Chapter 3: CHAPTER 3
The next morning, the grand wedding was held at the manor.
Wanda, dressed in a white wedding gown, walked down a red carpet that stretched for hundreds of meters. Her mind went blank. Even now, she felt as if she were dreaming.
Had she really just married someone she had known for less than two days?
She turned her head slightly, glancing at Kaelin.
She had to admit—regardless of his character—he was certainly a suitable marriage partner. Young, handsome, and wealthy.
What a pity he's a scumbag.
Wanda sighed. But now, she had no choice but to accept her fate. With both of her parents gone, the wedding process had been greatly simplified.
After reciting their vows and exchanging rings, the next step was the kiss.
As Kaelin slowly approached, Wanda's heartbeat quickened. She clutched the bouquet in her hands tightly.
A brief kiss. And with that, the wedding ceremony was officially complete.
"Hey, Kae, I was a little confused at first—what made you so eager to enter the tomb of love? But now that I see this beautiful lady next to you, I can say your decision wasn't wrong!"
Tony emerged from the crowd, a champagne glass in hand.
It was inevitable—ever since he had made his now-iconic public declaration:
I am Iron Man!
He had become the center of attention wherever he went.
As for why he was at Kaelin's wedding…
When Tony announced the closure of Stark Industries' weapons development division, Kaelin took advantage of the situation, acquiring shares at a low price. After Obadiah Stane—the company's second-in-command—met his demise, Kaelin bought even more shares from Stane's family.
As a result, he now owned 30% of Stark Industries, making him the second-largest shareholder after Tony, who held 39%.
Even before their involvement in Stark Industries, the two had shared similar interests. Both were known for their extravagant lifestyles and had built reputations as collectors—not of art, but of supermodels and celebrities.
After becoming business partners, they quickly hit it off and became close friends.
Standing beside Kaelin, Wanda's expression shifted as she caught sight of Tony. A strange glint flashed in her eyes.
Noticing her gaze, Tony frowned slightly.
"I'm sorry, have we… met?"
Kaelin also noticed Wanda's expression and his own face tensed.
He knew exactly what she was thinking.
Wanda's parents had been killed by weapons manufactured by Stark Industries. It was only natural that she wouldn't feel comfortable around Tony, one of the company's key figures.
Without hesitation, Kaelin reached for her hand, gently squeezing it in reassurance. Then, he turned to Tony and offered a casual explanation.
"Of course not. Trust me, she just recalled some bad memories."
Now wasn't the time to elaborate.
After a few more vague words, Kaelin quickly pulled Wanda away, steering her in another direction. He had no intention of letting anything unexpected happen before activating the system.
For now, it was best to keep Wanda away from Tony.
As she followed Kaelin, Wanda tilted her head slightly, studying his profile.
"You seem to know him well?" she asked.
"Well, I do have a stake in Stark Industries," Kaelin replied. "But I only acquired it after they shut down their weapons division."
Wanda nodded, saying nothing more.
Last night, someone had given her a general rundown of Kaelin's background. She already knew about his business dealings.
After they left, Tony watched their retreating figures and shrugged.
"Bad memories?" he murmured to himself.
Then, just as quickly, he dismissed the thought and turned his attention toward a tall figure in the distance. With a confident smile, he made his way over.
"Hi, Jenna!"
…
Night.
In the wedding room on the top floor of the villa, Wanda sat on the million-dollar mattress, a nervous expression on her face.
With a soft squeak, the door opened.
Kaelin looked at Wanda, who was unconsciously rubbing the fabric of her wedding dress between her fingers.
"You seem nervous."
"I… I…!" Wanda stammered, panic flashing across her face.
"Don't worry, I'll be gentle."
After offering words of comfort, Kaelin kissed her.
As a pool of blood stained the sheets, a mechanical voice echoed in his mind.
"Ding! The host is now married. The Devouring Exchange System has been activated. The 'Devouring Starry Sky' method has been obtained!"
"Marriage partner bound: Wanda. Passive skill activated—'Eternal Uniqueness!'"
In an instant, memories flooded Kaelin's mind.
An hour later, Kaelin glanced at Wanda, who had fallen asleep from exhaustion. Silently, he began to process the information now embedded in his consciousness.
At that moment, various cultivation methods and secret techniques from the Devouring Starry Sky world surfaced in his thoughts—from Gene Energy Cultivation Method and Psychic Master Basics to Nine Tribulations Secret Code, Broken East River, and Lieyuan Shu.
He was no stranger to the cultivation system of this world.
The training levels started from the Apprentice level, followed by Planetary, Stellar, and Cosmic levels…
The sheer power was staggering. Even at the Apprentice level, the peak basic punching force could reach nearly 1,000 tons—a single strike capable of toppling a skyscraper.
Suppressing his growing excitement, Kaelin connected with the system in his mind.
After a brief moment, he took a deep breath, a smirk tugging at the corners of his lips.
Then, he turned his attention to the newly activated passive skill.
"Eternal Uniqueness: Wanda, who has activated the system alongside the host, will be the only version of herself across the multiverse. Additionally, the life trajectory and timeline of both the host and Wanda will be frozen—unalterable by any means."
With the system's explanation, Kaelin quickly grasped the significance of this ability.
In essence, this skill had two major effects.
First, his wife, Wanda, had become the sole version of herself in existence.
Kaelin found this immensely satisfying. The Marvel universe contained infinite multiverses, with nearly identical versions of individuals existing in each. While Kaelin didn't mind the presence of alternate versions of himself, Wanda was different—she was his wife. The idea of different Wandas across the multiverse marrying and having children with others felt… unsettling, as if he had been betrayed.
This ability eliminated that possibility entirely.
The second function of Eternal Uniqueness was that their life trajectories were now immutable. No one could travel through time to alter their past, nor could they be harmed at any point in their timeline.
This effectively neutralized the threat of an enemy assassinating them in their weaker years.
It was a safeguard that erased nearly all of his concerns.
As for the system itself, its function was straightforward—defeating villains earned him points, which could then be exchanged for various items in the system's shop.
"Would you like to open your novice gift package?"
The system's voice rang out once again in his mind.
"Open it!" Kaelin responded without hesitation.
After all, the reason he had coerced and convinced Wanda into this marriage was for this very moment—the rewards.
With Wanda's Chaos Magic potential, the prize he received should be extraordinary!
"Ding! Congratulations, host, you have obtained the Star Tower (Enhanced)!"
