Onochi POV

After me and Amara talked last night, she quickly informed her father that she wanted to train with me in the Dokukuro clan. And understandably, the Daimyo wasn't pleased.

The entire court was in an uproar. Not because the princess is being sent outside of the castle, but the fact that she would be training in ninjutsu. No one in the Daimyo lineage is a fighter, not even his three sons.

It took 3 hours for Amara to convince the Daiymiyo to let her train beside me. Although he agreed, there was a small condition. Amara will be accompanied by Hyo and 100 guards. Hyo cannot leave the side of Amara, and he will personally look after her. If I were to teach her something that does not benefit her, she would be taken back.

We waited for the Dokukuro clan to arrive, and it took a little over 3 hours. My father did not hold back, as all the ninjas were elites. There were 20 elite ninjas in the convoy and one of them was the guard that read my notebook.

As they arrived to escort us, I approached the man and asked, "What's your name?"

Seeing me walk up to him, the man was startled but quickly answered my question, "I am Yari, sir."

Yari was around 16-18. He had a well-built body alongside his brown hair and sharp jaws. He had blue eyes and a tanned skin tone.

"So Yari… You were the one that read my book huh?" I asked jokingly

Yari began to sweat and bowed, "I'm sorry! I was just curious!"

I chucked as I got onto the carriage, "Don't worry, I was just messing with you."

He sighed a breath of relief as he heard me. My mother who was already inside the carriage saw the interaction and smiled at me. She then began speaking, "That kid, you should get to know him more."

I raised an eyebrow, amused, "Why is that?"

"He's the son of one the elders, and he's one of the brightest in the younger generation. What's more, he wields a Kekkei Genkai."

I looked outside the window where I saw Yari talking to other guards. I was intrigued as he was the very first person I'd seen in this world who had a Kekkei Genkai.

As I was looking at Yari, I saw something odd in the distance, near the entrance of the castle. There was a massive bag, being carried by a little fat kid. The kid had her servants carry another 2 bags that were filled with ingredients, spices, and food.

Veins popped out my forehead as I saw her red puffed-up cheeks that were tired from walking, "That damn kid! I'm gonna beat that fat out of you!"

My mom chuckled as she also looked at where I was looking, "I guess she doesn't want to go hungry."

There were only three carriages used, two of them carried the luggage while me, mother, and Amara used the first carriage.

As we traveled, we saw many small villages and stopped there to rest. Looking around the small village that we were in, pity was all I could feel. There was sand everywhere in the village, meaning there were no crops. The villagers relied purely on the Daimyo's support.

Everyone was thin, from young to old, woman or man, hunger did not discriminate.

As we were about to eat, we saw two children staring at us. It was two boys no older than 4-5. They had no shirt, the only thing they wore were pants. Their hair was greasy, seemingly never been washed. And their ribs were showing as if they had no fat.

Amara was about to take a bite of her food when she noticed the two kids. She looked at her food and looked back at the kid. She frowned and stood up and walked to one of the guards, "How many people live in this village?"

The guard quickly answered, "About 30."

She pointed at one of the bags and said, "That should be enough to feed 50 people. Go feed them and take 10-20 men and escort them to the capital. Tell Father to give them a living space."

The bag that she brought was huge. It was at least 2 meters tall.

As she ordered the guard, a man with glasses walked up to them. The man was a monitor for Amara. He was there to monitor Amara alongside Hyo, but unlike Hyo, he was there to monitor her mannerisms and nobility.

"Princess Amara… If I may" The man said.

"What is it?" Asked Amara with annoyance.

"Providing housing, clothing, and feeding these people would be troublesome. Our Net Income isn't-"

Before he could finish, he was quickly cut off by Amara, "Shut the hell up! We spend millions of ryos just to look fancy in front of people who don't even like us! And now you're telling me we can't feed our very own people?! Don't we already send money to these villages?! Or are they truly receiving money?!"

Her cries were heard throughout the village. All the guards looked at her with amusement, while her servants with awe. Most nobility would only think about themselves, especially the nobility in the land of Wind, because of the lack of supplies.

Hearing her words, the man stiffened. Seeing how the man reacted, Amara raised her eyebrow in suspicion.

He ordered the guard that she was talking to earlier, "Bring me the chief of this village!"

"Yes ma'am."

The man disappeared and appeared a few minutes later with a sweating old man. The man was around 80 years old, barely holding onto his life.

"How may I help you, young miss?" Asked the old man.

Amara frowned which caused the man to lower his head in fear.

"Tell me, does the Daimyo give you any money?" Asked Amara

Scared, the man quickly nodded and said, "Yes yes yes! Lord Daimyo is generous and donates to us bimonthly."

"What?!" yelled Amara

She continued, "Every village is supposed to be getting ryos every month! And seeing that it's a small village, you should be getting around 50 thousand ryos!"

The man's eyes became wide, "50?"

Amara raised her eyebrows and confirmed, "Yes, 50 thousand… Don't tell me…"

With a shaky voice, the man spoke, "We only get 5 thousand bimonthly…"

Amara turned red, and anger boiled inside her.

She turned around and looked at the guards, "Those who work for the Diamiyo, come here!"

In the blink of an eye, 100 shinobis kneeled down in front of her.

She continued her order, "Send out 40 men back to the Diamiyo. Inform him of what is going on. The other 20 is to take care of these villagers. Take two of my bags and feed them throughout the entire journey! Is that understood?!"

'Damn, she's like a sergeant… A kid giving out orders like she runs the place…' I thought to myself.

Hyo walked up to Amara and said, "Are you sure? We will be down 40 men and the journey ahead could be dangerous."

Amara glared at Hyo and said, "You are one of the most powerful shinobi in the Land of Wind. We will still have a 60-strong shinobi alongside the Dokukuro clan elites."

"It would seem I misspoke, lady Amara."

Amara seemed like a demon whenever she was serious. Her commanding presence never wavered when she was determined.

After feeding the villagers and informing them of what was to come, they were delighted. They began thanking Amara and the ninjas, some even offering their lives.

After she was done giving out orders, she came inside the carriage and slumped down the soft seat beside my mom.

Looking at her still frowning face, I giggled and jokingly said, "You did a good job fatty."

"You! Ugh! I don't even have the energy to argue!"

I laughed and finally asked, "Anyway, what was that all about?"

She stared at me and sighed, "Corruption. The Land of Wind has been suffering from corruption for a while now. Since there were few resources in the Land of Wind, many merchants and nobles would commit embezzlement. Corruption is also the main reason why many clans don't suffer consequences because they would just pay nobilities off."

I sighed and questioned, "Yeah, but to run this deep?"

She scoffed, "This isn't even the tip of it. I have been learning politics since birth. I've seen how those dirty pigs work."

"That's what you get for being poor I guess," I chuckled dryly

She also chuckled with no humor in her tone. But then suddenly, she sat up straight and asked me,

"How do you get rich?"
