Chapter 50: My Wives Of Simulation [50]
Chapter 50. Glory Vs Eternal , Whose Husband Is The Best?
________
Mellie: "Emperor of Eternal Night? I seem to have heard of him."
Although Britain had become an independent parallel world due to Elric's influence, its timeline in the 5th century AD was approximately 350 years after the Roman Empire's peak in the early AD period. Mellie, however, wasn't very proficient in history, so her recollections of Rome were vague.
Tyrant Nero: "Then you should go and study the history of Rome! Player is the greatest emperor!"
Nero's admiration for Elric shone brightly through the screen as she lavished praise on him. To her, Elric was not just an emperor but also a figure akin to a beloved companion.
Mellie: "No, my husband, the King of Glory, is the greatest!"
Mellie, equally convinced of her husband's unparalleled greatness, retorted indignantly.
Tyrant Nero: "Hah? I've never even heard of your King of Glory—are you certain?"
In the Roman Empire, Nero's delicate features were briefly marked by irritation. While she could tolerate criticism of herself, disparaging her player was another matter entirely.
Fairy in the Lake: "It's pointless to argue about who is stronger between two kings of different eras. I don't think there's any need to compare them. A master must be powerful regardless."
Using neutral and fair words, Vivian attempted to pacify Nero. Yet, her subsequent remark—declaring the King of Glory superior—was a thinly veiled jab, showcasing that she wasn't easily swayed.
Tyrant Nero: "Hah? Your king, whose name isn't even known, dares claim to be the most powerful?"
Fuming, Nero decided to escalate the matter.
Tyrant Nero: "@Dragon Monster, @Kaguya-sama, @Cowardly Crybaby, @Perfectionist, @Yukinoshita Haruno."
Tyrant Nero: "Tell me, all five of you—is the Emperor of Eternal Night not the greatest?"
Her anger spurred her to @ several women from the modern world, hoping to rally support.
Dragon Monster: "Hah? I don't know about that. For me, Ultraman is the most powerful. But those titles you mentioned, like Dream Demon... are they real?"
Dragged into the conversation early in the morning, Uesugi Eri's focus was peculiar. Instead of addressing Nero's question, she was more curious about the fantastical titles Mellie had mentioned, such as Avalon Sword Saint, Crown Heroic Spirit Substitute, and King's Guide.
Mellie: "Hah? What are you talking about? Of course, they're real!"
Without a shred of shame, Mellie lied through her teeth, boldly weaving what might be the most outrageous falsehood imaginable.
Dragon Monster: "You're incredible! I think you're absolutely right!"
Completely gullible, Eri believed Mellie's claims without question. Although Mellie wasn't entirely wrong about some things, Eri was unknowingly falling for a shut-in's embellished nonsense.
Yukino: "This..."
After thoroughly checking Britain's records, Yukino found no mention of the King of Glory. However, information about the Emperor of Eternal Night did exist.
"While much of it seems fantastical, even today, the Romans regard the Emperor of Eternal Night as their eternal ruler," she added.
Yukino avoided directly answering who was stronger between the King of Glory and the Emperor of Eternal Night. Instead, she presented the data she found. Yet, her stance subtly leaned toward Nero, as she was more familiar with her, the first group member Yukino had interacted with.
Kaguya Sama: "It's lively this morning, isn't it?"
At the Shinomiya residence, Kaguya finished her breakfast prepared by Hayasaka Ai. Though her greeting was casual, she had been silently observing the chat for quite some time.
Seeing Mellie and the other women from Britain join the group, Kaguya couldn't help but feel that they truly were ancient beings from Britain. However, the so-called King of Glory they spoke of—did such a person actually exist?
Kaguya Sama: "Compared to the debate over Glory and Eternal Night, I actually want to ask a question: King Arthur, are you a woman?"
Looking through historical records about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and then considering the group's rules, Kaguya felt certain that the Ten Thousand Worlds Chat Group only invited women. But if that were the case, how could King Arthur be here?
Could this King Arthur have a self-gender identity disorder? Is that even possible?
King Arthur: "I am indeed a woman. What's the problem?"
Because of Elric's influence, Artoria had never presented herself as male. Curious about Kaguya's question, she directly @ed her for clarification.
King Arthur: "@Kaguya Sama, why? Are the records about me in your world male?"
Kaguya Sama: "Yes, in our history, not only does the King of Glory not exist, but King Arthur is also depicted as a man."
Morgan: "You all?"
Morgan noticed the phrasing Kaguya used and immediately questioned it further.
Morgan: "Are you all from the same world? @Kaguya Sama."
Kaguya Sama: "Oh, sharp observation, Witch. You're quite perceptive."
Kaguya Sama: "Yes, we are all from the same world and live in the modern era. According to your understanding, that places us about 1,500 years after your time."
As she spoke, Kaguya @ed Hayasaka Ai, the Yukinoshita sisters, and Kasumigaoka Utaha, continuing her explanation.
Kaguya Sama: "Now it seems this group comprises members from three distinct eras.
"The first is the Roman Empire of Nero's time.
"The second is the Britain of King Arthur and her knights.
"And finally, the modern world where we reside."
Kaguya Sama: "Speaking of which, Princess, you've been quiet. Would you mind introducing yourself?"
Last night, after Kasumigaoka Utaha and Kasugano Sora joined the group, Kaguya had identified their roles. However, she still knew little about Sora, the so-called princess. Kaguya's question was more of a test, meant to determine if Sora also hailed from the modern world.
Princess: "Huh? I... I'm also from the modern world."
Kasugano Sora, who had been idly observing the group's conversation while enjoying the drama, was caught off guard when Kaguya suddenly @ed her. Flustered, she replied without thinking, completely forgetting Kasumigaoka Utaha's warning from the previous night to avoid speaking carelessly.
Kaguya Sama: "Oh? Is that so? Then which country are you from? I'd love to meet you."
Kaguya Sama: "Let me introduce myself first.
"My name is Kaguya Shinomiya, and I am the eldest daughter of the Shinomiya family."
A faint smile tugged at Kaguya's lips—she felt she might finally catch the princess in a slip of the tongue.
Tyrant Nero: "Wait! Don't go off topic."
Tyrant Nero: "Weren't we discussing the Emperor of Eternal Night and the King of Glory?"
Tyrant Nero: "Also, what's so strange about King Arthur being a woman? I'm an emperor, and I'm a woman too.
"Why are you so surprised? @Kaguya Sama."
Nero, unwilling to let the debate slip away, skillfully redirected the conversation. She was determined not to concede that her player, the Emperor of Eternal Night, could ever lose to the so-called King of Glory. Absolutely not!
