrade! She's the person I cherish most—I won't let you hurt her!" Obito shouted, standing protectively in front of Rin.

"Let's rest for now," Kakashi said after a long pause, turning his back to them. "We'll head toward the village and try to contact Minato-sensei. If there's a solution, we won't have to consider the worst-case scenario."

"Whoosh!"

A kunai suddenly shot out from the forest, aimed at Kakashi. Rustling sounds followed, signaling an enemy's approach.

"Enemy attack!" Kakashi shouted, dodging the kunai with ease and drawing his weapon.

"Obito, get Rin out of here—quickly!"

Obito immediately grabbed Rin, holding her close as he began to run. Meanwhile, Kakashi prepared to confront the enemy.

AN: I truly despise Obito's character. An obsessive child that later turned into an obsessive man-child with a crush on a dead 12 year old that never even acknowledged his feelings and only treated him nicely out of kindness. Nagato was the best written villain in my opinion. Madara was second best only because his struggles and story weren't as deeply explored, as the anime focused more on his "bromance" with Hashirama and their eventual breakup.
