Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Clash with the Heavenly Yaksha
"Alright, got it."
In the stands of the Corrida Colosseum, Shin put down the den-den mushi and sighed deeply.
"I'm not actively seeking trouble, yet Doflamingo thinks I'm an easy target?"
Considering Doflamingo's actions, Shin thought back. If Ace and Yamato had known the whole truth back in the Spade Pirates, they would have confronted Doflamingo and freed Dressrosa from his grip without hesitation.
For Shin, however, it wasn't so black and white. There are plenty of corrupt rulers across the seas. Doflamingo is far from the worst among them. While Dressrosa's facade is bright with hidden shadows, it's not as depraved as the Drum Kingdom, Wano, or White Town, which are shrouded in darkness from the core outward.
But there's an old saying: those who wish to spare the tiger often fall prey to it. Even though Shin was inclined to leave Doflamingo alone, Doflamingo wasn't about to do the same, choosing instead to stir up trouble for Shin.
In any case, it wasn't entirely bad for Shin, who was intrigued by some of the Devil Fruits possessed by Doflamingo's 'family'.
As for his presence at the arena? The two masked fighters currently on stage were none other than Ulti and Page One.
Though the siblings refrained from using their flashy fruit abilities, they still dominated their opponents, swiftly dispatching one gladiator after another. The final match would soon pit them against each other.
Shin was curious to see how these two, with their antagonistic dynamic, would fare in a direct confrontation. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to stay for the conclusion.
Leaving the arena, Shin glanced around, searching for a quieter place, intending to avoid alarming civilians when the inevitable clash with Doflamingo happened.
Though he didn't expect the fight to be particularly violent, he was mindful of minimizing accidental casualties.
On the outskirts of Dressrosa, a flower field sprawled. In this vibrant city, it was a relatively secluded spot. Shin strolled in that direction.
At the same time, he felt a few distinct life forces emanating strongly, which seemed to track him from a distance.
Several animated toys, seemingly acting as spies, occasionally cast curious glances his way, trailing him playfully.
Though bustling, Dressrosa wasn't a vast country—it was a classic island nation with a single city-state.
Within ten minutes, Shin had reached the flower field. Apart from a few couples and the occasional tourist, he was practically alone.
This isolation made it impossible for those trailing him to escape his keen senses, even if they kept a respectful distance.
"Doflamingo, King of Dressrosa—why are you lurking in the shadows when you could approach me directly?"
Shin looked up to spot a pink figure hovering above him in the sky.
The figure quickly descended, landing before him: none other than Heavenly Yaksha, Doflamingo.
"Fufufufufufufu!" Doflamingo laughed, studying Shin intently. "So, this is the famed super rookie of the Whitebeard Pirates. I simply had to make your acquaintance."
Though his words sounded polite, a chill flashed in Doflamingo's eyes beneath his sunglasses.
For Doflamingo, it was all or nothing. Once he decided to assist the Beasts Pirates in capturing Shin, he was fully committed, leaving no room for hesitation.
Without missing a beat, he discreetly released an invisible thread that snaked its way toward Shin, wrapping around him.
Shin appeared oblivious. "So, now that you've met me, do you have a plan in mind?"
Doflamingo grinned menacingly. "I certainly do. It's only proper to leave a lasting impression on our first encounter."
"You think being part of the Whitebeard Pirates means no one dares to challenge you? Such a lack of vigilance. It's almost comical to think of you as a New World pirate."
"In your next life, you'd do well to be more cautious!"
With that, Doflamingo yanked the thread hard, intending to trap Shin fully.
Yank as he might, with veins bulging from the effort, Doflamingo found himself unable to move Shin an inch!
Shin smirked. "Is that all you've got? Feels pretty weak."
"Damn it..." Doflamingo gritted his teeth, channeling armament haki. His previously transparent thread turned black, shimmering faintly in the light.
The reinforced thread finally caused Shin to feel a minor sting, and with an effortless pull, Shin sent Doflamingo lurching forward.
"Not good!" Doflamingo's expression shifted as he used his string-string ability to sever the thread and extend a new one from his foot, anchoring it to the ground and preventing himself from being dragged.
"Quick reflexes," Shin acknowledged with a nod, but his tone held little interest.
Doflamingo, rattled by Shin's calm demeanor, suddenly felt like a court jester. Unnerved by Shin's strength, he swallowed his anger.
Shin's power evoked memories of Kaido's overwhelming might, leaving Doflamingo increasingly uneasy.
'Could Queen have deceived us? Was his claim that we alone could handle this merely a setup?'
But there was no turning back now. Doflamingo had already committed to this confrontation, and he had enlisted his most formidable allies from the Donquixote family.
Suddenly, the ground trembled as an immense crack opened beneath Shin's feet, revealing a colossal stone face. Without warning, the massive maw swallowed him whole.
"Pica! Bury him at the island's core!" Doflamingo commanded sharply. The original plan had been to trap Shin without using such extreme measures.
However, after exchanging a few blows, Doflamingo understood that Shin was no ordinary foe. He mentally cursed Queen, then steeled himself to give it everything he had.
'Better to risk overdoing it and eliminate him rather than leave myself vulnerable to his retaliation.'
Little did Doflamingo know that no amount of force they could muster would suffice against Shin's true strength.
Following Doflamingo's orders, Pica activated his stone fruit powers, moving Shin as deeply underground as possible, far beyond the flower field's surface.
Shin initially offered no resistance, merely observing as Pica exerted his full strength. Once he sensed Pica had exhausted himself, Shin stretched slightly, preparing to act.
Though buried deep within the earth, Shin's voice carried through. "This is as far as you can go? Alright then—now it's my turn!"
